Magar and Gurung women both dance. In fact they have a dance called ghato in which several women will dance trance-like for 3 days without stopping. The man dressing as woman is a common culture play, but it is not because women did not dance.
Traditionally, it is not the women that dances as shown in the previous videos. It is a man dressed up as woman that dances throughout. So, at the end of the show, they do this to show that a man, dressed up as woman is in fact a man.
In a way, this also shows that women are under represented in this culture.
Who says women are underrepresent in this culture get your facts right bro. In fact our girls do enjoy more freedom than any other girls in nepal. Do u know Sorathi have diffrenet version guys or as known as pursunga is used only in sorathi which is danced during the festival of holy as at that time the words get really filthy even its not allowed minors to attend holi verion of sorathi.
