  • his words are so inspiring...i wish i could take his class on hip-hop history that he teaches at that one college.

  • nice for the yamaha ns-10m, digi control 24 pto tools hd (there are better daw's) always blurb for pro tools is good but so many daws that soun nicer but is the standard so pro tools for long

  • those NS10s should be swapped round..sigh.

  • that one look like newer tho ? nice man i know how ta use that

  • who dislike it is gay

  • I dont see what is so specual about pro tools? what can it do that other programs cant?

  • @MistaMayotte well because most professional equipment companies working together with protools and writing there own drivers for it

  • "If you have the talent, somebody will find you, and uhm, don't listen to people who say you can't do it, you know."

Wow. That's just what i needed. Thanks.

  • real talk

  • 0 dislikes after 2 years... shit better stay like that

  • @raymezee or else everyone DIES

  • @raymezee when u said that, someone dislikes it on purpose.

  • @raymezee u had to say it....

  • @raymezee 1=))

  • @raymezee way to jynx shit, son...

  • dis man knows what hes doing.

  • POSITIVITY thats what im talking about.

  • anyone know the name of the song @ 3:16 ?

  • @goose7885 it's from his leaky beats vault

  • @beastnstuff Good lookin out

  • I also started with Cool Edit Pro and Hammer.

Now I use FL Studio 10.

I just hope that I can be as good as 9th someday.

  • @eMJayRecordz be you and you will be good in your own light …sometimes it isn't how mechanical and complex your beats sound as it is just good sounds stay up

  • Whats the name of the song on 2:10?

  • 0:16 - '9th wonder jazz'

    2:10 - 'Sunday'

  • whats the beat at the begining?

  • song at 3:16?

  • isnt that the beat curren$y used?!

  • Anybody know the name of the mellow beat during the intro? #Dopeness

  • guys i need to know beat at "some wisdom for future producers" I heard it before havin a flashback how dope it was. lookin

  • I have more respect for 9th Wonder than any other producer. He is completely thoughtful about the music he makes - it isn't just making something that sounds nice. Fucking sick.

  • So bx8a are not the best monitors, krk rp8 or the yamaha's are almost twice as expensive.

How would the bx8a hold up for using as a home sound system? It would seem that you get more quality with these speakers than when you use a hifi system (you pay for looks and brands etc). Tell me what you think.

  • What type of mixer bard is that ? the big one?

  • @rashaadp I believe that's a Digidesign Control 24.

  • keep up the good work!

  • Anyone know what those rectangular things next to his BX8 monitors are? Are they subowoofers? what is the brand and model? any info is greatly appreciated.

  • @docworker420 yamaha ns-10 monitors. Bx8 monitors are shitttt -- check any other video 9th is using yamaha hm80's.

  • @wholewheatpita thank you wholewheatpita, totally appreciate it. Can u elaborate on why u think BX8's are shit? Also, why does 9th vouch for BX8's if they suck, just coz M Audio paid him to say so? Yeah, i have seen other videos with the hm80's fer sure, but not in combination with the ns-10's... any advantage to adding ns-10's to ur setup if u already have monitors (i have KRK Rokit 8's)... again, any info from anyone is greatly appreciated

  • @docworker420 i used to have the krk rp6s loved them sadly my ex broke those so i did look for new monitors i ended up getting the NEW BX8;'S (d2's) the ones front his video are the (bx8a) ....seems like there was a lot of problems with the bx8a ....they vouch for fixing it in the new line and i love these monitors i can't complain

  • @wholewheatpita really? I have them and I think they are great.. plus BT uses them also and he mixed orchestras on them.

  • @orangeguy81 I mean they are ok, but they are more like speakers than monitors. Not to mention the engineering on them is not that spiffy. Metal, especially tin and aluminum naturally expands and grows at a molecular level -- this is 90% of the reason why people have problems with the BX8a's shorting out or malfunctioning. Just saying, for that price range you can get the mackie mr5's which are real nice.

  • @wholewheatpita I would have to agree on them being more like speakers, but my uncle works for avid and he can get m-audio stuff really cheap so I usually buy a lot of their stuff. lol

  • @wholewheatpita Im a house music producer, well gettin there anyway, but im lookin for speakers which will not give a false sound, for e.g. when i play it through the speakers it sound great but when i play it on my ipod or car it sounds shit? anyone know what i could buy ? Krk's maybe ? im not sure :\

  • @montyladd how about the m audio speakers u just saw the video for? :p

  • @wholewheatpita I have BX8a's and i'm looking to step up. They make already mixed music sound great, but they are not true flat speakers. I"m looking into focal cms 40 or 50. Even though they are smaller speakers, they will have truer sound.

  • @MmaNcovers no doubt dude, focal is crazy nice... but I would only invest in them if I had a real dead room for monitoring.

  • @MmaNcovers is your room treated?

  • @j1mbafr0sty no not professionally treated. I get really nice mixes but i know for a fact adam audio speakers or focals will deliver a truer sound especially when it comes to adding reverb etc.

  • @wholewheatpita Damn thats bullshit.. the yamaha's have a good high end, but their low end lacks big time! For hip hop I would higly recommend BX over Yamaha hm. BX is better overall..

  • Protools pulled the biggest burn over the industry the last 10 years....now they offer an "open architecture" PT9....really?

If you were using the LE version...you got burned. I happened to own an HD Protools setup for a couple of years...then had to sell due to financial situations (recession!)...im back from that and now use Sonar....and WOW. So it really irks me to hear this guy say "the standard"...i hate music producers who are not musicians....they pollute the market

  • @gruponemesis 9th is a musician he plays instruments too.

  • @ColdGripHandle good to know...still stand by protools rant

  • @gruponemesis Hey man I agree with you 100% about protools you are just stating the facts. In my opinion Cubase was always the better program but some how Protools had people in a vice.

  • @ColdGripHandle I hear you...They pretty much all fucntion the same. At 1 time protools was superior only because the cards it came with relieved the stress on the computer...but when multi core processing came out...the writing was on the wall. My setup is a quad core 3.2, 4 gigs or ram, 4 hard drives, sonar x1, motu hd 192 and motu 1296, win7...i run flawlessly ...ive tried to crash my system w 150 tracks of audio...and she wont give up...let alone i can run plug ins on all tracks flawlessly

  • @gruponemesis Wow I always wondered what was up with the new processors today. I still haven't upgraded . So tell me , if you have them, how many Waves plugins can you run in a mix? Can you put a Waves SSL plugin on every channel?

Seriously dude I still have a pentium 4 and I'm beginning to make that move

  • @ColdGripHandle Waves plugins are no issue for me...I run them at will. I really recommend sticking to intel chipsets and pentium processors. Treat your self to a quad core, i3,i7 or i5 along w proper motherboard and ram...and at least 2 hard drives. Im running waves diamond pack and everything ever made by Nomad Factory...they are both intensive...but my setup can handle it like a champ. I will upload a video soon of my workflow and my work load so you and anyone else can see.

  • @gruponemesis thanks I'd love to see that

  • if anyone knows the instrumental at the end IT IS THE SICKEST SHIT I HAVE EVER HEARD and i would be sooooooooo grateful if you told me the song. I downloaded his complete discography and went through every song but i cant find it!

  • @Tiirmanology NO! Its Instrumental #7 by 9th Wonder. Curren$y's producers (Monsta Beatz) used it as a sample for the track "Elevator Music"
