  • That's great that you have "OVER COME", but there are people here in the U.S.A. who still deal with these issues. And the term "The whiteman is holding me down" is out dated. Black America is dealing with other issues!! SCOOT YA SEAT UP Brotha!!!

  • & i bet u think that last name belongs to you to huh??? think again....stupidity

  • And to all u too proud to accept your own history azz black folk "slavery had nothing to do with me"....i pray for ya first & foremost. For one to speak such ignorance is jus pure uneducated, self hatred, slave mentality, decieved, love thy enemy, turn the other cheek non-sense that has gotten us knowhere as a people. we need unity the most.....peace

  • the jews dont talk about the Holocaust: what planet do u live on??......My brother i agree 90% with u, however we can NEVER forget our history ok. nobody held me down & im doing just fine, im on the road to my own biz as well. we should never forget where we came from or else we wont know whats ahead of us.

  • i hate hearing people bitch about slavery... hell you dont hear the jewish complain about the holocaust...

  • great video

  • noone alive has nothing to do with slavery...get the fuck over it..

  • HAHAHAHA Uncle Rukus HAHAHAHA

  • Its because its apart of their history genius. The same way people talk about their history. He doesnt understand that he is using the same logic that people who hate his race use.

  • when a white guy says this he is called a racist, when a black guy says it he is called an oreo. I would like to point out that no one tries to prove these statements wrong they just name call.

  • thank you for having a brain

  • SHUT THE HELL UP, WHY THE FUCK DO YOU THINK BLACK PEOPLE STILL TALK ABOUT SALVERY!!! BECAUSE IT STILL AFFECTS US TO THIS DAY, WAKE UP, AND STOP SELLIN PEOPLE THIS BULLSHIT. IF YOUR ANCESTORS COULD HERE THIS SHIT, THEY WOULD HANG YO ASS THEYSELVES!!!!!

  • Shut yo Oreo ass up! I do know my history and second bitch I been response to this vid yo black ass don't own shit u jus got a small business and think u on jus like a house nigga let me guess yo religion is Christianity fuckin slave!

  • @Xmookie3x WELL SAID!

  • I agree to a certain point. However, as long as there is still the KKK and racist white people it's hard for black people to forget about slavery. Just being real. Black people are reminded of it everyday because of "Nigger" rants from racist white people of today.

  • FUCK RBG Black power cartel THEY ALWAYS talk about the white man they want blacks in slavery RBG is putting blacks in mental slavery now this is the best time for rbg to gain a group of people these guys are trying to find anything to blame they never helped use at all they only keep use down

  • Get a tripod dude for better video stability

  • this should be a PSA

  • i see more of that stuff with big city ppl,i grew up in a smaller town and my black friends i grew up with were ,lets put it this way, there was no real difference,we were one community,it was mixed so everyone did things a little different, but also we did alot of things the same .everyones' kitchens were set up the same way,the livingrooms had the tv and couch they all cooked a little differentily, but i was used to my moms cookin,it was still good though..and i called my friends parents mr.&mrs.

  • While what you're saying is true, and I hear what you're saying with some people, not everybody is naturally going to be as mentally resilient. Also everyone has different life experiences, and hence teachings. Also it is not practical for everyone to be self employed/entrepreneur, especially in some careers of work, it depends on what you want to do in life. I live in the UK, and I can understand what ppl moan about with systems holding them down, cause they screw over the young generation here

  • slavery was a long ass time ago. NUFF SAID

  • Wow. finally someone that shares my thoughts. And don't be offended, but I'm glad to see it coming from a black person. Intelligent guy. Good on ya.

  • Please dude I'm a fireman and a emt medic if yo ass that stupid to not know that Yo ancestors were brung over here by white people who laid down all the rules which yo dumb ass go by today then u jus another lost brother or u could be a Oreo cuz the system is design to keep our race down explain prison and the minimum of black history in yo social books and the lies in the history of europeans

  • @Xmookie3x I have traveled to many places outside of this country and I know first hand the opportunity here vs. other countries. I don't live in the past, I learn from it and keep stepping. So I am sorry you fell the need to discuss but what can you or I change, nothing. I am sick of this system quit your job and create you own system because that is true slavery, working for someone.

  • @Xmookie3x I like his message, personal responsibility! Don't wait for someone to give it to you, go out and get it! Don't make excuses into perpetuity, at some point, accept it, own it, dismiss it, resent it, whatever, but don't use it as a reason not to be a success. These days, you can make your own destiny...now go out and make it.

  • @Xmookie3x excuse me man..how can you be a fireman and medic and be so misinformed?dont play the fkin race card card man that is hilarious nowadays..first of all..the white people didnt go to africa to steal them.the truth is..the europeans. slavery was hugeeee in africa were travelling discovering countries..they came across africa..the africans TAUGHT slavery to the white people and sold there OWN !not that i agree with america doing it but get history right

  • Respond to this video...ohhhh fkn boohoo my life is bad because of the white man pmsl get a life !well said video..its time people took action for there actions..raise yourself no matter who you are..no one but no one can stop that but you !

  • @Xmookie3x

I agree with you on somethings. It is harder to succeed as a black person. It is even harder to succeed if you are poor born. I also know that we black people need to start making better choices. I know black people who live in run down neighborhoods that go shopping at name brand stores at income tax time. One lady buys a new living room set every year with her refund check. If black people want opportunites we have to change a lot of things we do. Rap music is garbage and is

  • @Xmookie3x It makes me sick that you talk so ignorant yet claim to be a firefighter/emt. I can't believe they hired your dumbass.

  • U not lookin at the big picture I hate half research ass niggas and u sir are 1 of them look at our race as a whole not jus your damn Alec

  • @Xmookie3x let me guess you are one of the lazy blacks that say this is a white man's world. I hate people like you always making excuses, for your laziness and lack of success. If you want something, get off your lazy ass and get it. Stop making excuses.

  • ...I do have best regards for you, sir...you have many great topics in your video and alot more people should be exposed to them. Thanks for taking the time to do what you do. The best to you and yours. Highest regards, -GaryPS.

  • Around 3:30 or so you speak of your choice in hiring based on who you feel will contribute most effectively for your business (you don't word it as such but it's obvious what you mean...), however, doesn't America have a little law on the books that requires businesses with a certain minimum work force to hire minorities (and I hate that word) regardless of their true ability to effectively do the required job therefore putting a more qualified potential employee out of a qualified position???

  • @garypsutton

Yep. Both of my parents have not gotten jobs because of that, and the person that got the job admitted it.

  • You're a breath of fresh air!! The claim of "racism" in this country is gerting out of control, and im hispanic and its coming from our end as well. I think that now a days racism against whites is wht seems

To be happening more than anything else.

  • You're right. "You are holding yourself back." As humans it's in our nature to blame someone else, and it's a disease. I think that you have experienced success because of your philosophy on this issue, not the other way around. When you take total responsibility for yourself, regardless of surrounding circumstances, your eyes and will open up to some amazing things, opportunity will be your friend and your income will increase. Whether racism exists or not is really beside the point.

  • @realblessed4

I have to disagree. Enough with the overly cliched shit of, "Blame someone else, anything is possible," If anything was possible, homelessness and poverty wouldn't exist. The game of life is set up so that people fail, while another profits off that failure. There are lots and lots of factors that go into why this is so. I think the biggest disease we face is: What's best for ourselves, not society as a whole. Do you think countries like Aferica will ever see success? No they....

  • @realblessed4

won't because the USA and Europe in particular exploit those people for their resources. A person wanting to start a business might not ever be able to do so because they have no family to help them and worked minimum wage jobs all of their life so they couldn't really save up. Also, banks would have to approve, and in a depression/recession, that doesn't happen. They could be ridden by school loans and/or doctor bills. I think most of you people need to open up their eyes more.

  • @realblessed4

Income will increase? Not unless you're a millionaire; you forgot about the devil that is: inflation and taxes. Actually, income has been decreasing or set on a flat wage-- unless you work for yourself and have at least two businesses.

  • I agree that we should move on and stop using slavery as an excuse, but at the same time you have to realize that slavery was designed to not just physically imprison us, but mentally as well. Read the Willie Lynch letter if you haven't already and you will see that the tactics he used were made to affect us for multiple generations. So its no wonder why we see black people acting in such a manner, its what we have been conditioned to do.

  • @beamn318 I have read and again I say nothing can control you unless you let it.

  • ...and slavery's effects will never be erased. if you dont realize that then please do read a book.

  • youre absolutely correct and your a damn fool! lazy people will always sit on their ass and blame others.

But if you think that white people dont have a stranglehold on all the good shit in america, youre lost. can you get your hustle on? sure.

but even you who owns a business is gettin raped by the white man. lol

so keep spittin truth but dont get it twisted. you will be shocked the day they snatch your ass outta that cozy house. LOL

  • @blackba5tard because people like you live in the past. You haven't created a wonderful present for yourself. Good luck with living in the past.

  • @mohammedabshaun youre a fool. keep your luck, you will need. goodbye

  • True statement, but can relate in 'certain' situations were blacks are held back, but it is everyones responsibility to make something of themeless, but a lot of people don't knw how to if there stuck in the 'state' mentality they will never see any clearer. But saying that I have heard from people in school being told by white teachers not to go for the good jobs as your not good for it/you'll be living off benefits with kids which can ruin your self esteem, then you may lose yourself.

  • I love your video. It seems more people are looking for an excuse for failure. It's becoming the American Way. U focused on blacks, but I hear it from every race. Pick your excuse, blame someone else. Check out "Moving Windmills: The William Kamkwamba Story on You Tube. He had a good excuse but he overcame. There R lots of famous, successful people giving advice on You Tube 4 FREE Take mohamme's advise take responsibility, get off the couch. make the change! U R the only 1 holding U back!

  • Well, the bible isn't particularly antislavery.

There is still institutionalized racism, I think. Also, you may using colourblind hiring practices, but statistically, US employers don't.

That being said, I don't think racism is always the number 1 reason why one person is kept down.

I think it's still delusional to think that "if I try hard enough, I will succeed in USA" applies to the vast majority of the population.

  • @jacobromu well my friend I think no one no matter what color you are should depend on a job, the recession taught us that. I have foe 10 years made my own money by owning my own business. I sign my own checks, so I will say anyone in America can make it.

  • I like this dude. smart, A thinker and that what it takes.

    quote.

once you become knowledgeable, you have a obligation to do something about it.

    Ron Paul.....

  • VVV FAGGOT.

  • wise man

  • uncle ruckus in the flesh people!

  • right on,man! this leaves us white people scratching our heads..slavery happened 200 yrs ago.. and im from the north so i didnt have anything to do with it. i dont care what race someone is or their religon. maybe .. cause one didnt finish high school?..hmmm..or didnt go to college/trade school..hmm. or decided to join a gang and catch a felony..hmm lots of reasons not to succeed in the land of opportunity... it so important to realize its your responsibility what happens, isnt it? ;)

  • Yes, you are partially right. Blacks need to set up businesses as they are less likely to be employed than a white person with equal skills/experience/education. So yes, white people don't like to employ black people, but blacks may not 'know' how to set up business. They are consumers and not producers. Blacks don't even like to buy from blacks.

  • @love83forever well I don't think anyone is born knowing how to set up business. It's a skill that is learned by either trial and error, or obtaining degrees, and that goes for all races. Americans period are consumers not just one race, this is why a lot of people have high credit card debt.

  • @mohammedabshaun. I beg to differ, if you see the asian; Chinese and Indian community, you will see a lagacy of business. Thus, children are raised in an environment involving some kind of trade. They teach their children business. White people teach their children how to get good grades & a 'good job. Black people teach their kids to consume in order to compensate for social status in order to appear to 'measure' up to whites to get jobs. Hence, Asian business focus, blacks on materialism.

  • @love83forever You see here you are generalizing. I agree there are some Indian families, and Asian that teach their kids business, but there are a lot of Indians in the IT field with jobs, and Asian kids that go to school and get a good education, just like blacks and whites. My wife is white and I can say not all whites preach get a good education, they are some into mechanics, farmers, and etc. I think you are focusing on the group that does those thing s and saying its everyone.

  • @mohammedabshaun. Yes I am generalising. Your video is a general video about blacks complaining about slavery; but not 'all' black complain about slavery- get my point. So my generalisation is valid, as we are speaking about the mass and not the few who branch off. A lot of black teens watch BET or MTV, not all- generalisation.

  • @love83forever lol I will give you that one. We will be good together lol. I can tell we are going to have some interesting convo's, is that you in that video on your channel?

  • @mohammedabshaun...Hahahhah lol. I am glad that you willing to hear different opinions. I just tell the truth!!! Hey, I am glad that you checked out my page. No that is not me in the video (must be a video I was watching-what video did you see?). I plan to do some videos, I am not sure where to start. I dont want to film myself, maybe just writing to start with.

  • @love83forever I hear that lot, why don't you want to film yourself?

  • @mohammedabshaun..I have some heavy topics to deal with & I don't want the spot light on me-I just want to get the info out for those who seek to find. As you can see, I am not going to be to every ones linking as I may not always agree with conventional thoght. In fact I never totally agree with any findings, as their are always pros and cons of everything and I explore all. The problem I have with many is they don't enough question & accept too easily what others say without examination.

  • I like this vid. Well said. It applies to white folks too. You create your own destiny. I was guilty of sloth until I woke up in 2008. no ambitions or anything. It's amazing how much you can turn your own life around.

    Well said Sir!

  • that was interesting. Strange that not more people see this.

  • HAHA exactly. I don't care who I work with as long as they make me money. I got clients around the world who I have never met. I don't know what color they are, maybe they are from outer space? All I know is the checks don't bounce.

  • Inspirational, great advice regardless who you are. I'm a subscriber now!

  • EXACTLY!!!!

  • I like this video!

I am white and retired after 34 years working for the Federal Government. During this time I worked with and worked for a number of individuals of African-American heritage. These Assistant Secretaries, Deputy Assistant Secretaries and senior managers were intelligent, hard-working and fully competent for their positions.

If you are willing to educate yourself, are intelligent and work hard, you will succeed no matter what your race and ethnic origins!

  • I’m From Australia...Correct me if I’m Wrong. But Don’t you guys have a black president? I thought people moved passed this issue. mohammedabshaun You hit the nail on the head...People move to the obvious excuse no matter what demographic they are in. it’s much easier to blame other people than to look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are exactly where you are because YOU put yourself there

  • Comment removed

  • Very very good video,

"I create it all"...Choosing to take responsibility for self or the ability to respond to situations vs choosing to be a victim.

Yes there are obstacles but placing blame and being a victim do not help to overcome those obstacles. Choosing to find solutions to problems can overcome obstacles.

  • @cloaknpoke also there will always be social inequality in one form or another. Any sociologist can help people realize why there is inequality in society. Once we get over perceived racial and ethnic inequality it will just be a colorblind form of inequality between the haves and have nots which is what the history of inequality has basically been to begin w/. Have vs have nots.

  • This is an awesome channel you've created here. I've only watched several of your videos so far, but I'm finding them incredibly insightful and realistic in their conclusions. Keep them coming!

  • i guess all peoples are saying someone is holding us back, i work a job, tried 4 online businesses, failed, but im going to try again and not give up, thanks 4 the insperation to creat your own income, it's up to the person like myself to keep on trucking and get ahead, hope you feel better mohammed, maybe after making the vid on kentucky fried chicken u should go have a nice chicken dinner maybe get your mind off that cold, yummy

  • I think people in general, every nationality, will complain about something. There are the few people, like you and me, that just go out and decide to do it for themselves. My family history has things to be bitter about as well, I think anyone does. The good question to ask is: what does that have to do with the grand scheme of life? I'm here, now, and I'm not going to waste my life and sacrifice hundreds of years of my family's future griping about the past.

  • I have friends from other countries who have brought up this same subject. All countries have had slavery but it's only America where it's still an issue. My grandparents came to America and could barely speak english but started several businesses and became pretty wealthy, because they didn't wait on others to do something for them.

  • You speak the truth! Dwelling on this slavery issue & thinking that "Everybody hates Blacks" is straight up a self-defeating mentality. It holds a lot of us Black folks back. I'm similar to you - I GO MAKE IT HAPPEN FOR MYSELF. I got off my ass, then got a good job. Now I work while going to school. It's sad a lot of us Black folks just sit around & cry without having the courage to make a positive effort toward a better life for ourselves

  • Great video Bro! I liked your comments below also! *****

  • It has become a bit of a crutch, a convenient excuse for ones own short comings.

  • You have a new subscriber! You are one of the most refreshing viewpoints I have found on the Tube recently. I love your perspective on taxes! The government is holding lots of folks down.

  • What I always liked about your videos is that they were unique. This stuff is commonplace, and I can find in many other places. I'm glad you make money. I make it too, but not all the wealth I go for is monetary. I get much satisfaction from creating usefulness and value in items that are derelict. How about a video showing something interesting you actually do to obtain your wealth? A subject like slavery will produce talk that is subjective, and not conclusive.

  • @BabyHominid You know one thing I like about you is because you always challenge me to stay away from the negative topics and stick with the topics, that will enrich people.

  • @mohammedabshaun Thanks! You are a "go-getter" and I already know good and well what a go-getter thinks of moaning and groaning or a poor-me pity party. I feel the same way you do about the subject. When a go-getter gets to trying to figure out why self-inflicting people think as they do, he's heading in the wrong direction. Peace. :-)

  • what about the black man who is Muslim and has a beard or the guy who has dreadlocks and can't find a job because they tell them they don't meet the ''appearance guideline'' which is saying were not going to hire you because people assume blacks with facial hair or dreadlocks are criminals and aggressive. I understand not meeting guidelines if it is messy and not neat, this leads to blacks denying who they are to conform to white society.indirectly they are kinda holding a small percent back.

  • @tonuu456 Create your own wealth and you don't have to depend on anyone.

  • @tonuu456 What about the white guy with long hair, or earnings and/or other piercings? If you want to get a job at a conservative firm, you have to look the part regardless of your skin color. Do you think white people don't have to deal with that shit?

  • slavery is apart of history and people should know their history just don't need to dwell on it,but don't think that racism does not exist I know a girl who is a good model she applied to model at gucci one of the people told her '' We don't market to blacks because alot of black people don't buy our products'' why do u think alot of blacks are attracted to drug dealing and sports they know they don't have to worry about being discriminated. How many Ceo you kno named raquon, tyrone and derrick?

  • @tonuu456 well I"m black and I'm not attracted to drug dealing and sports don't put us all in the same negative category please, thank you

  • Look at history most white people were indentured slaves when they first arrived here.

  • because its history but it isn't where black/african history began and that's one of the problems talking about it as if that's where our history began

why do we talk about white history? It doesn't go away...

Of course there are more opportunities today but don't be naive and believe there isn't any discrimination going on. I've experienced it all race, gender, weight discrimination

You do make your own destiny I agree and if we knew better we'd do better

  • People that owned slaves, the Chiefs in Africa that sold them to the slave traders and the slave traders themselves are long gone. The slaves too are long gone. I refuse to apologize for what others have done and especially for what others have done in the past. No reparations on my dime. Anyway how would reparations be possible considering that the people involved with slavery are all long long gone!

  • Slavery built this country and we shouldn't forget it, you don't here me crying for reparations. I'm not racist, that doesn't mean that I don''t see racism daily. I recently watched the O'Riely show he told a guest(college professor) he looked like a coke dealer. That arrogant piece of crap thinks he can do and say whatever on tv, what do you think goes on behind some closed doors? I think you work so hard u can't see it. It's not fair blacks & browns join the Army to make a living is it?

  • @Counter8 I make my own living, you dont have to join the army to make a living, that's probably what you are telling yourself.

  • @mohammedabshaun So to work for myself I should what take out a loan? Or maybe get a job for minimum wage in hopes to save enough. How did you start off weren't you in the service. I'm not saying that any one group owes another but the reality is that blacks ancestors worked hard for nothing. Then folks will say black contribute nothing to society, painting a picture of them as criminals. When in reality their hardworking. I tell myself that I can do anythinig, but life isn't that easy.

  • @mohammedabshaun keep in mind some don't want to go out on their own to make a living. Some like working for and with an already established company they find security in that for themselves and their family so to some striking out on your own is not in th the picture regardless of the complaints and hardships

  • Most of the people of waiting for their ship to come in. Guess what, it will never come in. It took me 42 years to learn and achieve. I am 63 and black, but I honestly feel that my best is yet to come. I can't depend upon my 4 residual checks (six figure) from other sources to take care of me. I want my own residual income. Some people think I am crazy to continue. The income that I get each me allow me to be completely debt free, but if it stop, I am up the creek without a paddle.

  • Good video! Its not the white people that hold the black people down anymore its the governmnt and the corporations. In the eighteen hundereds yes there was a such thing as slavery. And I am sorry for that, but the past is past. Its not bad to look back at the past, but to dwell on it is another thing.

"I think you know there is no such thing as America anymore, no hispanics, no Japanesse, no black, no whites, no nothing.... Just rich people and poor people.

  • racisim is a fallacy.

slavery is an irrelevancy in that pretty much all nations, all colors and all creeds took slaves back in the day. Slavery is wrong and should not be, and in most of the world is no longer tolerated.

Anyone can rise to any position in this country, we all have to deal with bullshit from people on an individual level - thats life, and if you try to remove that you are engaging in mind/behaviorial control.

    -TEW

  • I understand that 50%+ of urban blacks don't graduate from highschool. That's really starting out behind the eight ball. A few years later, after a poor job, or no job at all, it can be easy to start blaming others for your own shortcomings. If the leaders in the African-American community were all preaching the same message as you, there would be a lot more black success stories.

  • b/c black people in general cannot get past a ceiling at a job they might be at. Its hard for any minority to come up at a job or in a career.

  • @wc02 create you own income.

  • I am white and I think every black person should get back pay for their forfathers who built this country for free. Hell, the indians got billions and are making billions tax free in their casinos. Is that fair?

  • @32937isready So let me get this straight. You're saying that people who were never slaves, should be compensated by people who never had anything to do with slavery? That is absurd.

  • @32937what about the irish slaves that far more numerous that african? i want some damn money from england! i want some damn money from scottland! i want some damn money from barbados, antigua, bahamas, jamainca! and damnit i want some damn money from america!

  • @32937isready The slave owners are not alive anymore. The slaves are no longer alive. I never owned slaves. I know no slaves. If you think for a moment that I should pay as a non slave owner to non slaves you are in la la land, hell can freeze over first.

  • @jimbobubbadj who asked you to pay?

  • @skeetmoses Who asked me to pay, the reparations people.

  • @jimbobubbadj why do you even bother to give that your attention, I"m black and I don't.

I don't expect reparations, its moot, its just a debate as far as I'm concerned cause its not going to happen

People better reparate getting off their ass and making it happen success is the greatest revenge
