  • PHILLY

  • I like it, thats the truth

  • absolutely wonderful, they are amazing live!

  • excellent.

  • black thought live is better than most studio rappers, who when put on stage need 3 or 4 hype men filling in lines for them

live performance is a very important aspect of being a mc, and this guy is without a doubt the best live performer around

havin that ok band helps too, i guess, haha

  • hmmm Dr. DRE is exceptionally great in this regard.. infact many suspect, upon first listening, that he's lip syncing.. thats how good he is.. check him out.

  • @behtashbg I've been to a lot of hip hop shows, and no emcee was more impressive than Reef the Lost Cauze. No hype men, no entourage, no band, just him and a DJ.

Black Thought is one of my favorites, but he's never without his hype man.

  • Incredible smooth flow. I haven't heard someone flow as well as Black Thought since Big Daddy Kane.

  • this is best live video.

  • that's myfa lie too!been a fan since Proceed.....they just keep elevating the sound of urban hip-hop.

  • beautiful sounds and conscious vibes.

    thanks for posting.

  • So HOT!

  • -to rhyme requires skill i demand some shown- perfectly said

  • hey hey that's the point of the song n'est-ce pas? Being mainstream isn't the objective, it's about being unique and the Roots achieve it even if they don't sell as many records or are as well recognised as they would like. Just cause something is artistically brilliant, doesn't mean it'll be hugely popular...

  • @muzace exactly, mesi anpil

  • @muzace Most things that are artistically brilliant are not popular, usually, anymore. Those days are long gone, but maybe (and hopefully) will return in the future .

  • Roots crew!

  • Damn I missed these times, I cant believe what Hip Hop is nowadays, lets go back to this time when real hip hop ruled the music world.

  • You say it as if the Roots are through. No, hip hop is still alive. It's just not as popular on the mainstream.

But I agree; we need more of this.

  • I for one am completely suprised that the southern rap phase is still going on. I think the pendulum may swing back to lyrical shit sooner or later, as far as the mainstream goes.

Until then I'll stick to my underground.

  • GOD BLESS THE RIDDEM!!!

this is real music, with soul and heart!!!

Hip Hop is just almost dead.....PEACE

  • This is real hip hop, so much respect for playing the instruments, they deserve so much

  • I was lookin for this everywhere ...Thanks for postin' the problem is that they finally did what they said they would never do...still love yall ?uest, Black though, Malik B, love eternal

  • ?uestlove Is A Genius, Rahzel And Black Thought Are Great Too. Together They Are Wonderful. Roots Crew, Word Up!

  • another great roots song

  • classic :D

  • The Roots are very underrated. They are like a hidden gem.

  • man the roots are soo gud musically aswell as vocally

  • best song ever

  • Notice how tight the music and the sound are; most crews sound wack live when playing on DATs, these guys control that on instruments. Respect!

  • The Roots rocks, period.
