Now, the price of oil is up b/c there isn't enough supply, which is another way of saying there is an oil shock. It's really that simple. I am a futures and currencies trader, I am fully aware of the situation with currency inflation and oil. Oil is higher than it has ever been, even with inflation. Also the supplies are NOT low, that is a myth, I know because I look at the EIA Petroleum Status Reports.

They make many statements on supply and price. Crude oil inventories are down according to the report. Gasoline production increased according to the latest report but that doesn't comment on the long term chart. This is a tool to report current numbers it says nothing about where our oil will come from one 10 years from now. Lastly, it reports on U.S. inventories only and says nothing about foreign reserves. You can't base long term fed policy on this report.
