I appreciate the Marvel vs Capcom series as much as the next guy, but anyone with half a brain will realize that this new game is just another way for them to make money.
I'm not saying that it's a bad game, and that you shouldn't buy it, but it's just something to keep in mind should you consider buying the game.

I don't know why they just didn't reload all the characters from MvC2 and than add all the new characters. How can you take out Ken, Jin and Hayato with these new graphics. I'm mad they didn't add Batsu and Soki either from Tatsunoko vs Capcom lol but everytime I think of Dante and Vergil being added, that does ease my pain a little.
1. These characters are not sprites, each character takes alot of time to be animated and modeled.
2. Balancing and diveristy. MvC2 may be a fun game but its a fucking mess of a fighting game, filled to the brim with Ryu clones and seriously unbalanced.

@puertorricanstar it is $40 and considering the amount of content in its more than worth it. Nitsuma the producer wanted even more characters in (58 I believe) in the game. However the Capcom suit and ties wanted this game out before christmas to capitalize on that holiday money.
@SDSOverfiend I know you can activate it in the air. From what I've heard it's been overall nerfed but level 3 still is almost as much as a pan as ever.

Strider Hiryu kicks so much ass, and his Ragnarok hyper combo looks beast. It really is good to see him back on the roster. Thank you for that Capcom.

rip off, MVC 2 had more characters and more modes, Capcom is just trying to get us to pay top dollar for nothing, balancing tweaks can be done as a patch and the characters can be adding as dlc, along with the extra modes. Instead capcom wants us to buy this as a retail game
@solidsnake117able mvc2 had more characters because half of them were copyed and pasted off old games. plus some of those characters basically were clones (ex. ryu,ken,,akuma). mvc3 adds more diversity too the mix .if this was dlc it would cost more. 12 characters = 60 dollers. 40 dollers is a good deal for wat there giving us. this is just my opinion, dont think im comming off as a bad guy. if you dont want to buy i respect your opinion

Fanboys bitching about Megaman or Ken or Venom don't care about how useful they'll be or in Ken's case, a ryu clone. You guys are just trying to find things to bitch about!
Vanilla support is being upgraded into umvc3, so why downgrade?
Its not just a few new characters and stages being hauled in. The entire look of the game will be updated. With SSF4AE, it was simple because you didn't get anything too huge, but the look of the game itself is changing, and that can't be changed through simple DLC.

Megaman X according to Nitsuma himself is the Megaman that fits best with this Ultimate MVC3 game. Versions of Megaman have been in MVC1, TVC, Onimusha so why not here?
Are the DLC support of Characters, costumes, or modes of MVC3 being integrated into UMVC3? No they arent.

- I read somewhere that they(Capcom) said Strider wouldn't work when they original anncouned MvC3. Now look at this video again and tell me what is it that "didnt work" the first time round and works now?
They released another stage that looks like the Tricell Laboratory alarms are on and theres even more wreckage, and word is that only 4 of 8 new stages will be rehashed which is bad.
The game isnt out yet but theres an overwhelming amount of information released and people pissed that they could use an earthquake to rush this game and announce it FIVE months after the last game came out.
People would rather have a good game pushed back than an unfinished one out early.

But I will tread a little softer now that strider is in there. All the other characters I dont much care about. but at the same time I agree with you. Some people should buy the game before complaining. Or at least give their input to capcom as its one of the only companies that listens to fans.
@DeathScytheAkuma I was talking more about Megaman but I can't say that RYU is the unoriginal one. In fact, its Ken that was the ryu ripoff, not the other way around. Ken is just a palette swap Ryu with fire attacks and more speed, at the cost of having a Hadoken that doesn't go all the way across the screen. Plus, Ryu was the main SF character. Him, Chun-li and arguably Guile were the main good guys because they were all different.
@Djstudiosgold yeah ryu is one of the main characters but with no ken there would be a much more cruddy ryu. Storyline wise he learns as much from ken as he did gouken.Ken's hadoukens still do the same amount of damage anyway though. Plus with him moving as fast as he does, it doesnt really need go all the way. Plus more of kens moves actually are original in that he made them his self insted of going solely on teachings. Even the flaming shoryuken. and even so, theres no guile.

I understand there are a lot of complaints and MvC is attempting to please fans by adding more people over time... But compared to the last roster (What with it's extensive character spread) it pales in comparison simply due to a lack of characters I'm assuming are well recognized. Half the people in MvC3's starting roster I had no clue of... Maybe they're working on building up the roster, IDK~
The x factor symbol is soooo annoying it's all red, flashy and really huge, hopefully there's an option to fix that because I for one get distracted easily. But still this game looks amazing!

@Carlemone Not at all am I telling you that. I just think personally that everyone is blowing this way to far out of proportion. The point is with fighting games its difficult with DLC because unlike call of duty there are social gatherings and fight clubs where people play the game and not everyone downloads this stuff trust me I had to wait until the disc release of AE to play with my fight club. A disc release is a favorable idea because then everyone can play.

I have always said fighting game producers could stand to take a lesson from Netherrealms, But also MK has something to prove here the 3 previous generation titles were awful and thus causing the company to go out of business it wasn't until they became netherrealms and had WB's budget to help them out and went back to a 2D plain and observed successful formulas that they found success.
I still don't give a shit about Megaman, I havn't since 2008 and I still won't.
MK9 was one of the best FIghting Games I played in my life time and I loved how MK9 felt like I was playing the orginal three back in the 90's. Having Story Mode and Challenge Tower kept me coming. Plus... KHAN!!!!!!! I never seen such a pain in the ass in story mode.
@Carlemone I am also not saying Capcom is right in doing this because a DLC option should be available at the same price or less but the point of my arguement is that yeah this is bad of capcom but its not as bad as everyone is blowing it up to be. Even though the trade value has dropped significantly on MVC3 you can still trade it in and get some portion of your money back and trust me I bought the goddamn special edition imagine how mad I was. Character DLC for fighting games seem to go about 5 dolllars I am basing this off of Mortal Kombat,BlazBlue and Soul Calibur 4 if in fact you were to pay just for characters if you wanted the complete roster so that no matter what all your friends could play on the same screen it would cost 60 dollars. You don't know how these characters are going to play so you can't say whether you would use them or not

Or maybe i'l even keep playing as my old main and wont touch the other charecters because i just want an updated game. In MK9 you can just keep playing with your main and dont have to buy a new game and enjoy all the updates or look up online how the dlc charecters are player all their moves and buy one that you like.
I have no answer for that its honestly just how Capcom's business model works. Yes MK is doing a stellar job of updating there game and the characters they have chosen are some of the best the series has to offer. But I guess it falls on a matter of preference I like to have a full roster cause maybe down the line I might pick up a character I have never played before or maybe when I have friends over they play a certain character I like those options to be all there for me and my friends..
@Carlemone Should it have been in the first game and just avoided the whole "Ultimate" Thing all together yes! They could have waited to release Marvel vs Capcom 3 and had all of these features in but did they? No they didn't. Was it wrong? Yes! However here we are and there is nothing you, me or anyone else can do about it so its up to you buy the game and enjoy the new features and cut your loses or don't and move on to something else its that simple. No one is holding a gun to your head.

rip off, MVC 2 had more characters and more modes, Capcom is just trying to get us to pay top dollar for nothing, balancing tweaks can be done as a patch and the characters can be adding as dlc, along with the extra modes. Instead capcom wants us to buy this as a retail game

@solidsnake117able mvc2 had more characters because half of them were copyed and pasted off old games. plus some of those characters basically were clones (ex. ryu,ken,,akuma). mvc3 adds more diversity too the mix .if this was dlc it would cost more. 12 characters = 60 dollers. 40 dollers is a good deal for wat there giving us. this is just my opinion, dont think im comming off as a bad guy. if you dont want to buy i respect your opinion

Fanboys bitching about Megaman or Ken or Venom don't care about how useful they'll be or in Ken's case, a ryu clone. They just want to see their useless, clone or cheap character in the game just for the sake of being in the fucking game! They don't take into account if they were underpowered or overpowered, they just whine when one character doesn't make it in!

Vanilla support is being upgraded into umvc3, so why downgrade?
Its not just a few new characters and stages being hauled in. The entire look of the game will be updated. With SSF4AE, it was simple because you didn't get anything too huge, but the look of the game itself is changing, and that can't be changed through simple DLC.

Megaman X according to Nitsuma himself is the Megaman that fits best with this Ultimate MVC3 game. Versions of Megaman have been in MVC1, TVC, Onimusha so why not here?
Are the DLC support of Characters, costumes, or modes of MVC3 being integrated into UMVC3? No they arent.

The game isn't out yet, so you don't know anything about its online.
The original version had few rewards, this one will have more.
The only stage i've seen rehashed is the kattleox island stage

They released another stage that looks like the Tricell Laboratory alarms are on and theres even more wreckage, and word is that only 4 of 8 new stages will be rehashed which is bad.
The game isnt out yet but theres an overwhelming amount of information released and people pissed that they could use an earthquake to rush this game and announce it FIVE months after the last game came out.
People would rather have a good game pushed back than an unfinished one out early.

But I will tread a little softer now that strider is in there. All the other characters I dont much care about. but at the same time I agree with you. Some people should buy the game before complaining. Or at least give their input to capcom as its one of the only companies that listens to fans.

@DeathScytheAkuma I was talking more about Megaman but I can't say that RYU is the unoriginal one. In fact, its Ken that was the ryu ripoff, not the other way around. Ken is just a palette swap Ryu with fire attacks and more speed, at the cost of having a Hadoken that doesn't go all the way across the screen. Plus, Ryu was the main SF character. Him, Chun-li and arguably Guile were the main good guys because they were all different.

@Djstudiosgold yeah ryu is one of the main characters but with no ken there would be a much more cruddy ryu. Storyline wise he learns as much from ken as he did gouken.Ken's hadoukens still do the same amount of damage anyway though. Plus with him moving as fast as he does, it doesnt really need go all the way. Plus more of kens moves actually are original in that he made them his self insted of going solely on teachings. Even the flaming shoryuken. and even so, theres no guile.

I understand there are a lot of complaints and MvC is attempting to please fans by adding more people over time... But compared to the last roster (What with it's extensive character spread) it pales in comparison simply due to a lack of characters I'm assuming are well recognized. Half the people in MvC3's starting roster I had no clue of... Maybe they're working on building up the roster, IDK~

Seriously you think Capcom's greedy get back to me when you have dealt with Activision kid then you can complain. 5 15 dollar map packs from Activison and your whining about a 39.99 for a brand new game with 12 brand new characters 8 news stages and rebalancing plus Phoenix and xfactor nerf. The point is with fighting games its difficult with DLC because unlike call of duty there are social gatherings and fight clubs where people play the game and not everyone downloads this stuff trust me I had to wait until the disc release of AE to play with my fight club. A disc release is a favorable idea because then everyone can play.

I have always said fighting game producers could stand to take a lesson from Netherrealms, But also MK has something to prove here the 3 previous generation titles were awful and thus causing the company to go out of business it wasn't until they became netherrealms and had WB's budget to help them out and went back to a 2D plain and observed successful formulas that they found success.

I still don't give a shit about Megaman, I havn't since 2008 and I still won't.
MK9 was one of the best FIghting Games I played in my life time and I loved how MK9 felt like I was playing the orginal three back in the 90's. Having Story Mode and Challenge Tower kept me coming. Plus... KHAN!!!!!!! I never seen such a pain in the ass in story mode.

@Carlemone I am also not saying Capcom is right in doing this because a DLC option should be available at the same price or less but the point of my arguement is that yeah this is bad of capcom but its not as bad as everyone is blowing it up to be. Even though the trade value has dropped significantly on MVC3 you can still trade it in and get some portion of your money back and trust me I bought the goddamn special edition imagine how mad I was. @Carlemone Last but not least I will bring up the arguement of costs on this kind of thing. Character DLC for fighting games seem to go about 5 dolllars I am basing this off of Mortal Kombat,BlazBlue and Soul Calibur 4 if in fact you were to pay just for characters if you wanted the complete roster so that no matter what all your friends could play on the same screen it would cost 60 dollars. You don't know how these characters are going to play so you can't say whether you would use them or not

Or maybe i'l even keep playing as my old main and wont touch the other charecters because i just want an updated game. In MK9 you can just keep playing with your main and dont have to buy a new game and enjoy all the updates or look up online how the dlc charecters are player all their moves and buy one that you like.

I have no answer for that its honestly just how Capcom's business model works. Yes MK is doing a stellar job of updating there game and the characters they have chosen are some of the best the series has to offer. But I guess it falls on a matter of preference I like to have a full roster cause maybe down the line I might pick up a character I have never played before or maybe when I have friends over they play a certain character I like those options to be all there for me and my friends..

They could have waited to release Marvel vs Capcom 3 and had all of these features in but did they? No they didn't. Was it wrong? Yes! However here we are and there is nothing you, me or anyone else can do about it so its up to you buy the game and enjoy the new features and cut your loses or don't and move on to something else its that simple. No one is holding a gun to your head.
