Tim Ferris has an amazing philosphy on work life balance. the 4hr work week inspired me quite a bit. I hear so many of those questions over and over again and feel where your coming from. Great Vid!
While the gear that you use may not be the best/most expensive/most effective (it could even be the worst on the market) you have shown the RESULT that people want themselves. For this reason people have the notion that by copying as much as a successful person does (even if it is the worst possible way to do something) they feel that if this person could get the results they want - they'll be able to get them also.
"What Do You Use" is always such a big question in any skill or talent be it music, sport or any hobby - as people with little skill or knowledge and experience like to MODEL others in the hope to learn faster and get results faster.
you are such an inspiration it lights up my day just listening to your take on things. I think your completely right about the gear questions and that good gear is necessary if you want good results but I also think that if you get too much gear your endangering your creative process because the more gear you have the less time you will take to sit down and really perfect your abillities with the stuff that you already own!
It's a very giving presentation and so refreshing to hear an SL musician who actually talks about music! You're right about people being curious about how we use electronics, stompboxes, and all the devices and I should give this some attention in what I do as well. Nice job. Thanks!

He's Canadian. And he sounds it. You know, I'm Caucasian but don't have a German accent like my ancestors.
Torley: Your audio is out of sync for me on this video for some reason.

Your sound and your talent are in your hands. Gear matters, but if it's not in your hand it won't come out of your axe!
