  • @rdfelty I'd love the see one :) Maybe if you ever do catch a go around on a flight, it would make a video. I have only had to go around once so far in my solo training, and it was a pretty interesting experience. I had 40 degrees of flaps in, and carb heat on, I put in the power then brought the carb heat out, I was still WAY too slow because of how slow I was with the flaps that I had to force it down to about 10 feet to prevent stalling. I got the thing cleaned up and climbed. Learning Exp :P

  • @rdfelty This was a 1983 Cessna 172N model I think... I don't know, whatever one had the 40 degrees. Since I didn't have enough room in my last comment, it's always neat to see the circumstances leading up to someones decision to go around. I really think that would be a good video for people to learn from. I wish I caught mine on video :)

  • Hey Rick, want to be honest with you, love your videos, but I think you are lucky that nose gear is as strong as it is :P After the second bounce of the wheel I would have been outta there :)

  • @TheMeslava LOL You should have seen my actual bounces where I did go around! :)

  • Are you instrument rated? Or just visual?

  • @davydood88 Just visual. Haven't pushed hard enough on training for the IFR yet.

  • What a beautiful airplane you have there. Maybe when I'm old enough I'll take that up instead of my hang gliding.. Nothing better than bein' in the air.

  • @clamb147 It's fun. This plane is a rental, and it is very nice to fly. Cool that you do hang gliding.

  • very quiet and smooth plane

  • @nighthawk0077 It is a nice plane. It's a rental.

  • I know pilots that cant fly this cause they are leftys and can write and fly at the same time HAHA

  • Nice video, however you need to take the CAPS cover off prior to take off, it's part of the preflight checklist. It's kinda hard to use CAPS in an emergency, when it isn't available!

  • @Stack151 Not sure if they've changed it, but my POH and my training only require CAPS "pin" removal during pre-flight. So we open the velcro-attached cardboard cover, remove the pin, re-attach the cover and continue with the rest of the preflight. So in that way, the CAPS is armed and ready to go. In fact, in this video you can see the pin and its red fabric tag sitting up there in the flat section of the console.

  • Sweet plane, nice board layout, especially the AI~

  • How could you get your pilot license Sir? Could you tell us how and where to learn flying? What are the requirement for student?

    Appreciates!!!

  • hey any help maybe for the sr 20? i'm making my PPL on C172 and C400 , and my flightinstructor said that it will be good for me to have some experience on the sr20 , and tips maybe , how to fly it?

  • Nice. Do you own that plane? I have always wanted to do something like that - fly solo....lol...but I dont see it happening anytime soon. What do you do? You must be pretty rich to own a plane.

  • @hdeeplive Nope. No rich. I rent the planes I fly and I don't fly very often really. Sometimes I do wish I could own one.

  • i flew here as my 2nd airport on my long solo cross country.. flew out of FRG to OQU in RI, then on to IJD, then back home...nice little airport, started raining. fun flight

  • @aviator147 Very cool. Yes it is a fun little airport. I need to go to OQU sometime. Must be a fun approach there.

  • Yo nice flight. i live about 15 miles from there and i always love walking on the dam to watch all the planes fly around. but nice video man.

  • Yo nice flight. i live about 15 miles from there and i always love walking on the dam to watch all the planes fly around. but nice vid man.

  • @javio45 Thanks for the comment nice comment. Sounds fun watching the planes from the dam.

  • This was a fun flight, very cold that day with no heat in the plane. Thinking about that now in August makes it seem even colder. Thanks for the comment.

  • good old windham. I made my first solo at this airport a couple weeks ago, but anyways, great videos, keep them comming.

  • what camera do you use?

  • :) always better than landing on block on a sunny day :\ just pray the lines not too long

  • looked like you was diving for the runway but nice video anyhow.

  • Yes, I probably was diving for the runway a bit. I knew it was a runway on the short side for the plane and my experience level, so I was trading a little speed for getting every bit of runway. Not a great speed management approach, but a good learning experience. Thanks for the comment.

  • beautifuly done.

thank you for sharing and pls keep them coming.

  • You are flying the dream aircraft with the Dream kit! Very nice approach and keep these videos coming!

  • fabioflies, I will send you a link to the video I shot of the camera mounts I use. While not specifically for the Cirrus, it will give you some idea. Then I'll probably grab some stills the next time I fly to show camera mounting positions. Thanks for writing!

  • Thanks BeechSundowner for the comment. Yes I think the camera angle had something to do with it because the the 500 foot warning seems to happen at about the right time. But I do remember being a little high and that probably added to my being fast.

  • Thanks N44949. The "flying" gloves were just to keep my hands warm in a non-heated plane. But it looks cool. Next weekend might be OK. Keep your eye on it because right now Friday looks like a snow day, but Sat and Sun look OK. Still a little early to be sure.

  • Cool flight Rick. I have to get a pair of those flying gloves! :) I've tried to fly for the past week but the cold has seem pursist and and im not a fan of below freezing preflights. Maybe next weekend but I saw snow in the forecast. Flying in New England - Gotta Love It!

  • I think we need photos of your equipment.. I received my mounts last week. Thank you for the information.

  • Good Video. How did you mount your camera ? I have been trying to mount mine in our SR22 with no luck yet.

  • Nice vid! looks like a nice airport to land at.

  • Nicely done. Just felt like you were diving for the runway video but it probably is due to the camera angle looking down I think rather then you actually nose down?
