I don't know about Turn A Gundam....I don't like the character designs OR the mobile suit designs. The story even sounds pretty out there....Not to mention, I know it SAYS that Loran is a guy, but I've never seen/heard a more feminine dude in my life...I'll give it a shot, but not really counting on staying with it for long...
@ZhadoxFlamez He was meant to be! They wrote him as a girl but the advertising tie-wearers said it wouldn't sell. So they made him the girliest boy they could, had him crossdress, and scripted in multiple terrible blows to the groin for him through the series. Don't fuck with Tomino! XD
@ZhadoxFlamez Agreed. Also Turn A was so different then a typical Gundam series that having the protagonist be a girl would simply make sense. That is the one thing that is missing from a Gundam series. THey have strong female characters, but in its 30+ years of being around, but not a single female protagonist. I guess the biggest problem is that this is a) a Gundam series, so it is mostly for guys and b) Japan is still not really an open country yet for female advancement...which is sad.
@SolBadguy777 Yeah I have read that and it is amazing! However, I am talking more about an animated series with a female main character. Ecole is a very good series and I am surprised that the japanese animators haven't caught on yet that such a series would be awesome. Hmm...maybe a anime adaptation of the manga...?
@ronnor001 Probably, honestly the mangas or novelizations of gundam have so much potentiol to be a great anime. To name a few, gundam sentinel, blue destiny, eu ecole du ciel , and others. There is going to be an anime adaptation of Gundam The Origin which is a manga.
@ronnor001 Yeah it's a nice track back to UC the pioneer to the gundam series. Although, I wish Turn A Gundam doesn't have to suffer from all these controversies.
@ronnor001 Oh wait now I think I see what you mean... Cause you said that "Also Turn A was so different then a typical Gundam series that having the protagonist be a girl would simply make sense." I understood it as it's different and that it makes sense that it has a girl protagonist.
Its called Turn A gundam.....its part of the gundam meta serries.....its really good and has deep character developments but it has less fighting and ALLOT less death than the other gundam serries
True, but its the only place which there is less motion unlike cockpits in the chest which could make the pilot dizzy. by far, Turn A's design is very well made.
That's because Tomino wasn't depressed anymore. When he made the series in which everyone died, he was in the midst of a depression - Victory Gundam was a good example.
Man, Poe seems to exist just to get owned.

The only bad thing about this series is that Loran is a boy.
Why!?
When I first saw him, and I genuinely thought he was a girl.

I think it was one of the rules given to the designer. It was mentioned in one of the magazines I read in 1999.

damn the trust on the turn can push a ship into space the freedom sure as hell cant do that. It had to hitch a ride like a hooker.

You're forgetting Brain Powerd and King Gainer; both which are pretty optimistic shows.

I think something should be said for the audio of Turn A. The suits genuinely sound impressive and powerful, and the dialogue intense.
poindizzle 4 years ago 19
And the music... oh my god. Some of Kanno's best work.
simzam12 4 years ago 21
I agree. Turn A has the best audio I've heard in a Gundam show (00 comes pretty close).

Amuro Ray, for all his piloting skill and Newtype potential, NEVER did anything this badass with the Hyper Hammers.
cosmonautlamer 4 years ago 7
He killed that one guy in space, I remember, when he was fighting alongside Harry Ord. That's about it, I think.
GringoGad 4 years ago
Yes, Turn-A has more than balls of iron. And what massive better-than-iron balls they are.
TemDMindu 4 years ago 3
Actually, he only kills one person in the entire series.
5136zeon 4 years ago
Turn-A may look strange, but it is a gundam and gundam can easily dominate all of those stupid mobile siuts!
sanderfirer 5 years ago 3
ESPECIALLY this one. Have you ever seen the Moonlight Butterfly attack? It destroys all technology in its path.
heavyarms01h 4 years ago 4
Heh, it destroys everything in its path. Technology, flora, fauna. At least it isn't biased. ;D
Cilidar 3 years ago 6
They tease us so much in Turn-A.
Loran's kill count is probably 5, and he goes SO CLOSE to making the most ownage ever seen in a GUndam series.
Scentless 5 years ago 4
Actually, he kills no one.
He DOES shoot down a lot of people, though... but he doesn't kill anyone.
NewtypeS3 5 years ago
No, he kills a few people in space. So unless they've ejected or something, they're dead.
