  • yes, engine mount is the big problem for ms3. i trying to replace mines but i dont know which brand, or kind of engine mount may be good for my mazda. some help and tips please. The other issue is that i was told that if i go for high performance engine mounts make noise. someone with the problem advice please. thank you

  • Guys a fwd with tons of whp can be controlled. I have a fwd Mitsubishi Mirage 1.8 with 550 whp and ran 10:53 @ 140mph but I had huge M&H slicks 24.5x9.5x13

  • wow pros for this set up i have a 09 bm ms3 im going for mounts first =) i like 2 have better connections with the car b4 i start + 2 hp ehhe i do it right and fwd has its ups and downs but dosent.. AWD and RWD have their own issues to? but i respect all types i dont see y so many people hate on fwd cars ? i mean half the people think they can drift but i highly doubt many actualy do .... cuz it cost alot of money to do so ... and ill enjoy driving my ms3 with my mounts hehe it feels awsome =)

  • @dbrice1988 THIS I highly disagree with.The potential for the speed 3 goes far beyond the power it can make. Granted, If your going for more power, you would be an idiot not to tune the suspension.Set of sway bars, coilovers and of course engine mounts can eliminate wheel hop and torque steer 10 fold.This also improves traction, making higher HP numbers much easier to handle.

  • if theres a fmic actualoly hooked up...y is the top one still in place...and correct me if im wrong but that looks like the fmic from altered customs. and if that were true the intercooler piping would come across the top of the motor...pls to get that hp u would also have to upgrade ur fuel pump internals and go with the ATP GT 3076R turbo...I know because i have done this....so let me know. what in this car??

    what do you think the ms3 dynos stock? depending on the dyno this number seems right, ms6 is even less. reality.

  • @danems6 everything you've said relies on "thats probably". Your cynicism cant change reality. Theres no way that run was 223whp unless it was 2nd. But WHEN* did the turbo spool and how short was the rest of the run to redline after. Sounds expectedly like 400+whp. If it was stock it wouldve spooled much earlier, landed about 5000 and then just taken a while to finish the run to redline. What happens in this video is the complete OPPOSITE. So still I wonder if you have driven an ms6 or dynoed

    The car has been running with this setup for over 1 year. He let the stock I/C for looks but has a front mounted IC. There are other videos about this. In fact there are more cars running with our setup.

    This car runs 11.8 seconds at the 1/4 mile

    We have pictures of the setup if you want. We just want to share our achivements

  • ive always been more concerned with the ecu limiting the power than the motor. As you probably know CPE has made progress recently into the 400+ range with some of their development.

    the only car even close to this power level before CPEs recent developments was a built Ms3 with a 3076 and spray.

    the only way i see this being possible (especially how long ago this was) is if this happens to be a very friendly dyno with a friendly correction factor.

    i still want to see the IC set up either way

  • Well this is a 35xx apparently. Probably a big AR. It'll flow quite a bit more up top, which means the insane torque of the engine can carry on to redline. High torque at redline = massive WHP. (WHP is just a product of tq*rpm) And I dont really consider 465whp "massive". So i'm the opposite, I totally see this as legit. I mean, once boost built up, the run was pretty much over a second later. Sure, we werent there, but from my dyno experiences, WHP seems on par for that turbo

  • and true, the ECU totally cripples top end power if it's not happy!! It's why IMO a HPFP is one of the first mods, not last. When the ECU sees higher pressure, it cut's injector duty, "curing" some of the excess factory richness while also atomizing the fuel better and again IMO, the ECU runs on more stable fuel tables with higher press. I prefer not to tune by mucking with flashes and altered injector duties if I were on stock HPFP. No way! Sorry, I digress...

  • haha your making good points, and i 100% agree with your stance on the HPFP. I just dont see how this car can be making this much more power on a similar turbo to whoosh`s or laloosh`s (forum guys with gt35s). the power band certainly sounds like a BT car, no doubt. when (iirc) they were running similar or more boost.

    either way i still say generous dyno at MINIMUM for that number to happen with the limitations (especially at that time).

    i would love a vid of the engine bay and IC setup too.

  • For those saying it could be the FMIC that converts to ram air, it doesn't turn the TMIC into an intake, it replaces the TMIC and puts a filter in that location.

  • The passenger side pipe on the core itself still has the blue cover sleeve and when he moves the camera over the engine there's no other pipes on the driver's side engine bay or anywhere else. If you're running any of the FMIC that are out on the market or even a custom- it would have been seen.

  • Actually there is a FMIC kit that converts the existing tmic into a "ram-air intake." With a turbo this size it is possible, but improbable.

  • Dual fuel pumps, aftermarket injectors, of course not off the autozone shelf. With enough money you can get these custom made. It's not impossible. I remember a friend had aftermarket parts just three months after the ms3 came out. All one off.

  • it's not the engine that can't handle it, it's the tires that give out first. but many people safely run 20psi on stock internals with basic bolt-ons. A gt35r turbo on the other hand is a whole different beast. i'm sure this guy has forged internals for that; or a blown engine by now

    guess what you need with more air, (ill give you a hint, its fuel). the only way (as of right now) to obtain that kind of fuel output would be adding a secondary fuel rail and injecting fuel into the intake manifold, on top of the stock system which injects directly into the combustion chamber.

  • look it's simple. The Mazda engine makes crazy torque, ingredient #1 for HP. On the stock turbo, that torque falls off fast, so HP peaks early. With a 35R, that KILLER TORQUE carries all the way up to redline, dramatically multiplying the peak HP. Fuckin ricers should just face it.

  • the car makes like 240whp off 16.5psi stock and your tellin me your makin 465 whp of 19 psi and still a top mounted intercooler. no way in hell. no matter what the turbo set up off 19 psi it would never make that much hp. even with a front mount

  • This reading is in SAE which is what Dynojet recommends to read. Of course this is corrected at a 1.32 correction factor. The real power is 362 WHP to the wheels here in Bogota at 20 psi of boost which is the same as 16 psi at sea level. I just uploaded the video to show it not to make any kind of dispute or anything like that. But anyway, we are building a car in Miami and you will all see what the potential is.There are many Mazda 3s running over 500 WHP(real at sea level)with this same setup

  • You can see on the video, the top dyno run is the stock dyno run made on this same Dynojet 248c which is very reliable.

    Dynojets are not adjustable!

    You can compare then the stock dyno at 233 WHP with the run made with the mods. We have built many Mazda 3's with over 500 WHP tested and proven at the track, so why not a Mazdaspeed 3?

  • that's not the corksport intercooler. The intake looks completely different, and that's not even the core from the kit. also, most of the FMIC kits run pipe where the top mount is sitting, so he probably doesn't even have that hooked up. This video is bogus. that much power would wind a dynojet up much faster.

  • This is our own intercooler kit designed to fit the Upgrade turbo kit. The piping runs underneath the engine towards the right side as the turbo oulet faces downwards. The TOP IC is left only for looks because he had bought the Carbon fiber cover. I will post a video of the engine bay with the mods.

  • This car has the stock engine, but the mods are:

    HiBoost turbo manifold, GT35R turbo, Tial 38 mm Wastegate, HiBoost Front mounted intercooler, Cold air intake, Cobb PortAccess, 3 inch exhaust free flow, catless 3 inch downpipe.

    Running 20 psi of boost and the stock TMIC is left for looks, but the car has a front mounted with HKS SSQV blow off valve.

    I am used to this comments when we make high HP cars. Just to show some results. we have made the fastest Protege and the fastest Mazda 3 2.3.

  • The Gt3071 will never come close to the HP the Gt35R can make. I have made the tests. Did you use an external wastegate and high flow manifold?

  • Nicely done... However, you no longer can claim that you have the fastest Mazda 3. Creative in PR does. We not only have the fastest but the most HP as well. w/ 569whp.

  • Xenon, nice to hear from you again. I have not been in the forums much as they take too much time. My car is now making close to 620 HP and running mid 10's. I have a larger turbo TO4Z ball bearing with a built head, larger valves and Crower cams. I am spinning the tires too much in first and second with the slicks but I do not want to cut the fenders to use larger ones. We will have a race in december and I will make sure I make nice videos.
