Yep thats pretty small even for the UK standards. Iv seen smaller. There was one Iv seen that you could just get a bed in, it had one window and you couldnt open the door fully. It was horrendously expensive for its size but it was somewhere like Chelsea which is a very rich area.

I've seen smaller, where the door opens outwards and basically the room is exactly the size of a bed. So you just climb into bed, there is no ground. lol

Living in central tokyo is very expensive..room like this cost 15- 20,000Y.. space is important in japan... especially because of their large population..

AT least you had a seperate room. I had to share 12 to a room, with a kitchen and toilet just about 3 1/2 times bigger than that in Tokyo ! hhehe

Actually, many apartments here in Tokyo are this size. My friend's cousins apartment is about this size.

@TaskiyahEmaani yes and there is also something known as pods, which are tiney rooms with only a bed and places to put clothes which u cant even stand up in =] u 4get this is Japan where anything is possible ^_^
