You should try listening to the CD, I think there's plenty of variation, but It doesn't necessarily come across in 30 seconds. It does in the full songs, IMO.

The only songs David did not write are Light On and Come Back to Me.

I am getting his album for my birthday and I shocked my mom by telling her that I wanted it! I am actually surprised as to how much I like this! Archie's is really good too. I can't compare the two because they are two completely different individuals and they sing different genres. They will both do amazing though! God Bless David Cook and David Archuleta!

My friends and I absolutely love this cd. We preordered on itunes and also will be buying it at the stores tomorrow. David Cook is gonna be smiling all the way to the bank with this one. He didn't copy anything. The song is based on an existing demo, but David changed the song up and co-wrote this version. He has co-writer credit along with the band who wrote the demo.

Only BarBaSol sounds like Cook stretches himself away from the "daughtry-lite" stigma. Cavallo makes it the most "advanced" sounding track that rivals his work on MCR's "The Black Parade". Let's hope that this is where David will go into the future.

There are no throw-aways or "skips to next song" on this album. The David Cook CD with bonus track sells for $13.88. Bar-Ba-Sol would make an excellent single. His whole album sounds like it will be great. I have it pre-ordered on Amazon, but will probably get it at Walmart as well to get it the day it comes out, plus you get the bonus song... a couple more as well for gifts.

Love the genuiune angst of Permanent to the rocking fun of Bar-ba-sol and everthing in between. DC was right when he said this album would not contain one throw away or skip track. I feel sorry for anyone who is just discovering DC. You have so much catching up to do to fully discover the pleasure we hard core fans have experienced since we first saw him with #36214 stuck to his chest back in January. I preordered the album at itunes, but does anyone know what stores to buy the hard copy at.

You can buy a hard copy anywhere (Best Buy, Target, etc.) but I'd recommend getting it at Wal-Mart if you can because Wal-Mart will sell a special edition for a limited time that has a bonus track on it. It's a different bonus track than the one you get from iTunes. If you buy from both iTunes and Wal-Mart you'll end up with two extra songs.

Actually Adam is David's half-brother who is about eleven years older than David. They have the same dad but different moms. Andrew is David's full brother who is five years younger than him. From what I've seen and heard David is very close to both of his brothers. Adam has had a brain tumor for ten years. But last I heard it had thankfully stopped growing, so that's good news.  A Daily AntheM is about Adam, as is Permanent supposedly.

David Cook et al really worked hard on this album judging by these snippets! It's so awesome and eclectic just like he promised! I like all the songs and I haven't anticipated an album drop by any artist for a very long time now. I'm crazy about Come Back To Me. It has a U2-esque quality to it. Light On is rising on the airplay charts and has not peaked yet. His rock fans(as opposed to the pop fans) are not concerned because the charts are far less kind to rock singles. The good news? Rock albums tend to be good sellers. So for me, the fact that this album looks to have solid cohesive (no skipping) tracks with some terrific lyrics and musicianship is all good.

the songs of david are hard to sing if you are not a singer, you will notice thatit has lot of twist its hard to follow .....but its so beautiful. the songs of doudtry are so simple i can sing it inside the bathroom.

I love DC's indie album "Analog Heart" bc I find it to be remarkably nonpareil! This debut album has a style and content undeniably David Cook's only far better and exceeding all my expectations. It's sensitive, passionate, intrepid, and human. My top picks are: Come Back To Me (absolutely love it and has a highly sentient effect on me!), A Daily Anthem, Heroes, Lie, Avalanche, Declaration, Light On, and I did It For You, in that order. I can't wait to buy the CD!

Not sure why people are trying to create controversy over the band name...the band is called "David Cook"......simple rule: you do not mess with the "brand"...Cook has "the name" that draws the fans, hence there is no need for a band name other than the one they already have -- David Cook.
