• DADT was a great idea, now all the straight marines are gonna feel weird knowing that the guy sleeping next to him is gay

  • @thesephman DADT doesn't keep homosexuals out of the military, but it forces them to live in secrecy. THAT'S hard. Other marine is uncomfortable? Tough.

  • @thesephman Marines gonna feel weird? What are they some pussies? We are talking about real men serving for the country, praying to come back home soon. And every each of them outs same effort and is equally good. What is so special about straight marines then? Unless they were ladies well ok...I would then be more tolerant of feeling smth weirder, but come on are you joking?

  • @thesephman Gays served all the time and they respect their marines, they would never hit on anyone. Straight marines release their tension by speaking up with others, why should gays not be allowed of that. What's with the double standard, is it because you think gays are just stronger men??? They are like any other men, they worry, they need to feel accepted and relaxation times. They can't be relaxed and serve as good if they feel strangled. It all does good for the whole military.

  • Gay Marines would have been summarily discharged, given AWOL and shot for desertion, when my uncle was in the Korean War. RIP and Semper Fi, unc!

  • Fags wussify the military

  • Straight = Nazis

    Gay = Jews

It like there taking every rights away they can get there hands on towards the gays... I thought this was America... The land of freedom and rights I guess America is just one big lie....

  • A woman loves weiner. A man loves a woman who loves weiner, we fight amongst ourselves but it all evens out. When you throw a man who loves weiner into the mix, the natural equation gets fucked up because the input is fucked up. If you want to put your penis in another man's rectum, then so be it. But don't put the 99% of straight servicemen/women at risk because you want your fucking "right." i am a marine corps grunt, and my sister is a combat camera in afghanistan. And although we think it's

  • When I was in the Corps we ran queers out if we found out about them. It was never tolerated. You knew the rules - no queers. If you lied and we found you out your queer ass was lucky to not get a beat down. Sick and tired of political correctness. This shit is a disgrace.

  • I knew SSGT Alva

he was the supply chief in 3/7

I had no idea he was gay, but I was w 3/4 and didn't know him too well

  • @mjccmc82 Shouldn't have had to find out.

  • My name is James Stutts...and I served with SSgt. Alva from 1996-1998 with HMH-769. I received my honorable discharge from The Corps in 1999. While serving with SSgt. Alva we all knew that he was a gay man. It simply wasn't talked about. We could have cared less. He did his job and was a good Marine. That was all that we cared about, and that's all that mattered. I don't claim to understand what it's like to be hiding your sexuality in the service, but I can claim to know that we didn't care.

  • gonna happen and if this would have been left alone no one would be treated wrongly..

  • All of you trying to get this abolished are fucking idiots! It was put in effect to let gays serve in the armed forces just not openly so no one would freak out but you guys are fucking retarded who want this abolished because it's gonna have negative effects when they serve openly. Other straight men may not wanna get to close when they know this other man is gay and the Instructors at bootcamp will for sure make a few men fail because they are gay. I'm not saying it's right but it's

  • LMAO he sounds so funny

  • This is one brave man. Props to him! Man, the level of ignorance some of you are showing on this thread is staggering. I really don't give a crap who's screwing who in the military. What the hell does that have to do with someone's credibility to willingly fight for their country?

  • Homosexual Marty and Barney could hardly keep to themselves during this. Barney is a pro pocketpool player however so he made do.

When will America EVER find the ability to be ashamed of itself when it makes these perverted choices?

Okay, let them serve "openly," with one stipulation.

They MUST all be in one "proud" n "pink" platoon. Each year, we'll find some country to attack and send in our pink platoon - FIRST, ON FOOT, dressed in their preferred openly serving colors. Pink no doubt.

  • The don't ask don't tell policy does not ban gays from serving in the military they just can't be openly gay. If not telling your fellow soldiers your sexual preferences gets in the way of you serving your country then you should think twice about joining the military. I'm still thankful for the service he did for this country but I do disagree with him.

  • you are a total disgrace to the corps. an embarrassment.

  • fucking GAY WETBACK! GTFO!

  • Like everyone here I pray for the day when homosexuals can fight and die for the rich man. But until that beautiful day comes, we'll all just have to find comfort in the thought, that's it's probably a straight man blowing up your shit.

  • All Marines are gay (not that theres anything wrong with it).

  • You have to be kidding me?! I have never heard of a single straight man beat up by a large group of gay men...you're argument is completely flawed because it doesn't happen. And I made it through boot camp just fine.

  • Instead of "Semper Fidelis," their motto should be "Simpering Faggots." I was in the Army, and we never pranced around in those dainty white gloves.

  • Dont be pissed cuz our uniforms are 100 times better and sharper than yours. At least our dress blues dont look like shitty cheap pickle suits.

  • I don't dispute the fact that your uniforms are sharp; I must admit, gays generally are well-dressed, but with the appropriate feminine touches, like the darling, dainty white gloves.

  • lol hey we have some nice gloves you cant deny it. but before you start baggin about how we Marines are feminine.. why dont you go and actually HOLD a place like Fallujah?

  • Try Vietnam, our war. Our fellow Americans hated us, and some even waved enemy flags on the streets. As far as Marines being effeminate, I guess this video answers that. And, yes, there are those darling, dainty white gloves...

  • We can't hold it if you Marines have already lost it. That's why they sent the 82nd back in.

I know, I know... the truth hurts.

  • AHAHAHAHA!!! Amen!!!! :D

  • Gays are everywhere dumb ass... I would prove it...but I'm not allowed to tell, and you're not allowed to ask...

  • I'm not asking anything; I'm saying that machismo is often a front to cover up feminine tendencies in a male - and we all know how much the Marines stress machismo. Legally, you are entitled to your pillowbiting ways; being the Army veteran I am, I'll stick with the ladies, if you don't mind.

  • Actually, legally I am not entitled to my pillowbiting ways because don't ask don't tell prohibits homosexual conduct, but not actually being homosexual. and where did I say that I was the pillowbiter. Anyway, I'm active army, good to know that I have you're support.

  • Best of luck to you in your time in the US Army!

  • He just admitted that he's a Marine guys...

Especially due to the comment, "gays are everywhere".

I'm sure they are in his world.

  • ...No, where in any of my statements did I say I was a Marine.

  • When you said, "Gays are everywhere"

Only a Marine/Sailor could know that; they're ALL gay!

  • You're a bigoted dumb ass...

  • Comment removed

  • dont ask dont tell....everyone has em huuhuhuhuhuh LMAO!

  • I had the honor of serving with SSgt Alva at 29 palms MCB. SSgt Alva was one of the finest Marines in the platoon, he was awarded promotion faster than anyone I knew. He did this by being the best Marine. SSgt Alva was dedicated to being a marine and only feels that serving ones country is a honor and he and others should not have to hide who they are, because small minded people can not get past a personal choice. Hoorah SSgt Alva

  • where the hell do you get off first gay people have been beaten up, denied the right to marry and the right to sevre our country

  • Good you came out. Keep it up.

  • It doesn't matter if your gay or not in the military. Heck some people IN the army turn gay. And you cant really blabber on about this negatively until you've actually been there.

  • WOW THE LEFT IS ANGRY

  • maybe you should serve...as any number of things such as a target for rifle practice, a crash test dummy, a taste tester for pesticides. In other words, go fuck yourself. Make you don't like fags because you can't accept that you are one....

  • you are some sort of retard, aren't you?

  • I have mixed feelings about THAT. lol >:(

    Abolish don't ask don't tell!

  • LGBT or straight, anyone who can shoot well can kill well. They should abolish this stupid law.

  • @eviltreemonster YOU know NOTHING about law, especially this one.

This does nothing that prevents a homosexual from serving. IT ONLY PREVENTS THEM FROM MAKING ASSES OF OUR MILITARY BY OPENLY EXPRESSING THEIR SICK BEHAVIORS. Which could be anything from cross dressing and diaper wearing, to pink hats and thumbing their perverted noses at military codes of conduct.

The FACT IS, MOST WHO were EVICTED by DADT were because WAR CAME ALONG, and they made sure, everyone knew they were homo to get out!

  • @YOURpervertexposer

And you clearly know nothing about the LGBT community. I won't waste any more time on you. Goodbye.

  • Ok hypocrite

  • Yes I'm a hypocrite

  • Your reason is the same argument they made in the 1950's when they wanted woman to serve their country. That's not a real reason that won't happen they won't start fucking in front of you, your statement is close-minded and ignorant.

  • I think American is behind when it comes to gays in the Military. Israel and England both have gays serving openly in the Military. It has been shown that the homophobic people tend to be people who choose not to responed to their own feeling and get anger at people who do. As the song goes "You've got to be taught to be afraid, of people whose eyes are oddly made and people whose skin is a different shade, you've got to be carefully taught." Rodgers & Hammerstein, 1949. It seems to fit today.

  • This is to the Haters, Racists, Homophobes, and guys who like to beat women. You know, "macho men". Computer tough guy types.

I knew a gay Marine who took a GODDAMN bullet and DIED for his fellow Marine. For you so called 'straight" fellows, Would and could you do the same? Nah, it's because somebody else, a gay man, did something YOU, the macho so called "straight" would NEVER have enough balls to do. But HEY, at least you're tough on youtube. THAT must take alotta ballz! WOW!

  • @BoyishlyCuteBritYank

The Marine part screams louder than the gay part.

All veterans who served honorably are the same in my eyes.

    USN, MM2 (NUKE/SW), 2002-08

  • @mjwatts1983 and yet, if he served he still cannot get a marriage.

  • @BoyishlyCuteBritYank Don't believe this fagot troll. He IS NOT WAS NOT a MARINE. He spends his days caring for his fetishes (watching women smoke?) He's a typical EURO(probably Muslim) AMERICAN HATING queer who trolls for videos to chime in his discontent for America and its values. His true story from his own words is, he HATES ISRAEL, HE HATES AMERICA, HE probably hates himself, and for sure, will do everything he can to make sure we have men in pink panties dancing around in our military.

  • @BoyishlyCuteBritYank i know many straight Marines who have died for our felloow sister and brothers! ok?! just becuz a straight guy or gay guy die for one of us doesnt mean dat evrything they bellieve or do is right... i am greatful for ppl in general doing unselfish things like dat.. gay or straight but still dont support dat being gay is ok.. im not agaijnst gays just the act of being gay... and i am a christain saying dat.. so dont get condused.. im not judging..

  • @MyIsamar Yes, Yes you ARE judging. Christian or not, you are telling gay people that they not okay. When you say "being gay" it is the exact same as saying "gay people." You are saying that they are not okay. It like telling a Christian I don't dislike you. I just hate people who believe in God.

  • @TMBrd89 No he simply stated his opinion and you fucking judge him for it. I'm currently in the DEP waiting to go to Parris Island for boot. and I believe in God. I hate ppl who talk shit and don't have the balls to serve their country. No one cares what your opinion is you piece of shit.

  • @southernranger1 Oh I am sorry, I didn't know that only dogs of the military could have opinions. I am glad that you are serving. I thought that the medical profession would be a better use of my time and intelligence. I am an atheist, I support your right to believe in God, congratulations. I was only commenting on Mylsamar's hypocrisy or being "cool" with gays, just not what defines them. You know like hating a fish for swimming. So I have to ask, why did you bother commenting?

  • @BoyishlyCuteBritYank

Why jump for a bullet why you can just push them out of the way?

  • I met Eric Alva. He charming and witty. I love this man!

  • All marines are gay, wikipedia that shit. they turn gay at parris island, it's where faggots are made, so I read...

  • lol fag marines ftl

  • I do like America. I am British but I cannot believe that the "land of the free" cannot tolerate an openly gay marine who is prepared to die for his country. America can be very hypocritical.

  • I am very American and I can't deny that you are right, dead right!

  • BIRDTROOPER "credibility" of a gay military? Have you heard of Alexander THE GREAT?Peter THE GREAT? Both of these men were SUPERIOR military leaders AND gay. You may find it helpful to learn a little more about history before you make comments. I am pretty sure that when Alexanders troops(undefeated)were coming, people didn't think "Oh, this should be easy...he's gay".

  • Dallouez, I'm a supporter of the don't ask don't tell policy, but if you wanna slam someone don't be a dumbass.

The don't ask don't tell policy means that you're allowed to be gay as long as you don't tell anyone, and it's sad as all hell that you can't figure that out on your own.

Alva did not break any laws, and he's not breaking any laws now considering he's already been discharged.

  • I'll say it again, America is the weirdest country on earth. I can't believe the amount of hysteria surrounding sexual preference in a FREE FUCKING COUNTRY!!!

  • Wait, this is a free nation?!! Since when?!

  • It's the freest nation you'll probably ever live in. I don't agree with DADT, DOMA, or a number of the political freedoms republicans wish to censor, as well as the economic freedoms liberals wish to stifle, but this country has the marginal utility of both

  • as far as i can remember, this tour is to bolster equal treatment. its a sad fact that he had to lie.

and if you saw the same injustice done to you and your community im sure you would be just as upset. Gays don't have many rights TO defend anyways.

  • Gays have patriotism just as much, if not more than other people. As a former servicemember serving 12 years of service in the Navy, my goal, was the same as straights, to Support and Uphold the Constitution of the United States.

  • I just met Eric. Hes a great speaker and a nice guy. Keep fighting the good fight MSG Alva!

  • That fact is the industrialized world including many European nations and Israel and others allow gay and lesbians to serve openly and they have not experienced problems because of that decision.

  • (I should have proof read that, welp) not to mention that if one was to be openly gay it would make that soldier more vulnerable to his own units typical disdain for homosexuals, I believe they should (at least for their sake) simply continue serving without announcing that they are gay, afterall what's the point (having gay sex in the shower)? All it seems it could do is make an army look unimpressive to the people of the world who largely view it that way.

  • This is to Birdtrooper... It is sad the way you think. Do you honestly think it is so we can have gay sex in the shower? Getting rid of DADT isn't so we can flaunt being gay. It's more so that people like me won't lose our job if someone happens to see us holding hands with our boyfriends in public.

  • continued... Do you really think it matters to my coworkers who I have sex with? As long as I'm not raping anyone I think they will be okay. Don't you? Honestly a lot of the people that I work with know that I am gay (even people who think that it is morally wrong), but it still doesn't cause any problems at work.

  • That makes sense

  • Yes, it does. It's a shame that this is the 21st century and people still view us only in a sexual context. It's who we love that matters - exactly as it is with heterosexuals, but we are always subject to the "immoral sexual deviancy" card. I love my partner with all of my heart, and I don't "lust for other men in the shower."

I wish I could witness the day of equality, but it won't happen in my lifetime in this "christian" country, the "great" US of A.

  • Keep fighting many of us straight people are with you too. I think that if some people just have a perception of gays as not moral. Maybe if some such as yourself that are in a committed relationship would come forward more ofter there would not be that stigma.

  • No offense to gays but NEVER GONNA HAPPEN ! Not because gays are aautomatically bad soldiers(as obvious by this guy having been a marine) but rather because no military want to have it be recognized/associated as being the gay one, it would disrupt that armies credibilty in the world which views homosexual males as inferior combatants- contiued above-

  • "Agreed. If gays are allowed to be in the workforce, they should also be allowed to be in the military."

Please dont take this the wrong way...but the above comment is also about as ignorant as this whole episode. Don't you get it? Gay people are around you every day, you just dont know it. "allowing them in the workplace?" That is plain foolish...you work next to a gay person...trust me. You just dont know.

  • what an honorable man!

  • Superb, brave, patriot, when will America learn. If only other soliders were as brave.

  • Amazing. He is the definition of an American Hero. That is bravery.

  • He is my new hero. Way to go my friend.

  • I got chills when he said "who would've thought the first person injured would be a gay Marine"! Way to go, dude!

  • I served with SSgt Alva in the mid 90's and I wish I had half the heart he has in his little pinky. Im so proud of him.

    Semper Fi, Daryl

  • heh, he didn't make too much sense. he should have prepared a speech. But definitely brave!

  • THIS is bravery!

Our soldiers are fighting for ALL of us, not SOME of us!

Remember, "All men are created EQUAL"!

  • Agreed. If gays are allowed to be in the workforce, they should also be allowed to be in the military.

  • Good to go! 5 Stars.

    p.s.-that squeaky voice is adorable.

  • Bravo, but this guy needs a publicist.

  • Bravo Zulu, Marine!
