So what happened to disco? Not a damn thing. It became house. This track is a perfect example of how you can't but a date on classic. What a great voice.
I used to go into a bar on Sunset and load the jukebox with cash and keep hitting the button for this song. It would play for about an hour and a half nonstop. They finally asked me to stop doing that every day. One of my favorites.
... I remember hearing this track when it was originally released. Stunning vocals, players, performances, backing vocals, and engineering. I especially like the space between each individual element. Current pop music is too often cluttered with layer after layer of unnecessary junk... leaving no room to breathe or really listen. Producer Bob Esty always knows how to focus on the important stuff. The last two minutes of this track are a perfect example.
@art101tv Hi, Andy. I agree, this is a very well produced "disco" album by Bob Esty. Kind of reminds me of the Alec R. Costandinos and Love & Kisses arrangements. I absolutely love it!
Como no recordar la voz de Mario Vargas anunciando toda la musica disco...sobre todo esta que me recuerda a Cristobal... el de Cuernavaca...que tiempos!!!!
