So much misinformation... C'mon, Google is at your fingertips! First, JT wrote the song: the first part ("Just yesterday morning..." etc etc) is about Suzanne Schnerr, a friend of his who had committed suicide; the second part ("Won't you look down upon me Jesus..." etc etc) is about his drug addiction, and the last part ("Been walking my mind to an easy time"... etc etc) is about his own views (and fears) on his career. Second, he never married Carole King, but Carly Simon!
The song "Fire and Rain" was written by James Taylor not Carole KIng. Taylor was married to King for a while but then they divorced. She wrote "Youv'e Got A Friend" which was a big hit for James Taylor. I think you are confusing "You've Got A Friend" with "Fire and Rain". Nice playing and singing. Peace,

Carole King wrote "You've Got a Friend," not "Fire and Rain." She did play piano on the album, though.

And Caole King did not marry James Taylor. He was married to Carly Simon later.
