And apparently hangul was created because koreans couldn't learn chinese characters properly and so korean script is called the stupid script in Japan. Don't know if it's true though. If characters are based on the shape of your mouth, then I guess hangul is for those who can't learn efficiently. To us who can comprehend anything, from the hardest math to particle physics, we don't need a child-easy script. I can learn anything!
Name all kinds of benefits, it still won't make a language better.
Lol, most scientific? How? What's wrong with latin? Works perfectly in computer programing and for pinyin input method. If you have an awful low self-esteem issues, then seek a psychiatrist. Don't create absolute nonsense about your language & script just to compensate for your tiny genitals or whatever bothers you. Just look at this video. It's made for ignorant audiences. Lol, brits would laugh at this. Just look at comedy shows on BBC and see how foolish you are.
I think Aboriginal of Australia should learn hangul too. As far as I know, the illiteracy rate for them is much lower than non-aboriginal. They can't read and write. Hangul Promotion in Australia can help them to solve this problem.
I don't think that it would help them. The Korean language has much fewer sounds than either English or Aboriginie so it's simpleness would be much reduced.
If they were learning it to preserve their native languages, maybe. But Korean isn't the best script to write English with - the English language is just phonologically too complicated to pound down with fixed sounds.
@Kennychan222 ...but they live in australia. I'm sure if they haven't already integrated, learning english, for them, could be a short walk away. A few years in school and they could be very literate. I'm not trying to make them sound lazy but...it's right there, people!
Talk about a self-masturbation video for Koreans who lack self esteem in their language or somefhing .... this is really embarassing and I think Koreans need to fight to get this thing off the internet...
not stupid, considering even Japanese and Chinese do it as well. There used to be 29 characters which it end up cut into only 24, so other five scripts are for FZV & TH. If you don't care, why did you even watched this vid. Singapore used English not Singaporean language.
we can used it, after few hundreds of years using it, because of native Korean words didn't need all other five extra scripts, but we can always re-introduce if needed.
my engrish is fine, your engrish is just another singaporean engrish, learn the real engrish little man. it's funny how you accused me being ignorant when you have been ignorant from start. i wonder why you singaporeans are stuck at that small island island. what have singapore contributed to this world lately?
Oh God, it isn't a question of which alphabet is the best one. Spanish is quite regular in its orthography. Look at English. I think for people with dislexia, to learn read spanish would be easier than english. Chinese or Japanese (kanji) is harder
Lokie: Hangeul is ideally suited for Korean, and it may work for certain other languages with similar phonologies, but I agree that it won't work well with every other language.
For example, French and Portuguese have certain nasal sounds that Korean lacks, while Arabic, Hebrew, German, Dutch etc. have certain guttteral (throat) sounds not found in Korean.
Also, there are tonal languages like Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese etc.
Hangeul is simple and fairly consistent, but Cyrillic is too.
It is an undisputed fact that the Korean writing system is the most creative and scientific one in the world.
It is also an undisputed fact that the Japanese writing system (hiragana & katakana) is only an abbreviation of Chinese. Koreans taught Japanese how to read and write since the 3rd century AD, but it was in the 15th century when the Korean writing system was invented.
You have pointed out a very important fact. Had Hangul been invented earlier and more widespread use of Hangul occured in Korea, the islanders would have used Hangul also.
The Korean writing system really is easy to learn. Last year, I managed to memorize the Hangeul in just a few days. This video explains its simplicity perfectly. Thanks for sharing! :)
gal, what's your concern? I'm a korean myself. and i love the language and culture. what about the chili peppers? they are no crap, just like korean is no crap. get a little info about them and take it with some sense of humor.

Not true. The Latin Alphabet can NOT produce all sounds that the human mouth can make.
It can't produce many sounds from Arabic.

It was already too late to educate the islanders.

Hangeul is not a "language." It is a writing system. The language, Korean, is not invented; the writing system, Hangeul, is.
