Why is it such a big deal having an Automatic??? The people who diss on those who drive automatic are dumb. If they knew anything, they would know that in the world of drag racing, nowadays people use automatic transmissions more than manual because you can shave almost a half second off your time or more.
i drive a stick shift fbody camaro and its fun as hell but when it comes to dead stop rolls an auto can snag quicker almost everytime. rolling start stick takes it everytime. but most def nice car dude. fuck all those haters and the poor guys that think mustangs existed after the 80s models fox bodies lol jk.
@ezshaun autos are better from a dead stop take off and sticks are better at rolling runs. just depends on what your playing with and how you play with it.
Who cares if its an auto. The newer autos perform much better and shift very quick unlike the older years. I wanted a standard when I got my Challenger but went with auto and its a blast.

@RebelDawg91 It is actually an orange/red (it is the factory "Inferno Orange" interior option) depending on the lighting and angle, but it comes out as red in the video....and a bit more harsh. It looks much better in person and I get tons of compliments on it.

@carson0425 Fun? Fun is relative don't you think? letting your RPM's drop? That makes no sense. I said you don't lose boost with an automatic. That's because of the throttle body staying open. When the throttle body closes, the pressure has to dissipate or the turbo will be ruined. You could make the argument that no lift shifting eliminates that issue, but you try no lift shifting a 600 whp turbo car and see what happens. BTW, me beating you at the stoplight sounds pretty fun.
Nice car man i wanna do the same to mine. I got a 2ss Ls99 (wife likes to drive it too so no Ls3 for me) but all i got so far is a bolt on exhaust, which i know is gay. Lthough It was what i could afford, but also got a cai. Looking to do more but don't know where to start any suggestions? This way I can plan around my income tax return.

My personal preference would be a manual, but I'm only 18 and haven't been driving for 20 years either. I still have major respect for the car. It doesn't really matter. In fact, a lot of drag cars are auto.

I'm an experienced drag racer with counteless track passes as well autocross & road race experience, all in manual cars. I am a graduate of a performance driving school in Pahrump, NV where we shifted more times in one day than most people do in a month. @carson0425 Fun? Fun is relative don't you think? letting your RPM's drop? That makes no sense. I said you don't lose boost with an automatic. That's because of the throttle body staying open. When the throttle body closes, the pressure has to dissipate or the turbo will be ruined. You could make the argument that no lift shifting eliminates that issue, but you try no lift shifting a 600 whp turbo car and see what happens. BTW, me beating you at the stoplight sounds pretty fun.

Everyone knows ferraris no longer come in manual form anymore and the fastest porsche models are the automatic versions..
Sure they have dual clutch automatics instead of torque convertor automatics but the shift times may be 100 milliseconds faster but who cares when you have 600hp and 600 lb/ft of tq!
