  • WCh G12: Anand beats Topalov, retains world title in 2010

this is the revenge match from Anand :-)

please do analyse anand winning matches sir..

  • thanks for great commentary, just the right level for me.

  • What if ...Nd4 instead of ...c4? I know, it's still a poor position for black, but at least they exchange knights and do not get mated soon

  • why could black not take the horse with the queen once he had moved it back through check?

  • @RedxLilxSleepy most likely cuz you cant play it but i bet you rock at ball throwing and nut lickin.

  • @RedxLilxSleepy most likely cuz you cant play it but i bet you rock at ball throwing and nutz lickin.

  • @RedxLilxSleepy so yea, I look at your channel - how about you stick to watching videos about lady gaga and justin beiber and spare us your insignificant opinions....

  • 4:11 'Knight to d6 now threatens to fuck the King and Queen'

  • great vid as always and passionate commentary, nice work KC.

  • These are the best instructive chess lessons on the internet.

  • the WO Topolav-Anand in 2010 will be more exciting than kramnik-Anand

  • Veselin Topalov is a Bulgarian chess grandmaster and former FIDE world chess champion. He currently is the highest ranked player in the world.

He became FIDE World Chess Champion by winning the FIDE World Chess Championship 2005.

had the second highest Elo rating of all time(2813). He regained the world #1 ranking again in Oct 2008.

    Quote from Wiki ;)

one of the reasons that makes me proud to be bulgarian :D

  • I think Kramnik has a higher Elo than Topalov not sure tho' .. what about Anand ? Topalov is brilliant player, but Kasparov crushed him lots of times tho'.

  • FIDE ratings Top 10 Players September 2009 1 Topalov, Veselin 2813 2 Anand, Viswanathan 2788 3 Aronian, Levon 2773 4 Carlsen, Magnus 2772 5 Kramnik, Vladimir 2772 6 Leko, Peter 2762 7 Radjabov, Teimour 2757 8 Ivanchuk, Vassily 2756 9 Gelfand, Boris 2756 10 Morozevich, Alexander 2750

  • @chiruzbg be proud of Topalov and ashmed of Danailov

  • @Ruxistico yeah , Danailov was a good trainer and manger for Topalov , but this accusation scandal with Kramnik was a circus ...

Either way Topa still is , and i`m sure he will be the best bulgarian chess player for quite a while.

    cheers

  • at 3.15, why did anand play the awkward queen c8?

  • Well done. Please make more videos.

    Thank you.

  • very good video

  • A great game, teaching us how to win a game with pure extrategy

  • Who is Topple Off?

  • He's the guy who popularized regicide.

  • hehehe!

  • ;) ehehe

  • lol. U dont know him?

  • at 10:25 is my fav part

  • because the jing's in check

  • awesome commentating! thanks alot

  • hey man, very informative and quickly to the point, i'm gonna check out more of ur vids

  • I am happy that Topalov is crushing his rivals

  • That's my point, if it's done to reduce the number of draws... Why? What's wrong with a draw? It's understandable at GM level, where most of the games are draws, but for a city/junior tournament, it's stupid. The juniors aren't good enough (on the whole) to draw every single game by force. I play at about 1700 FIDE, and I draw about 5-10% of my games! There's no point penalising draws when there are so few of them anyway.

  • i think it allows for such brilliant games as this. =)

    just an idea :)

  • i was following this tourney on chessbase

(as i usually do with events of this

    magnitude) and thoroughly analyzed this

game as soon as the pgn was available.

just spectacular. this scoring system really

does favor the ultra-agressive topalov and

i am not surprised he won.

  • Brilliant game, thanks for posting!

  • Nice commentary as always, but if i may be so rude as to inquire;

Are you, or do you plan on commentating/analysing more classical games, as in the romantic style of chess? Morphy, Lasker etc. Or even betterm more games of your own. Cheers mate. =]

  • What is your thoughts concerning the Bilbao scoring system KC? Are you in favour of this scoring system, or do you prefer the original system?

Also, the time controls are ok in your books aswell?

Personally, i think it was decent because it gives players incentive to actually go all out, and you cannot simply just draw your win to a tournament win.

  • Excellent analysis, I was wondering if you would cover any of the "Grand Slam" games.

Just amazing what a category 22 tournament can do.

5/5 - perhaps you could analyze another from that tournament?

  • maybe anand is a little out of his element in this tourney system where draws will lose you the tournament a little more easily?

  • I doubt it. Either way, for as long as i can remember, i've never seen Anand come dead last.. that can't all be attributed on new surroundings and/or the different scoring system. I think that either he was saving his prep, or he was just in bad form. I mean, Anand didn't even win ONE game for crying out loud, that's got nothign to do with the scoring.. This is just so uncharacteristic of him.. hopefully when the match does come, he'll be in the best possible shape.

  • very good analysis. Im just an amateur of chess, but I think anand is keeping his strategies for the world championship, so do not underestimate him! keep on kingscrusher!

  • It should be noted, in defense of Anand, that his chess was a bit hamstrung due for not want of revealing his preparation for his upcoming match against Kramnik. However Topalov has been wrecking the Queen's Indian with his novelties lately.

  • amazing game by topolov! didnt realise anand was top dog how long's that been the case?

  • I saw this only live, and evern thought I hoped Ivanchuk would win the tournament, I got the feeling Topalov would win after this game.

  • Nice game. White used his initiative perfectly.

  • They use this points system in the Terafinal of the UK Chess Challenge, and in my opinion, it's an absolute joke. It doesn't encourage you to try to win more. People try to win anyway, but sometimes draws can't be helped.

  • I disagree, I personally think that 3 points is too much, perhaps an extra half point for a win would be better, but the idea I think is good. There can be no doubting that certain player will deliberately play for a draw and sometimes short draws are agreed before the game has got started. In Matthew Sadlers book on the Slav he basically admits that he agreed a short draw with his opponent once to watch the Euro football final, this sort of thing does nothing for the game of Chess.

  • I'm going to have to disagree too. I thought that the scoring system was pretty decent, since it seemed to me that there was ALOT more decisive games than there would normally be in such a high category tournament.(21, or 22 based on 'live' ratings)

Well played game and tournament overall for Topalov, while it was pretty much a disastrous tournament for Anand. One gets the feeling from Anand that he is saving all his opening prep and energy for his WC match with Kramnik later this year..
