Speaking of fire types being weak to ground when I played through pokemon red for the first time I was dead set on beating Brock with my charmander I trained it to like level 18 before I could finally beat him it evolved to charizard before I got to vermilion city then in yellow I beat him with just a pikachu that I trained to level 20 ish so it knew slam

My grovyle is holding an item to help boost grass type attack. It's helpfuly because the gym leaders pokemon fainted every time i used absorb. If you want it it's in the forest.
