I was stunned when I heard Tait was stepping in as the Newsboys new front man. I've been a long time DC Talk (and the guys' solo works too) fan and have been a Newsboys fan since around the "Hell is for Wimps" tour (they were opening for Petra (on their "Beyond Belief" tour) when I first saw them). Awesome band. Glad they're still around & putting out great Christian tunes for us!

I was a little worried when I heard Peter was retiring and Tait was taking the reigns. I have every newsboys album since 1992 and was disappointed I wouldn't be able to see peter for easterfest 2010. But I just saw the new video for "born again" and was really impressed. Doesn't sound like the newsboys but it has a new sound that really works.

I've loved his music and was deeply disappointed when he didn't put out any more albums. I think he will be a good singer to keep the integrity of what the newsboys are, their style, and bring a freshness to the newboys that we haven't seen in a while. Most of all, I think he will do what is most important, write songs that glorify the Lord!

Good point... but they always seem to do good with their newest style (I can't think of a better term for it). The Newsboys are one of those bands that can change just enough stuff to keep it interesting without losing the core elements that made them good to begin with. It makes them a superior band.

I know, but the good news is that Peter is producing and (importantly) SONG WRITING! It's still going to have his style. And if you've heard Tait's solo albums, he's got the most amazing voice. It's great in concert too. No it's not Peter, :( but at least it's not totally horrible.
