  • you are my hero & my insperation ! dear beautiful & strong margaret thatcher!

  • Thatcher's statue is a lot more flattering than Churchill's. There is an even worse Churchill statue out in front of the building where he looks like a bum hustling quarters.

I agree a stainless steel statue of her would have been more fitting.

  • £1500 in scrap.

  • that statue looks good.... or at least it would, lying smashed into little pieces in a yard waiting to be smelted down.

  • I had no idea how much affection Michael Martin had for Mrs Thatcher.

  • @marmaline2001 I agree with you I also admire and adore Margaret, and yeah she did fight, God Bless Her :)

  • British English sounds gay - even when it's spoken by women.

  • Years latter....her statue was beheaded by a passing by worker.....to be restaurd after Ii is an example of what th eefect of her public polices provoked in people's ordinary lives.

  • god love her she had style class and Dare i say balls to get the job done when she talked you had to watch and listen to her no one like her before or after has entered number 10 the lady is not for turning

  • God Bless Margaret Thatcher.

  • Only Churchill has as a statue on the House of Commons... Now Tactcher has one too. That reflects what was good, not only in english history, but in world history!

  • Throughout my entire time in school, she was in government. Those were the years within which my brain would absorb information the most. Now permanently brainwashed, as I am, I can't help but agree with conservative thinking and I can't shake it off. It's like being part of a hive mind, knowing immediately what conservatives do and why they do it. Atm with he have a coalition government and it is, not quite conservative because it is still a team.

  • What a bloody fine lady, best PM we ever had.

My God how we could do with some her backbone and balls in todays modern age.

Mass immigration? She wouldnt have put up with any of that nonsense.

  • There is no-one to stand against Brussels diktats, unfortunately. One step towards a federal Europe. *sigh* - centuries and centuries of history and sacrifice gone to waste.

  • How shallow

  • Thatcher: the height of arrogance.

  • @ConspiracyCon

    Nope, thats socialists.

  • She did what she thought was right. SOme are socialists some are conservative. Cant we realise we have different views and jsut accept that?

  • The Devils Hell won't be complete until she's in it with Hitler and all the rest of the crack pot world leaders...

  • Man muss schon sehr selbstverliebt sein, um ein Denkmal seiner selbst vor versammelter Presse zu enthüllen. Mir wäre das peinlich. Ein Bismarck hätte sich geweigert, so etwas zu tun.

  • hurry up and die you old c***

  • @Photonzos shut the hell up you socialist asshole

  • @Texfield91

hey dont insult me by calling me socialist

I'm far more radical than that.

  • Please, please, please. Come back. Run again for PM. Regardless the old age, you are still strong. The strongest. Britain needs you. Europe needs you.

    - from Italy

  • @SirGlennGould Agreed.

  • Clever

  • I've just realised you're 16 and well done for having a go! The answer is no, Maggie was preparing to mothball 1/4 of the pits, that argument was made that although coal was in decline but the govt's thought was that it would have another life in years to come, hence, mothball pits.

Scargill wanted his place in the sun, he was either stupid or very clever, I think the latter but that makes him a schemer.

  • @Intravenusdimilo

It isnt possible to mothball a pit. Once it closes it closes for good.

Can't redig a collapsed mine. Doesn't matter how well it is propped down that deep the ground closes and makes it impossible to rebore.

To destroy union power she destroyed British industry in one of the most traitorous acts ever perpetrated against Britain. There will be parties the day she dies.

  • @Photonzos Not as traitorous as Labours open door, mass immigration policy though was it?

  • I've just realised you're 16 and well done for having a go! The answer is no, Maggie was preparing to mothball 1/4 of the pits, that argument was made that although coal was in decline but the govt's thought was that it would have another life in years to come, hence, mothb

  • Dennis would be pissed as he always was, any sane man would be driven to be an alchy being married to the witch!

  • 'I might have preferred iron, but bronze will do'. What a great lady.

  • Thanks to this bitch brussels makes all our decisions and we have lost thousands of businesses, only one good thing came from this evil whore...carol,now we are talking a real person.nothing like her mother :)...just shows that evil does not always beget evil, not the same for her gun running son..oh i nearly forgot that she protected pinochet in our country at the taxpayers expense.just because someone is a strong and hard leader it don't mean they are a good one.

  • we love you maggie and in spite of what others my say liberty lives in the UK because of you

  • Love her. Forever the iron lady.

  • hey you tory fucks Maggot is dead Arthur lives!! HA HA she is dead and stinking in the groiund

  • your all talking pish, she was a witch and the worst pm ever, brown was the best

  • "I prefer iron, but bronze will do." What a wit.

Mrs Thatcher, you had the style, you had the determination and you had the people behind you. Look at Japan. No style, no dignity and no bottom.

Please come to Japan and be our Prime Minister.

  • @Kenta19191919 Well why don't you come and live here amongst the Tory scum we have now? You'll be well at home quaffing champers and looking like a right city banker.

  • @MetusModus

I hear that she also made many people unhappy. John Major was in power only for four years and Labour came in afterwards. Now Labour is out and the Tory is back again. If you were not too offended by my comment, please tell me what Mrs Thatcher did wrong? I want to know what anti-Thatcher have to say about her era.

  • @Kenta19191919 How many homeless people were on the streets living rough in cities across our nation when this tyrant was in power? How many unions were disabled by this clown in office? The ONLY PM how took us to TWO wars in her time in office, how many people lost their career through the ill thought out manner of this idiot? How many RIOTS took place whilst Mrs dark was on her throne? How many industries fell foul of her sweeping hand? November 1979 Base rate was 17% Highest in UK history.

  • @MetusModus

So, they were all caused by her? I am sorry but I get an impression that you attribute them all to her.

  • @Kenta19191919 Ted Heath never went to such lengths, Home never cause half as much havoc, Eden Macmillan and Churchill never in a million years would have introduced HALF the taxes on poor people as SHE did, She had a complex about power and wealth like no one on Earth, in the end HER OWN PARTY HAD TO OUST HER! THEY STABBED HER IN THE BACK SO SHE COULDN'T CARRY ON WITH THE TORTURE. Read your history fool.

  • @MetusModus

Well, I am only a humble, poorly educated Japanese so you are right to call me a fool, I am sure. I am also annoying you it seems, for which I offer my apology. Please enlighten me again. What would you have done to make Britain a better place if you were in her position?

  • @Kenta19191919 Spend ALL the money that was spent on war and pump it into industries and NHS.

  • @MetusModus

I see. You have a point there. So, you would just let the Argentinians take the Falklands?

  • @MetusModus I think you'll find a Labour PM had two wars to fight whilst in office, he's got a book out if you want to learn something.

  • @Intravenusdimilo No pre Tony Blair, NO LABOUR PARTY EVER WENT TO WAR EVER. THIS LABOUR PARTY WAS THE FIRST TO DO SO.

  • @MetusModus ah so no Labour PM's took us into a war apart from the Labour PM that did.

Also, surely Thatcher's cruching of union power was a good thing? We've also had homeless people in he last 13 years and oh yes, Labour have always left office with more unemployment than hey inherited. Thatcher made errors, however, it's rather silly to just rubbish all that he achieved.

  • @MetusModus ah so no Labour PM's took us into a war apart from the Labour PM that did.

  • @Intravenusdimilo Incorrect mate. The unions supported those who were MOST at risk, in 5 years time you will have NO LEGAL RIGHT TO STRIKE YOU'LL WORK UNTIL YOU'RE DEAD. I'm not sure what you mean by "cruching" DO YOUR RESEARCH FOOL 1980's record number of homeless people in the UK. "all that he achieved" I think Thatcher was an ugly woman but she WAS a Woman. The Tories have always increased taxation and they always left office with higher interest rates than they inherited. She was a tyrant!

  • @MetusModus re. unions: Yes unions have a role to protect those at risk, they had far exceeded that remit with union leaders preferring to massage their ego rather than protect vunerable workers at risk. The obvious examples are the state owned car industry and coal industry and we still have Bob Crow or furthermore, the BA cabin crew's union are at it right now.

I'd do a bit more research on interst rates & tax beofre you shout fool.

  • @MetusModus Homelessness is caused by many factors, marital splits being the biggest impact. Given that the divorce rate increased in the mid 80's with the emancipation of women, you start to see the bigger picture.

  • @Intravenusdimilo I wonder why women wanted emancipation, I can't think where they got that from? I wonder if ANY families stay together these days? Margret we have SO much to attribute to you. My brother grew up in the 80's and he tells me about all the bums and homeless people in Hackney and Stepney and Deptford, I thought he was having a laugh with me until I went to visit my Dad at his house and he told me it was ALL true, that people used to live in boxes on the street! Crazy government!

  • @MetusModus I'm all for empirical evidence but to base your argument on what your brother says about a tiny area of Britain is pehaps a little myopic. Thatcher left 29 yrs ago, Labour have been in power for 13 yrs but you still have people living in cardboard boxes.

  • @MetusModus I don't think even the blue tinted home counties tory would claim Maggie Thatcher was instrumental in the emancipation of women and femminists would go mental at you.

  • @Intravenusdimilo And he lives SE3! My brother dosen't even live here anymore he had anough in 2003 got out never came back hated London so much. Seems to me that the best way to judge a country is how it treats it MOST VUNERABLE eldery, poor, and children, sick, disabled, low income, mentally ill,and the Tories DO NOT STAND FOR THAT!

  • @MetusModus I'm sorry I've no idea who lives in SE3 or what SE3 is. I've lived in RG26, NE1, NE7, NE4, LS1, LS26, SK6 and I don't recognise your version if the UK.

  • @Intravenusdimilo You should do if you REALLY are 41 then you should have been hit VERY hard by Thatcher she never gave one I ota for the North, she closed masses of pits in YOUR area. You don't recognise that?

  • @MetusModus She was not without fault, things happened too quickly but this was really down to Scargill's daft stance of saving every pit & protracted strike, by the time the mines went back to work, the market for coal had gone elsewhere. Scargill was loving the strike and the self-promotion & couldn't give a fig about his members.

  • @Intravenusdimilo Sometimes you HAVE to stick to your guns.

  • @MetusModus Well it certainly kept Scargill in clover despite destroying an industry and his members jobs

  • @Intravenusdimilo Mmm can't help but think if it were not for Maggie in the FIRST PLACE then Scargill would never have been even needed. If she didn't stick her big size 11's in it then Arthur would never have had to fight for ANY members!

  • @MetusModus Some of us in the North did'nt wallow in self pity hankering after working in industries propped up by Labour with tax payers money for years. Some of us,in fact a lot of us voted Tory because we knew the country needed a kick up the backside and Labour never had the balls to do it.I consider myself to be working class as are my family. What Labour people cannot stomach is that, many, many working class people voted Tory. She had way more seats in the North than Cameron or Major

  • @markabba Not half as man that voted FOR Labour that were in fact upper class, so I guess it's all square there.

  • WOW A GARGOYLE gofigure...

  • Now...where is my power saw :D Proud as fuck:P!!!

  • Fucking hell. Isn't she dead yet?

Can anyone confirm that maggie earned her name 'The Iron Lady', due to her clitoris being made of iron? I've been informed that her entire vulva was made from various metals, including her piss-flaps, which were constructed using stainless steel.

  • lol at Cameron not wanting to be seen with her.

  • If We Finally Drop Our Adjustment Governed By The Sociological Definitions And Etymology Of The History, Which Is What History At The End Of The Road Will Ruled Out Us To Do.The History With No Doubt Would Turn The Last Page To Outstanding That Humanity Would Have To Wait For A Period Of 100 Year Or So To See Another Remarkable And Heroic Woman Such A Margaret Thatcher

"Margaret Thatcher Please Pray For Me Because I Know That God Is At Your Side"

    God Bless You

    Juan Vasquez

  • Murderer of 900 Argentinian boys.

  • @darioso5 which boys? you mean man at war with our nation.

Any english die in that conflict?................. Which Argentina started and Mrs T finisned

  • @darioso5 But what u don't understand is those 900 Argentinians locked British Falklanders in buildings like cattle without food, water or a toilet. So they deserved it

  • We seem to forget in this country that to have a women Prime Minister in the 1980's was an amazing achievement for Britain. We should be PROUD of it! We were well in advance of the rest of the world who still had white haired, middle aged males!

  • you do know why it was bronze, yeh? she came in 3rd place behind hitler and stalin!

  • What an inspiring woman!

  • A wonderful woman... how short memories are, or how ignorant or bloody minded, given some of the contemptible comments below.

  • Please don,t preach to me about how someone who told us "there,s no such thing as society" cares about MY freedom.

  • @intheblood1 She never said that exactly- this is a poor misquote banged about for years! A certain type of society doesn't exist and if you read her comments you'd know what type.

  • Bronze or Iron, what does it matter? the statue will still have more feeling than her.

  • nice.. She cared about your freedom, as an individual, far more than you care about it yourself.. you have yet to know what it like to be under the 'thumb' of someone else.. I hope you never do..

  • Who would win in a fight, the Iron Lady or Iron Man?

  • " I might have prefrered iron... but bronze will do "

    LOL

  • @marvzHilton Yeap! best PM ever.

  • @marvzHilton

     crap

gordon brown was the best ,thatcher was the worst

  • @HRHStewartIIRegina Thatcher and Brown were both awful. So were Blair and Major. This country hasn't had a good Prime Minister in decades.

  • @marvzHilton History will show what Thacterism did to this great country of ours,Millions on the dole and claiming benifits ,while the rich and the bankers steal all the silver,Yes privatisation was good for the few but at the expense of social cohesion ,society is now on the brink of ruin, but she did not believe in society. This great Britian is now a sad place to bring my grandchildren up in,must go and piss on that statue when shes gone?

  • Best PM ever.

  • Keep right on, Maggie

  • Let her critics be as scornful as they have always been. As long as they hate and scorn and jear they rub their own noses into the ashes of their defeat.

  • @mario1983xy Most of her critics are socialist scum anyway.

  • A Scot is proud of that cunt? Hope she dies painfully.

  • you must be a muslim or a liberal

  • Fuck off you Muslim welfare addict.

  • She was the last of the Greats!

I pray we have someone of her gereatness to save us now!

  • LUVMYPETS123

    > get a bag of shit and throw it all over this statue

Throwing YOURSELF on the statue achieves exactly that.

  • .....inventive...

  • Hands across the water on that one mate. What a cunt indeed.

  • there is like something about her...like an aura

  • Should have made it from Iron!

  • great lady

  • Gawd bless her

  • A unique and wonderful leader, the nation and the world owes her a debt of gratitude.

  • The`people who bought our national assetts on the cheap thought she was wonderful.

She wasted all the north sea oil money on pursuing a policy of mass unemployment to keep workers wages down.

  • What rubbish!!! Do you understand economics? You don't keep wages down by employing fewer people. If there are fewer people to do the job, they can demand higher wages. The Black Death is a perfect example of this. Because so many peasants were killed, the survivors could demand higher wages because the demand was still there. Unemployment was high because the old industries were dying because of foreign competition, which is why the transition to a service based economy was necessary.

  • You really dont understand economics do you sixstring. Funny you should mention Supply and demand and then fail to put 2 and 2 together. Foreign competition was not the reason they closed down mines and printworks etc etc.

  • 2+2 = 4. Foreign competition was the reason. Our industries were grossly inefficient, even Scargill admitted that, even though he said all pits should remain open despite inefficiency.

  • Long live Lady T! She is a wonderful woman!

  • She hated British people so she made the country rich and proude again. She hated British people but saved the ones on the Falkland Islands. She hated British people but she helped end the Cold War. She hated British people but she gave people the right to buy their council house rather than live in something they didn't own.

Or maybe she didn't hate them at all.

  • you forgot the facts that she demanded our money back from the EU and whilst they only wanted to give her 40% she still demanded, and got, 66%.

  • And Mr Blair gave it back. What a fucking tosser he is

  • Margaret Thatcher saved the UK and rescued Britain's position in the world.

  • @hooverdamman

    crap

  • Lady Thatcher, you've deserved that statue, long may you live Baroness Thatcher!!!! >D

  • When did this take place?

I am from the U.S. but I love the UK and I have a interest in Margaret Thatcher. I didn't think she was able to take part in public appearances any longer?

  • im proud of here too.... long live maggie
