Here's some info. Check "Mapping Notes" on Page 12 of the Mixdeck quick start guide and it actually tells you that some controls in traktor LE (numark edition included with mixdeck) are mapped as different functions to some of the actual controls on the mixdeck (check page 12). Looks like we basically have to shell out more money for Pro software so this machine can function properly.

idk where to start. like im starting out djing and i dont even have a deck yet cuz im not sure which one to get (but i am going to be a cd dj and i was looking at the numark mixdeck and its like 2 cd tables and sum sick mixer built in with cd and ipod capability for 700 bux).

The thing with buying "Entry Level" equipment is that once you master it, you get bored and just have to buy the "Better" stuff anyway.

Have you had any problems with the crossfader? I have not been able to gradually blend songs. Soon as I move the fader to blend it goes right into the song instead of allowing me to blend it gradually.

2 Totally different pieces. NS7 has recently been replaced with NS7FX. NS7 is a controller only and must be used with software. The Mixdeck can be used as a controller as well or standalone with CD or USB.

First question if I plug in a external hardrive into the usb in the corner will I be able to browse by folder? Second will I be able to view usb songs from the right deck on the left?

Third Will Traktor be able to be on both platters at the same time?

Fourth question when playing traktor will the mixdeck allow me to scratch traktor music physically?

Fifth will VDJ6 recognize the decks both as timecodes?

You can folder browse on the screens.

Each platter will control a deck in Traktor (2 simultaneously)

The platters will allow you to scratch Traktor decks

You can control any midi capable software via USB midi without the need for timecode

I'm not sure about viewing USB media on both screens, but as it accepts and iPod (single dock) as well I'd assume you'd be able to view the media on each screen.

They are 2 totally different pieces at different prices. The VMS4 is a controller for software and will function as a stand alone analog mixer as well. The Mixdeck is a controller as well and can be used with software, but will also allow you to play CD's and USB media without a computer.

I take request for music all the time but I would "never" take someone's Ipod or thumb drive and plug it into my anything. Not to be a dick at all but for 2 main reasons. 1 that makes me responsible over there device and if anything goes wrong ever they could say it worked fine before i used it. 2. If their computer has an audio file with a virus in it then I would know and here I go plugging it into my gear and putting the same virus on my computer and stuff.
