  • @Origional79s

The Hawaiians would shit their pants and run like hell!

  • This is not a ship-it is a rearing, bucking bronco! it is amazing what a small ship can take- brave boat and crew!

  • Chuck norris is in the bath !

  • Hard weather ! brave sailors

  • I feel seasick just watching it!

  • sorry boys! No lunch.

  • that boat looks very top heavy... brave people onboard...

  • strom in a tea cup!

  • holy balls of god!

  • this is....... wow poor ppl

  • it a average gale blowing, hard weather still not severe, there is not the water lying by with the wind like a snow storm, and the sea seems not be like boling milk, which it would, true enough - to be, if the storm was blowing with the force of 12

  • Even though i ride and drive boats. That would have probably made me feel sick >.<

  • Honestly, that boat is taking the waves pretty good compared to its size. Our school ship got waves over the rail all the time in 2-3m waves, and its 55m long.

  • The seamans had been normal shaked in that storm.

  • Holy Shit!!! It takes brake men and women to work a job like that.

  • They sure have a lot of faith in their rivets. Now what would be wrong with just turning around and slowly going with the flow??? Oh yeah, the company that owns the ship might have its delivery delayed by a few hours. Better to risk the whole ship and crew, they can always collect the insurance money.

  • @TheRadicalLiberal It can be the ultimate mistake to try and turn in something like that..

  • @TheRadicalLiberal IF you were not rolled as you turned then you would probably get broached and rolled as you tried to "go with the flow". To me it looks as if the skipper is doing the best possible thing: maintain enough speed to control your heading and stay straight on to the waves. In fact the boat may be going the "wrong" way for company profit.

  • Well made ship :-)

  • @TMelvinaSN Ofcourse.. It's proudly made in Norway.

  • @TMelvinaSN yessssssss

  • I'm going on my first trip in January to the Carribean, Ibefore booking I read sonme good articles at cruisesforthefamily (.) com

  • man is that ever scary, i am a boats man and this looks ever soooooo serious, great vid.

  • you must hav ball`s of iron mate

  • i feel sea sick just from watching this

  • wow... that's a heli-deck on the front isn't it?30-40 ft waves and a 50-70 foot pitch? Wow. and I though 15-20 ft waves in the Gulf were bad.

  • ANOTHER LOVELY DAY IN THE NORTH SEA!!! Hahahaha

  • :O........that is all...

  • My balance organs would be fucked up after something like this, just like they were in Thailand a few years ago when they decided to take us on a trip in a small boat to the James Bond islands with extremely bad weather. Damn, I didn't get sick of it, but I couldn't walk straight for days...

Much respect to these people and their job.

  • pinglevær ;)

  • Why such a short clip?

  • looks like it could just fall over

  • Now I want to see an Ulstein X bow filmed in these conditions and from this position. Please....

  • Short and sweet, but it says a lot in a short space of time.

    Andy.

  • let's go do a wheelie with a ship

  • If the weather were always like that, I'd be totally happy. Who needs sunshine, I hate it.

  • @voxhunden you shud be an emo sailer

  • @avengerizer16 No, I just hate dry weather, it makes me feel numb. Storm opens up my mind, 300% more focus and concentration. I got my maths degree in high school thanks to a period of stormy weather. Did 2 years in 3 weeks:)

  • that would suck to be on the toilet at this time

  • jeg ville kanskje blitt sjøsyk der. Kanskje

  • great video, now imagine the portuguese and spaniards, who discovered the new world on board of wooden small nut shell ships. truly amazing!

  • This ship knows how to flyy ;-)

  • I feel sad for the people who put up with this

  • See me waving, I'm the green guy!

  • This is the life on AHTSV....

  • minchia

  • we didn^t;)

  • how do they not puke all the time?

  • just think of the money...

  • Looks like it is barely making any headway. Just riding the waves. Also whats with all the Antenna. That is a lot for an oil rig supply ship. Nice footage.!!

  • atlantic eh.. wow thats some serious shit...

  • well done to the people who man"d that ship :) they did good

  • Great piece of film. Having been in seas like that I know what they are going through, it's very tiring, you can't sleep or eat, you just hang on. Thanks for posting.

  • I can always sleep -- doesn't matter what we're going through!

  • All that fresh air rammed into yer lungs!

  • that's scary

  • This was an awesome view of the vessel in the ocean. I would be sick though if I had to do this job. How did you manage ever to get such a great view of this? It was incredable.

Ron! Bravo and 100% for such a fine post.

  • It's filmed from the rig

  • FUCK THAT!

  • Gosh, you don't have to speak Norske to understand the word SJØSYK haha

  • Wonderful. How the hell was this filmed anyway? From a helicopter? It's so steady! I don't see how this could just be a movie, but it's wierd. If it IS a chopper, then THAT is suicidal. A ship is built to sail in shit like this; a helicopter isn't! And a ship has lifeboats and all that. In a helicopter, IF you survive the crash and escape the wreck, you'd be lucky to have a lifejacket, let alone a raft. God Bless the god-damn Coast Guard! LOL. Good luck boys (and girls!)

  • It's filmed from a platform you doofus; an oil or gas platform.

  • Oh, fuck you too. And thanks for the info.

  • omg that looks bad.

  • when it is good it is ok. when it is bad it is pure hell. DID THIS SHIT FOR 12 YEARS.

  • OMG. Awesome clip.

  • Job for real men, everyday in hell.

  • How could you do that i would be scared shitless

  • damn, looks like a toy!

  • I hope they brought some dramamine.

  • wow am i crazy or does that ship look way top heavy? im scared just watching the video,, mad respect for the humans on board that ship,,, god speed ladies and gents!!!!!!

  • That are some serious waves. Good thing the ships are built to stand it, otherwhise there'd be another wreck on the bottom of the sea.

My respects to the ladies and gentlemen who are working in these kind of conditions, you are tough.

  • S H I T . °_° ...now I have find the kind of work I ABSOLUTELY WOULD'NT DO even if paid 10.000 euro/month.

  • is it filmed from a chopper?

  • no, from the oil rig

  • steel balls, my respects seaman

  • 78ft waves, that would class as rough, if the northsea were deeper waves probably wouldn't be so high. these ships have to stay on station when everything else runs for safety of harbours, so are built well

  • I love my work.

    easy work.

  • poor guys on that ship :O

  • 1 meter is just longer than a yard, which is 3 feet.

  • what is your guess-timate on wave height? looks like peaks around 50ft?

  • it's about 24 meters. I tryed a converter wich made 24 meters into 78 feet, but i guess it's a difference between english feet and us feet, but if i remeber right some guy told me 1 meter was 2 american feet, so if your'e american 50 feet sounds about right.

  • thanks...1 meter is about 3.3ft. 24 x 3.3=80ft

  • There is no such thing as "American feet". There are just feet from the British Engineering System which are in use in the USA too. 1 metre = 3.28 feet

  • @robiduff LOL, there is no such thing as an English foot and American foot, a foot is a foot and its 78 (almost 79) feet.

  • @robiduff 1meter is about 39 inches---call it 3 feet for guesstimating

  • @robiduff Hello...there is no difference between feet and feet.....all feet and inches are the same around the world as is the metric system..........the two systems of measurement are called "Imperial" and "Metric"......)

  • @robiduff 3.29 feet = 1 meter. 3.29 x 24 = 78.96 feet ~ 79 feet.

  • nah! I've dived in worse!

    Not really!

  • The welders who built the hull would be proud...

  • cool as fuck

  • ja ska fan jobba på ett supply fartyg sen när ja e klar med min utbildning

  • wow! Fucking hell!!

  • O! Really bad weather. "Ride the storm", looks like cowboy show. Definitely guys onboard did not sleep that nignt :-(

  • OH MY GOD, i didnt know the sea could get that rough...

  • pf these waves are pretty extreme

  • Where were the people standing at when they were shooting the vid?

  • at the oil rig

  • eh is it just me or does that boat look a little disproportioned. that boat doesnt look like it was made right?

  • sure it was made right, how do you think the boat is disproportioned?

  • Ahh its just me than, still looks kind of funny for a boat though huh?

  • it's an old ship so dosen't look so modern.

  • i work on this boat!! thats nothing hehe

  • Ooooh It gives me wooooooood

  • Would you have risked turning her in such bad sea?.

  • good question

  • pretty intense

  • Yes it's the North Sea again.

  • fekk sjålyst ej no!!!

  • De der er DÅRLIG vær !!!! :)

  • This is pretty cool, cant wait till i join the marines and get caught in this kinda storm. I think its really cool, sick rollercoaster ride :P

  • thats what you think, its scary shit but it is fun, its really dangerous though.

  • Damn lol, i guess we shouldn't underestimate the power of mother nature lol.

  • Good jump on 0:31 :))) I guess there were some flying lockers :)))

  • Are there not limitations when you have this kind of weather?! You can go out in the sea like this?!

  • of corse, no problem, but we can't do any work for the oil rig, so but we get payed for each day we are there so we just stay put in any kind of weather.

  • The only limitation is the content of your stomach:)))

  • thanks for reminding me why I left my seagoing career :-)

  • That looks really topheavy?

  • jesus christt !

  • pretty rough there like to get a job on her

  • wow thats insane

  • jiha. Det så digg ut.

  • That looks REALLY bad.

  • cojonudo, si señor

  • that looks fun

  • wow!!!
