  • very nice. My first vacuum memorie was of a Hoover Dial A matic. Hoovers just have a soothing sound. Also a Hoover Convertible model #4003 that my grandmother had

  • I just got a model 33 in original mint condition. The cord is still pearly white! No holes, rips or missing pieces in the bag either.

Is this a rare vacuum? I dont see many of these around. Its a beautiful color.

I have 4 soon to be 5 convertibles now! They are growing on me!

    21 vacuums. 15 hoovers! :)

  • When you replaced the armature did you use one for a high-performance motor or did you manage to track down one for a standard performance machine?

  • I used a standard one, I used two junk model 33's to restore mom's machine.

  • @hoover1060 Any idea if one for a 64 would work? That's the only I've been able to track down a part number for.

  • A model 64 armature would not work, the shaft is too long.

You should be able to use just about any Convertible armature.

  • Won't putting an armature from a high performance motor in a older Convertible cause the motor to run at a higher RPM?

  • no, you'd need a high performance field coil too.

  • great vacuum man, im only 15 years old but i am currently on route to my dream. owning and restoring as many vacuums as i can, most consist of Hoovers and Kirby and a few bissels:(

so far i only own 13 vacuums two of which are hand held. anyway just a fellow vacuum lover saying hi and asking if maybe you know anyone that could help me retrieve a new tradition brush roll and front roller assembly.

    sincerely..... Frankie.

  • purple is so pretty this one sounds good how do i get in touch with charles richard i do have a few hoover questions

  • Beautiful Convertible 33 Jeff. I t is great that you have the vacuum you remember from your childhood, wish I could have the one I remember was a whirlpool built kenmore upright but it was ruined 20 yrs ago.

  • Charles Richard, the Hoover expert?

    LOL Jeff! Too damn funny!

  • Also, do you have any Spare Hoover Medallions, as the one on my 33 is Dented BADLY and I can't find one anywhere. :( BTW, if you watch my 593 Video, you will see my Model 33 in it... ;)

    Later Jeff!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • Thanks for the nice words. I'm sorry though but I don't have any spare parts.

Let me refer you to the VCCC website, there is a collector there named Charles Richard who is THE Hoover expert. I am quite sure he will be happy to assist you with whatever it is you're looking for.

  • Jeff, do you have a Spare Original Hoover Cord I can have to put on my Model 33, so it looks 100% EXACTLY like your Mom's there???????? I'm not Picky about Color, I just need an Original Hoover Cord to replace the HIDEOUS 30 Foot POS that's installed on it now you know...? ;) I just ask that the Cord be a Color that will look Decent on my 33 or be close to the Original Cord Color, if you know what I mean Friend...? ;)

  • Jeff, my Model 33 looks EXACTLY like your Mom's there, EXACTLY, even down to the Original Red Power Switch!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Mine is ALL Original to, EXCEPT, except for the UGLY 30 Foot Replacement Cord, which is not only an EYE SORE, but gives me A LOT of GRIEF as well. :(
