I don't know what are you people arguing about. Tarja's voice sounds perfectly to me, the problem is that the engineer is screwing with her microphone. On, off, up, down, distorsions.. at one point he simply plugs it off.

Listen closely between 2:41 and 2:46 what we hear is not the speaker. It's Tarja's plain voice from the stage.

And at 2:46 the mic turns on for a split second.. then off again.

I don't think it's an honest mistake because this happened before in other duets.

At 1:36 she starts singing. Sound is fine.

At 1:45 Klaus Meine starts singing too but his voice is totally eclipsed.

At 1:58 Tarja's microphone is turned off and Meine can be heard in its "glory".

I hope that 2 separate and objective examples can stop you people from arguing over nothing.

Ann Wilson is super and was a childhood hero of mine but cannot be compared with Tarja. After over 14 years of listening to her I think Tarja is among the best voices in music ever.

Well, yeah they did fuck up (sorry for the bad words) the sound, and Tarja's mic, but well well... atleast we can hear her on the choirs/backround and in the first part of the song. I like the way Tarja using her voice diffrently many times, hehe a bit weird some folks may say, but I kinda...enjoy it. Okey not that beautiful as her angel like operatic voice, but still.. kinda cool and awesome.

Still u know that Scorpions did call Tarja, they wanted her in their song, so, we should be proud! =)

I am a singer in a hard rock band and have worked with opera as well, and the fact is to sing opera you lose power because of the different breathing techniques involved. Also power in ones vocal chords is God given and something that can't really be trained and it's painfully clear that Klaus has been blessed with some serious pipes.

Vocal chords aren't even a muscle you can train.. but your larynx is and is stronger in some people than others. Being classically trained doesn't mean you have more power nor does it mean that you can sing better. Freddie Mercury, Tarja, etc... are far from the best singers ever. Ann Wilson has a 4, almost 5 octave voice, Tarja's is 3 at best.
