First of all you need a uvb light. I didn't have one at first then my turtle got an eye infection. But once i got one he i fine now. For your question it takes time for a turtle to settle in the new encloser. If it gets over a week take him to a vet.

That means you will need a 120+ gallon tank when he is fully grown. Also a canister filter is best, those hang on backs(especially ones without a bio wheel) are horrible, especially for turtles! You need LOTS of bio-filtration, more so with turtles as they create much waste, which turns into ammonia/nitrite without proper filtration.
It could be that the temperature of your tank is too cold...it could also be a lot of other things, like your turtle is sick...any other observations you have about your turtle...?

Actually they can live for 20 years in the wild and about 20-25 years captive. The females can get up to 16 inches long. Yes they do need deep water. As deep as possible without the possibility of your turtle climbing out of the top by using the turtle dock or basking rocks, which is also a MUST. It is nice to see that you cleared some things up for some of these senseless people though. :)

1) You DO have a UV light AND a heat light for him right?
2) He will get 12" or dinner plate size, so a BIG tank (30 breeder tank) is needed. A 20L is the smallest you could probably go for 1 turtle.

you dont have to dangle food to tease the red eared sliders. All they have to see is you walking in the room and they quickly swim towards you just like the video shows.

haha how cute! is it a red eared slider? i have one of those...thats a really cool set-up in there!!! ...is that water too deep for him? i always heard the turtle should be able to reach the surface standing from the bottom...well idk bout that...mine cant even swim in his :( *hates evaporation...* lol well thats a cute turtle
