  • We are cooking our first ribs today....but my suggestion to you would be to get a table. :)

  • @cryrolfe: Yes, I now have TWO tables!

  • i thought you use charcoal to light the fire?

  • @MrPatatasbravas: I use a chimney

  • I enjoyed the video. I'm thinking of giving the rib rack a try to increase the number of racks I can smoke at a time. I've found that two hours out of foil then another two in foil in my upright cabinet smoker works for my ribs, but every time is a little different, no exact right amount of time. Right on for the cancer society!

  • @twhessler1: Thanks, I now use a wider rib rack, which is basically roasting rack turned upside down. Makes it easier to remove the ribs. We'll be competing at the Rock'n Ribfest at Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Palmerton, PA on Saturday 10/9. If you're in the area stop by.

  • You're video is two years old by the time I post this, so I'm sure you already know, but maybe for any new people watching....

Another way to stand up ribs is to roll them and use a toothpick to secure them. Then there is no trouble with the rib rack. And no PITA clean up of the rib rack either.

  • @mlopez028: Excellent idea, thanks for sharing!

  • 8 hours sure is a long cooking time, I cook mine for 3 hours on my WSM and they are fall off the the bone tender.

  • @texaswildhunter - I have found based on trial and error that 5-6 hours is just about right. Thanks for the comment!

  • they look fooking cremated

  • @chimpink They're smoked, not burned, you stupid fuck

  • come on man you can cook fro shit..

  • @jammillamac1 What does that mean in English?

  • Did you say 8 hours? Damn man, they had to be dried out.

  • @PartayMartay1: No, more like 6 hours and they are not fried out at all. Slow cooking, low heat, makes for tender meat. Thanks for the comment! I hope you watched my other vids.

  • you could also just bend the rows out a little for more room.

  • Yep that works..and also oil the rack before helps...Ribs look tasty...

  • I've got that exact same rib-rack. And, yes, sometimes the ribs are really difficult to remove! I think the dividers are too tall! Great vid!

  • I got new rib racks this year - basically upside-down roasting racks. The ribs sit much looser but they accomplish the job of keeping them vertical. Thanks for the comment!

  • Have you since learned how to get the ribs out of the rack any more easily? Or at least without having to set your tray down on the ground?

  • YES, I now use gloves and a table! I've come a long way.

  • he burned them

  • Actually, due to poor lighting they appear burned but are actually just dark (see part 3). Lesson learned, next time, less heat, more time. Thanks for the comment and any BBQ tips are appreciated.
