Weird. I've read a lot about this scene. It doesn't look like the man in blackface was trying to rape her. It looks like he was respectfully trying to ask her to marry him, and instead she got all hysterical and ran off. He chases her to explain, and the idiot kills herself.

@BootySweat4491 The truth hurts doesn't it. Southern women were raped and taken advantage of like the women in many conquered lands. I'm glad you find it offensive. It's offends me that you are not offended by what the North did to the south. Close to a million dead, the land raped and stolen and it's civilians tortured, killed and scattered. There is no market cornered on hurt feelings. Only one group has made an industry out of it.
