  • sounds amazing. love it.

  • sounds great, fuck the haters, nice job man. nothin wrong with a 350 chevy, that is a great engine!

  • has the olds the cats or has you remove the cats???

    cool sound

  • @usundacars No cats, straight pipe to muffler.

  • that sounds fantastic! that thing's in excellent shape!

  • That is nice!!!!!! I wish my 1977 Cutlass was that nice!

  • hey playa thanx i got some good idieas on what i need for the cut dog

  • thats how my 79 malibu sounded last year

  • sounds great, nice cam

  • What are the specs on that cam?

  • excellent car, no matter what, love it, it defines AWESOME IN AWESOMENESS!! LEGENDARY IN ITS OWN RIGHT.

  • nice car mang

  • What headers are you running?

  • that sounds fuckin mean bro

  • Powered by 350 Chevy, Yeah! I give you props for the motor change. I'd rather have a 350 chevy than an 350 Olds anyday. I'm guessing that you also have more room under the hood now??

  • I have a 75 olds cutlass , with the 350 Olds Rocket in it, and a quadrajet 4 bbl, Dauls an flowmasters, and factory A/C, would not change it for anything, it only has 50,000 miles on it It is always . garage kept . I wouldn't put 350 Chev in it, no way, unless it was a 68 camero

  • To each his own. Nothing wrong with Olds motors but you can get more power our of Chevy motors more easily and less expensive. That's the key reason so many people go to SBC - tons of aftermarket, cheap and easy to build, and doesn't take much to draw out some ponies.

Were my car some noteworthy piece of automotive history I'd try to keep it all Olds... but since it's not, it gets a motor I can afford to tinker around with.

  • You can spend the same money on machine work on a 350 Olds and get a very good return. Just because you can't throw a bunch of aftermarket parts at it and get HP gains doesnt mean it cant be done.

  • Well I didn't say it couldn't be done, but if you're on a tight budget like I am, throwing in a 350 out of a pick up truck with a 4 bolt main, slapping on some Vortech heads, stabbing in an RV cam, putting on a good sounding exhaust and such.. that's all relatively cheap and very easy to do. Plus, it's a lot easier finding parts to fit my SBC than an SBO. I'm not knocking Olds, not at all, but for me, this is the right motor for the time being. To each his own, right?

  • *finding parts in a junk yard, I meant. Like accessory brackets and that sort of stuff, in case i decide to rearrange my engine bay.

  • @derbydriver It all fits, especially the Chevy small block and the parts are way cheaper then Oldsmobile parts.

  • @squishmeflat i got a 73 with 350 rocket with a 4bbl holley carb edlebrock intake hastings crankshaft and cam k&n air filter flowmasters exhaust right now it has 390 hp soon im getting pop up pistons for it and headers its got 73,000 miles on it

  • 350 chevy is good in its own respect, but the 350 olds motor is much more of a head turner, and can be made into a great high rpm engine with its 3.25 stroke, but to each his own, I GUESS.I say olds power is better.

  • i say your wrong, you can buy high pressure valve springs as well for chevys for higher rpms

  • Yes sir,I realize that,I am just saying the olds shorter stroke makes for a better high rpm engine, kinda like the 283's short stroke, that is all,and why be like everybody else with a chevy engine,I am not saying I dislike chevy, just olds is cooler in my book.

  • hard to say jcs, oldsmobiles were heavy cars, but with 3:73's it should jump nice off the line..what size tires ya got on the rear..i would expect to run maybe low 13's with her..let me know how ya make out

  • where can i get that exact cam please...i need specs

  • mine is lowder with plain old glass packs and still stock

  • Not going for loud. Plus, how can you tell how loud my car is when you're controlling it with a volume knob? You kinda have to hear it in person to know how loud it really is.

Loudness doesn't always mean its better... the sound itself is what matters.

  • the trans says 95cx on the side in big letters

  • i have an 85olds cutlass with an 305 and i have an chevy 350 for it but im using the stock tranz do you think the tranz will bolt up to it?

  • The best thing to do would be to determine what transmission you have. If it's a TH350 or a 700r4, then yes, they will bolt up to a Chevy 350.

  • Chevy 305 and 350 were the same block, so it should be a drop in.

  • 305 block is a smaller bore, and its own block, and cannot even be safley bored to the 350;s 4-inch bore, sorry. The external deminsions are the same though.Maybe that is what you meant.

  • I know the bore is smaller, I was talking about the external dimensions of the block. And by the way, I also like the Olds 350 better. The bottom end is stronger and didn't need the 4 bolt main for strength. Chevy guys think the 4 bolt was for more power or torque instead of fixing a design flaw.

  • You are right on the money. This is why I prefer olds engines.Chevy burns to much oil for my taste to,at least the old design did,I do not know if the ls series do this or not.

  • sounds cool, how much difference did it make with the performance and the gas?

im thinking about getting exhaust but some people dont agree on that.

  • It really all depends on what your set up is. Is it an older car? Carbureted motor? Throttle body injection?

I can't say if an exhaust set up like mine is right for your car, but a set of headers a good pipe/muffler combo can make the engine run much more efficiently, although it would pollute more. That's only a concern if you buy into the Global Warming hysteria.

  • i have a stock 1985 oldsmobile cutlass supreme and i just want to have more HP

  • So you probably have a 305 or a 350 engine?

Headers, Flowmasters and 2.5" pipe will make a good sound... but swapping in an RV cam is ideal.

i don't know much about the 80's Cutlasses but if that's a chevy motor, swap the heads for Vortec heads. By far, the best bang for the buck. Vortec heads and an RV cam should get you over 300hp easy with a 350.

  • what year chevy tho and for what kind of vehical? i have a 85 supreme that i want to drop a 350 in, thihs is my first time doing this

  • nice ride!! i really liked the cutlass and i had a 76 but they were really heavy cars and geared really low so they didnt move that quick until they got rolling..i never got to finish mine but the finish was to be a 12 bolt rear and 3:73 gears..with the 350 rated at 170 hp that year i was able to pull a 15.7 in the quarter at the time...

  • your kidding me.. i have a 72 cutlass im getting ready to drop a 410Hp chevy 350 with tremec TKO600 and 3:73 rear. im wondering what she will do?

  • nasty!

  • nice sounds!

  • What kinda of flowmasters and piping are u runnin with that?

  • oldsmobile rulezzz

  • how much horsepower??

  • punch it!!!!

  • VERY NICE!

  • cam

  • Nice!

  • i like it 5/5
