@vantagetes well seeing the picture makes me wonder y i asked the question if u guys had said compactor instead i would hav known wat u were talking about but no worries
The 650-series scrapers appear to heap about 45 cubic yards in their bowls. However, these scrapers pale in comparison to Caterpillar's 666B scraper, widely regarded as the best scraper ever made. Sadly, Caterpillar discontinued the 666B in 1979 but a few examples still exist in running condition. Maybe some 666B's will be restored to like-new condition and displayed in museums or reused in oil sands, construction, mines, and quarries around the world. Oh, the 666B can hold 54 cubic yards.
im not so knowledgeable about scrapers, about how much do the 650e hold and whats the horsepower on it? Does your company modify any of the machines themselves? Lol in the second scraper looks like the guy is sitting on an old metal seat tractor bouncing up and down.
wow looks like there not even carin 20 yards of dirt, why arent they push pullin, its kinda pointless for them to be running if there not pushpullin

what is a packer

Just google cat 815. It's used to compact (pack) the dirt in the fill so it doesn't settle later on and cause holes.

Nicknames for everything! Buggies = scrapers, wiggle wagons = articulating rock trucks, hoes = excavators etc.

at 1:11 it looks like there is a space between the bowl and the apron as the dirt falls out!
Slimdor 2 years ago
That's normal, the apron has trouble closing all the way when the bowl is full so a little bit spills out.
