I've seen this model in person and it's beautiful! I plan to get it, but at the moment, the retail price of £130-odd is a bit out of my budget. It's got me interested in learning about the actual locomotives themselves, as wel as supporting a revival of the class like Tornado is of the A1s.
One question though, Hornby, why show a video of it without the tender?
Well done Hornby an outstanding model. Excellent detail and if like the Brit class well weighted and a beautiful runner. Will the dcc socket be in the tender or loco? Looking forward to "tweaking" it a little with sound smoke and lights. A new benchmark has being set!
I bought the Britannia this year, and in order for it to negotiate my curves, it's a must. If it's the same set-up as the Brit, you'll get a spare axle with flanged wheels in the box, so you can choose your preference.
Excellent, mine is on order and keenly awaited. One thing to days manufacturers get wrong, they seem to think the only steam engines to wheather are those with the later tender emblem seen towards the end of steam. they were dirty in the fifties too.
beautiful although my layouts modern so mainline certified steam loco only i buy

Very impressive, thankyou Hornby for being brave and showing pre-production .
Superb modelling, Valve gear needs to be 'handed' like the 4MT...and as in some late production Britannias, but that's nit-picking. Bravo!

I might just get that. I love the way that Hornby are showing their models on YouTube, everyone of them has to be 5 stars!

I can't assemble kits to this standard, let alone paint them. Sets a very high standard. Only thing I dislike is the flangeless pony truck wheel.
