A friend introduced me to the movie. Said I'd like it.

I asked him if he didn't mind saying it again and he said no. I've seen it three times since, one of my favorite movies by far. There are some strong messages in it worth reflecting upon. Highly recommended.

This is one of the greatest films ever made.

It is fantastic, but i don't recommend that anyone see it. It is not what you think it is...relentlessly so, actually.

I have seen literally thousands of movies, and this movie is the best I have ever seen. Some of the other classics like Shawshank Redemption, Saving Private Ryan cannot hold a candle to this movie. It had EVERYTHING a movie can have. Just dazed and speechless for weeks after I saw this movie.

If you liked Oldboy, you should check out the other films in the vengeance trilogy, Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.

Also Memories of Murder is good too.

I agree. I would never have seen it coming, even if it is quite a sick twist lol. This is my favorate film, its the music man, it gets me everytime time.

I didn't know anything about the film when I saw it first. I read something about the fight scene in a film mag, then saw it at a local DVD rental and got it out. The twist was gut-wrenching, and it still gets me every time.
