Plus, it'd be kinda stupid to bail off in that situation. The bike will do nothing bad. It'll probably break your fall. It's not like he was about to come up 10 feet short on a 90 foot triple and he was just trying to land on the downside...
Some asshole on cracked said Doug Henry's injury was nothing amazing. I told him to go fall 6 stories, break your spine and try and walk again. Yeah he shut up.
the reason he over jumpped was due to him landing awkwardly on the jump before. and every TRUE rider knows "when in doubt throttle out." so he did just that, which pulled him out from being out of control. yet gave him to much speed coming into the next section... thats why he over jumped
Doug always had a smile on his face. I like to imagine he was still smiling on his way down thinking I'm gonna save this. Never cocky just confident. Just a good guy who has run into some bad luck (and Stacy as well). Hope everyone sends their well wishes to them here. Never know, they may actually read your best regards.
@julian1021 Poor guy cant chatch a break, paralized, whatched his wife suffer through breast cancer, and now all this new shit. My dad knew him scince high school. They used to ride in the hills of shelton. They both went to Shelton High, in Ct...

Ya AG27214 U have nooo idea how to ride cause i guess you have never ride a bike too.cause how do you know that is throttel got stuck he probaly forgot that that hill was a single!!!!!Dumbass
Oh, and I was there, too. On the hill opposite of the camera and Cooper hill about 20ft below the Announcer's Tower.
I actually raced the Saturday before on the same track in the 125B, 250B and Schoolboy classes.
We slept in a camper for 3 days and I've even got some signed T-shirts from the damn thing.
I've been to Loretta Lynn's Nationals 4 times as a 125 & 250-A rider, the Mini-O's in Gainesville (raced against Ricky Carmichael there) 3 times before that and will use you for traction.
two things: One, His throttle was stuck and i was there when it happened and Two, to adjust the bike is to do the oppistie of what BongSabre said,,, It goes like this
I don't care what anyone says. You cannot even make an excuse up for that. You can tell that he didn't do that by accident. Being out of shape wouldn't make you over jump by 100 feet lol. If his throttle got stuck, he could have dumped it or anything. There is absolutely no excuse.
I know that no one would ever willingly jump like that. But there is no excuse for doing that. His best option would have been to dump the bike, not stay on it if something went wrong.
im pretty sure you dont ride very often or very good, but have you ever herd of a throttle ride, or of it getting stuck wide open? and you very rarely want to bail.
his account name is raptr so he obviously rides a yamaha craptor. Quads are for pussies! lol bailing is the last thing you want to do. More often then not you can save it.
sure, the technique... has been around for who knows how long, but the TERM scrubbing wasn't really defined until the last couple of years (ie. bubbascrub) This is why people say Stewie brought a new style of riding to the sport.
For all who are interrested, Doug Henry is puting on the New England Supermoto Grand Prix this year at Stafford Springs Speedway,on August 9th. I'm sure he would be very grateful if a lot of people showed up.
So big deal, Henry came in and won on a bike other people said was worthless. How does this affect your life? Besides, if the 2-strokes were so great, why did he beat them all again and again (AFTER breaking his back at BC, mind you)? I got news for you pal, if Yamaha didn't put up the bucks, Henry would still be riding a two-stroke now, so if you're going to blame someone, blame them. Besides, no more loud, whiny, polluting two-strokes... big loss.
first off man i do know that it was the enviromentalist that help in usher in the 4 stroke era . but it was also put to my attenion in a artical in Racer X magazine that him and a bunch of R&D guys from yamaha were talking about introducing a prodotype four stroke race bike into market around 1997 Yamaha Backed the idea and thats what started the new fourstroke era

BongSabre is right, but you can't get your Rear Tire Up...you can just get the Front Tire down!
Front Tire UP: Blip Throttle
Front Tire DOWN: Tap Rear Brake
He means the right thing but said it incorrectly!
Kaeptn1988 3 years ago
what's happened?

Oh, and I was there, too. On the hill opposite of the camera and Cooper hill about 20ft below the Announcer's Tower.

You either misread or I didn't illustrate clearly enough for the Middle School crowd:
To get the Front Tire Up: Blip Throttle.
To get the Rear Tire Up: Tap Rear Brake.
Is that better, hope I didn't break your mind by inferring you had a lick of sense.
BongSabre 3 years ago
Saying "front tire up" and "to get front tire up" have two totally differant meanings.
fool. dont try and sound like you knew what you were talking about.

Adjusting attitude in mid-air is as simple as this:
Front Tire Up: Blip Throttle.
Rear Tire Up: Tap Rear Brake.
It's simple physics.
It was either the world's worst Panic Rev, or his throttle was stuck.
BongSabre 3 years ago
Bongsabre your an idiot. Obvisouly you do not ride, and if you do I would love to see you hitting your back break while your front end is down..

Want proof that his throttle was stuck?
Watch his bike's attitude when he's coming down. His back tire was steadily sneaking underneath him. His bike was nearly vertical.
BongSabre 3 years ago
I don't care what anyone says. You cannot even make an excuse up for that. You can tell that he didn't do that by accident. Being out of shape wouldn't make you over jump by 100 feet lol. If his throttle got stuck, he could have dumped it or anything. There is absolutely no excuse.
raptr117 3 years ago
HAHA are you fucking stupid?
no would EVER willingly over jump that far from that height.
he probably saw staying on the bike as the better option than bailing out.
