@flaegin There is.  Religion is manmade rules and rituals. Jesus Christ is God and paid the penalty for your sins so that you don't have to be subject to evil tyrannts anymore. What you need is a relationship with God. He loves you and came as Jesus Christ to show you how much He loves you. You need a relationship with God, not a religion. Faith in Jesus Christ is the only Way.

Ok, glory, if he loves me why would he damn me into eternal torment for not believing in him? Sorry don't buy it. Jesus is a nice idea, I grant you that. i do think there was a person called Joshua (Jesus is what the greeks called him) there is trace evidence that he existed (e.g. writings of Pliny the elder) - had some great ideas, said revolutionary things...used as a scapegoat...etc. However, there is no proof that he was the 'son of God"....

it was posed as a question...and "son of God is misinterpreted as a literal 'son of God" back then it was translated as a "servant of God"...Jesus only referred to himself as the "son of man". Why do you have to deify Jesus? What can't he just be a great man that people can be inspired by? The Buddha never mentioned (and greatly discouraged) those that wanted him to be devine. i find, in my opinion, deification to be completely unnecessary. You don't need magical hollywood Jesus.

@flaegin You damn yourself by rejecting Him. Jesus was a real person. History confirms it. The Bible contains the eyewitness accounts. He fulfilled Bible prophecies of the Messiah that would come to die for the sins of the world He was born in Bethlehem of the line of David just like the bible foretold. He lived a sinless life and was born of an act of God. He is the Son of God. He rose on the third day and His desciples lives were never the same. He still does it today.

@flaegin What I mean is that because of His sacrifice once for all almost 2000 years ago, He is still giving people new lives and a living hope in Heaven through faith in Him as Lord and Savior. catholicism is paganism with the names changed to deceive. What you need is not manmade religion, but a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The problem is man's heart is evil, but through Jesus Christ you can have a new heart from God.

What slays me is that all these religions think they know the "one true God". That is so arrogant.

The bible certainly has it's place in history, it is old, but i would not consider it a historical document by any means. The bible has been interpreted and reinterpreted literally hundreds of times...usually by scholars who's opinions seem to be the most popular at the time.

I don't disagree with you about the historical facts of Jesus, there are some regardless of the bible. The romans contemporary to his life time and shortly thereafter mention him on a rare occasion. Mostly as a rebellious jewish rabbi in the time of Tiberius Caesar.

And as far as the bible is concerned, it has two main books, the old testament, and the new. Both having a completely different, contradictory God altogether.

@flaegin catholcism is paganism from ancient babylon. Julias Caesar was also the high priest of the pagan religion. You don't know much about history do you? The Bible was written from approxiamately 1450 BC to 100 AD.  The book of Genesis was written in 1450 BC and includes a detailed and accurately preserved genealogy from Adam to the descendants of Israel in Egypt at the time as slaves.

Catholicism came from Rome, absolutely. They are the one's who initially deified Jesus - before that he was a teacher/rabbi - and nothing more. So, you actually have the pagans to thank for Jesus' hocus pocus, loaves to fishes, son-of-God thing. But catholicism coming from Babylon?

if you get all your history only from the bible, i guess you would believe in all that sort of thinking that makes people create a Creation museum. Adam and Eve..people living to be hundreds of years old?...good grief, don't get me started. Human beings, as we know today, start in the fossil record 195,000 years ago (there is actually PHYSICAL PROOF of this), unlike . We are one of many great ape species that exist and have existed for over 2 million years.

@flaegin Furthermore, from that we know that Adam knew Methuselah, who knew Shem who was on Noah's Ark in 2350 BC, and Shem knew Jacob (Israel) at the time his sons were born.

Although the Bible has been translated into countless languages, it still has been preserved accurately in the original Greek and Hebrew. Ancient historians and archaeolgy also prove the Bible's accuracy.

Historians prove certain facts within the bible...HOWEVER, key characters

such as Noah, Moses, Abraham...there is absolutely no evidential proof. King Ramses? plenty of proof...Moses, who was suppose to be his contemporary? Nada. there is just no logic into it. The farther you go back in history the less accurate it is - even history dating back 200 years is not terribly accurate. You want to put all your faith in a supposed history that dates back thousands of years?

it is you that is ignorant of history... as with most religion the history they (those in power) chose to portray as fact is cherry picked and exaggerated to support whatever agenda of those in power-and religion is the easiest weapon to control people.

Satan hates the Bible because the truth sets people free.
