love counting crows, they are on of the defining bands of the 90s. their music is moving and real and they rock! "the smell of hospitals in winter" slays me...spent much time im in winter with my mom before she died.
I agree with you on all levels -- my 90s favorites are definitely the Wallflowers, the Barenaked Ladies, Weezer, matchbox20, and these guys -- just such an amazing band. I've grown to love them even more recently, since the new album came out.
The line reminds me of my grandmother; it was summer, but the line still hits home.
Thanks so much for commmenting! Have you seen the "in the studio" videos from the new album? I have three of them in my favorites; if you haven't seen them, you should definitely check them out.
At first, I wasn't sure what to think, but now I can't stop listening to the album! I really love the concept of Saturday night's decisions and relationships blending over into the consequences felt on Sunday morning.
Well, I wasn't at all sure to start with, but it has grown on me. I think that all their albums are very different from each other and I do love them all. "August and everything after" being my fav album of all time. In all honesty I'm not as pleased with it as I hoped I would be after a six year wait! I will go to your Favorites now and check them out.
I will listen to it again with your comment about Sat night decisions and the Sunday morning consequences.
Just listened to the tracks, well two of them.(I have to go to work in a moment) and i would like to retract me statement about being disappointed, They are Bloody fantastic!!
I'm so glad to know someone else who loves these videos/songs! I'll be honest -- this is my first Counting Crows album; I previously only had the greatest hits. And I've been listening to it repeatedly since it came out.
I've been hesitating to buy "August and Everything After" since I already have a lot on the greatest hits -- what do you think? Is it still worth getting?
Oh My goodness...YES!!! Every song on it is beautiful, Anna begins is wonderful, about a man falling in love. Its one of those albums that even after all this time I could listen to it every day. I change my mind about the best song all the time.
I'm also a fan of Matchbox 20, what do you think of them? See your a big Dillon fan, I have never really listened to him. I may give it a go. I love good lyrics. Its like poetry with rhythm! Deb x
Thanks -- you've given me a good enough excuse to go get this album sometime soon! (CD shopping -- my favorite thing to do...:-)
I'm very much a fan of Matchbox20. In fact, I recorded "Last Beautiful Girl" for one of my earliest Laptop Sessions I posted. It's one of my favorite album tracks from them. I really want to record another Matchbox20 song soon; just not sure which one...
I love Rob Thomas Voice. Also I'm a big fan of the sound of a band, I saw them at Wembley in London and they were great. Maroon 5 supported them, it was before they made it big in England. As for songs, 3am, If your gone, The lyrics in that are lovely, Thinking about it I don't think there is one of their songs I don't like. I also like John Mayer and Shawn Mullens. Oh.. and Five for fighting. For an English women I have very American taste! I know what you mean about Cd shopping!
i kinda forgot this was a cover while reading comments haha

Hi Chris
Was just checking out if Counting Crows had a new Video from the new album, and came across you!
Liked your version, Its weird as I've never heard anyone but Adam sing any of their songs, but I liked it very much.

I love "3am" -- it was my favorite song for about three years after it came out! That would be a cool one to do...

Yeah; I kept wanting to play it a bit faster than the album version...

Chris this is a great version of the song. This is one of your best in my honest opinion.
Could be Testa's material too.

Jeff, that really means a lot to me. It's kind of funny, actually... I almost didn't post this because I thought I could do a better job.
Thanks again, and you'll definitely see this one at Testa's!
P.S. We'll have to "twin spin" again in the future!
