  • You eat no meat, dairy, salt, sugar. You do all those wonderful things, then go and destroy your body by COOKING those foods rather than eating them raw. What a waste of time and energy. Only raw foods are truly natural. It is such a spiritual violation of the spirit of that food to cook it. Ditch the heat and respect the spirit. I personally am a Breath-arian. I get all I need from breath alone. I have respected the life in plants for over a week now and am doing fine.

  • Mashed potatoes processed with animal products? Yuck.

  • nice video and vegan support :D just wish you used more fresh vegatables and fruit :( otherwise still a nice vid :)

  • Monsanto would love this menu: heavy on the soy (a poor choice for protein), and mostly processed and GMO. Very little in this video was "fresh" or organic. And Tofurky is full of scary chems.

    How is this healthy eating?

  • @waterlilyjaguar7 I think you'r missing the point here. First of all, Thanksgiving dinner is almost never about healthy eating. There are certain dishes that people expect to have for Thanksgiving dinner, like turkey, stuffing and gravy, and it makes it feel festive and traditional. I'm offering animal-friendly alternatives here. I don't eat the things I prepared in this video on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis. But sometimes it's okay to let go a little.

  • @librarising79 Sorry, but any meal can be made in a healthy way. All it takes is come effort and education. Your statement "animal fat clogs up your arteries" is only partially true: animal fat in large quantities is unhealthy, but so are GMO and additives. The truth the vegans do not want to accept is that *some* nutrients found only from animals are essential, such as B-12 and some of the omega 3s. For that matter, sustainable farming is not possible without animals.

  • @waterlilyjaguar7 Why don't you do a video on GMO, additives and sustainable farming and educate us unintelligent vegans? I personally start my day with a protein shake with calcium carbonate powder added, I take many supplements and eat many fruits and vegetables. I do my research, too.

  • @librarising79 Sorry, but any meal can be made healthy with some effort and education. Your broad statement that "animal fats clogs arteries" is only partially true: in LARGE AMOUNTS it is unhealthy, but so are GMO and additives. The truth is, most vegans have little knowledge of nutrition or even sustainable farming, both of which are impossible without animal participation. Ignorance may be bliss, but it is not healthful...

  • @waterlilyjaguar7 Vegan B-12 supplements are available. You sound like you have some kind of issue against vegetarians/vegans. I never understood how it could be threatening. I don't go around criticizing other people who eat meat or dairy, I only offer alternatives. You seem to have trouble understanding that this particular video was focused on VEGAN alternatives to a holiday meal. This was not intended as an educational course on healthy food. I'll get to that at another time.

  • I hope you know those kroger instant mashed potatoes contains milk.

I used to be vegan but now I'm vegetarian I HAVE TO HAVE DAIRY I JUST GOTTA

  • @fuckinmars I don't just avoid dairy for ethical reasons, I figure it's not worth the coronary. Animal fat clogs up your arteries. And it's fattening, period. And you may be right about the mashed potatoes, I will definitely look into it!

  • @fuckinmars Just FYI, this year I'm making my vegan mashed potatos from scratch! Gotta love Earth Balance margerine...

  • I'm making Tofurkey this year for myself, and I'll be making my own separate potatoes with Soy Milk and Earth Balance "butter".

I'm a minor, and my parents eat meat and dairy, sooo I'm the only one who will try to cook as vegan as I can. XD

  • @ToxicMonkies Good for you! I like Earth Balance. They also make a soy-free version, and I wish they made it without canola oil, but so far they don't. You ought to try coconut milk sometime if you can find it where you get your groceries.

  • @ToxicMonkies Check out Turtle Mountain dot com :)

  • The veggie food looks good, but what's Thanksgiving without a steaming turky, stuffing, cranberry sauce, bisquits, mashed potatoes, green beans, and pumpkin pie?

    ...

    Crap, just made myself hungry.

  • @MountainFox51 Well the whole point of being vegetarian is that you give up the meat, or at least find other tasty foods to substitute it with. And who said you had to give up the stuffing, cranberry sauce, biscuits, potatoes, green beans and pie? Not me!

  • My kids a vegetarian and I'm trying to find alternatives for her Thanksgiving dinner

(I try to support her in this terrible vegetarian endeavor, myself I'm a rare steak eating hunter)

Not sure if I'm gonna try the Toefurkey thing. I'd appreciate idea's or recipes

  • @bigsammieking I applaud you for being so supportive despite the fact that you are in fact a carnivor. I am considering putting together an allergen-free cookbook and cooking show on my newer channel, "carilynnproductions". Do look me up over there and send me a friend request.

  • Mmmm tofurky and soynog. I can't wait for the holidays =]

  • yessssssssss vegan and veges are the best

  • yaaay go veg baby! wooooooo

  • LOL Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving.

  • It's been great to have this variety of products in my country, argentina. The vegan industry here is not so prolific

  • Go Vegan!

  • Mmmm. Science I can eat!

  • Great video! I didn't baste mine as good as you:-( I didn't have a brush:-(

  • More vegans/vegetarians should try nut roast on Thanksgiving. It's soooo much better than Tofurkey. What is the big deal with Tofurkey anyway? It's awful!

  • Nut roast? Jeez I never even heard of it. Where do you get it?

  • Happy Thanksgiving!

  • I have been a vegetarian for 3mos now, wasn't sure what I was gonna do for thanksgiving this year but you've given me many ideas for this years "vegetarian dinner" thanks :) by the way your menu looks great it's making me hungry! :)

  • hey congrats on being vegetarian! i guess its 4 months now! good for you :)

  • brussel sprout stuffed tofurkeys!

  • Busting out the TOfurky, right on. The sweet po recipe (all of the replacement sweeteners) sounded interesting. Kroger, they are the bastards who stopped selling my TVP.

  • I see jars and tins! Eeeeeep!

  • yeah i thought it was going to be more "homemade" but it looks like it turned out really good

  • You mean all from scratch? Is that how you do it?

  • i wont say everything, we do buy the cramberry sauce and turkey. but we do cook everything else from scratch like the mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, the stuffing..etc. its much better :)

  • Oh that looks so,nasty....lol
