GOD! Richard looks so much like Mick Jagger. He was born in '71 and The Rolling Stones were fucking everything in sight, so maybe Richard's mom went to a stones show......and the rest is history
¿wOULD YOU LIKE VERVE OR ASHCROFT PLAY AFTER OR BEFORE SHAKIRA?
SORRY IT´S AN AWFUL VISION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!if you remember bitter sweet symphony it´s the only song we have heard on the radio¿don´t you think it´s because it´s the more easy to hear. And I like it, but it´s not really really so verve or Ashcroft. Whole word knows verve only by this song, few know the other wonders they have created. Bye
um.. blink 182 is not shit, its a completely different style of rock than the verve or bands like oasis so don't even compare them. There are good in their own right.
this song is just unreal. theres nothing else like it. im just blown away by the early years, its kinda sad how everyone in the world knows bitter sweet symphony but very few know this.
@ braddyboy82 Try an internet station like Last.FM . It sort of like what Facebook would be like if it was geared toward music. Lots of new music equal to or even better than this by bands that you have never even heard of. Some offer free downloads .And finding music is much easier than here . I have a hard time finding what I want even when i know exactly what I want . This site is a serious waste of time when waddling through cell phone videos to find a decent quality vid
i saw these guys at bogat's in cincinnati in '93 in the middle of a snowstorm. the roads were bad and only 30 or so people showd up, but the Verve played as if the house was packed. they said they did it out of appreciation for the people who showed up. great band...
psichedelic video filmed in an Almeria's road brothel, in the deep south of Spain, love this video cause I cross this lands completely stoned a lot of times time ago :p. One of the best songs and videos ever, Storm in heaven is an art work of the 90's

man this song is a classic, i remember, when all of my peers here in america were listening to the backstreet boys, I was listening to urban hymns, and whats the story morning glory, this stuff got mtv play back in the day, i was about 8 years old and i was always ostricised for liking british music as an american except for my parents who always let me listen to whatever i wanted/
This is a very dark song for me. My friend got burnt half to death in the 2007 in the california fires. This song was on his myspace while he was in the hospital for more than 6 months. But it is a very well crafted and beautiful song otherwise
genius. it speaks for itself u dont get shit like this anymore but hopefully itll turn around an true music will come back surely even the average sheep will get tired of all the corporate shite thats happenin these days . i hope an pray !
its curious that we all question why this kind of music isnt the norm and all over tv and radio. But hey its epic tunes like this that seperates us from the dullards...
I like this way better than Bittersweet Symphony. This is one of the most beautiful songs ever. Nick's guitars blend beautifully with Richard's voice.
Thanks for posting this - This band r so underrated & amazing, kicked down the doors for Oasis, Kasabian and Black rebel to follow after....The Verve wrote- recorded some great tracks ! (saw em in 95 it was special like watching the Doors or something)
@bakedaddy747 you guys should try streaming NME Radio through the iTunes radio stations - it's in the Alt genre. I was in Germany when this album came out. they had the video for Blue in rotation, so Euro MTV was pretty good, but yeah, I'm with you guys - can't remember the last time I even listened to commercial radio. all sounds the same or sounds like crap to me now.
@bakedaddy747 blink182 is ok and I like, what I don't get is this emo bands nowadays. I wish we could enjoy the 90's again. Best decade of music... Oasis, the verve, Pearl Jam, Offspring. And other thing. MTV was worth watching in the 90's. Today is just a TV channel for gay bands and gay fucking rap and hip hop groups.
@bakedaddy747 don´tt try to understand. it would be a shame for the verve were in the shit of MTV, the good taste only is for few people like us.Let Rihanna and Lady Gaga for the ash of unsensitive people that listen the trash of MTV. It´s an honour for Ashcroft being outside this kind of shit. Fortunately you have a good taste and all of us here. Let MTV for the ignorant and manipulated people. we stay with verve .
@bakedaddy747 It is because as a business model, there is a paradox in play.On one hand, to play Blink 182 creates a cultural mediocrity that is easily replica-table for the masses.Likewise, the classic rock from the 60s, 70s and 80s, that is already copyrighted, can be shoved down the throats of consumers with little to no overhead.Thirdly, the current demographic shift allows for power to be continued into those who are in their 50s & 60s. Don't worry, it will change, the internet is part of..
Richard Ashcroft's great, but Nick McCabe's guitar-playing is what is really transcendent. He is one of the best guitarists I ever heard. Very underrated.
braddyboy, it's true what u say, but this song didn't chart. It only barely scraped the Top 100 in the UK and I dont think it managed anything in the US. don't get TOO nostalgic, cuz even then this kind of song got ignored.
@braddyboy82 Do it. thats probobly why the radio stations suck so badly. no one tells them about the bands that are LEGITAMATELY GOOD. and not the same word just repeated over and over like some "artists" nowadays somehow get away with. i cant even listen to most crap on the radio anymore. i use my own music.
@braddyboy82 You should check out Jody Porter's new record. He was helping to lead the shoegaze charge back in the late 80s and early 90s alongside groups like the Verve. Of course, now he's in the Fountains of Wayne, but you should check him out in iTunes. His new solo record (he's still in FoW, but just wanted to get these songs out) is fantastic. Check out Good To Be Alone. That's one of my favorites. Twilight as well.
@braddyboy82 The reason is threefold. 1st, technology has eroded the need for purchasing. 2nd, technology has also made it easy for anyone to make music, by stealing off of others, taking away from talent. However 3rdly, and most importantly, those who control the music logistics have decided upon mediocrity to foist copyright control of previous music and the nepotism that permeates take the first two and supports the third. The end in sight, is the through niches that exist now...Just my $0.06

Anybody know what town Ashcroft is living in these days? I heard somewhere near May Hill, or somewhere in Gloucestershire....
Any help would be appreciated! Cheers!

@lewisjamesfegan1994: Fuck no, man. I'm just visiting the U.K. this summer and I wanna stop by his town to see where my music heroes live.
