There's a sales tax when you buy the dog, but there's not really a yearly tax. You're suppose to get a tag for the dog so they can keep records for it I guess, but I've never seen that enforced. I've never payed a tax for owning a dog. Maybe it depends on what state you live in.
On the bright side, places like pounds or places they sell pets are getting stricter with making sure people neuter/spay their animals. It's not hard, almost painless for the animal, and ensures less animals end up in the pound in the first place.

Switzerland do not have a prohibition on the consumption of dog meat however the trading and sale of it is illegal. During time of famine and wars eating dog meat is also prevalent in some parts of Europe.

There's a sales tax when you buy the dog, but there's not really a yearly tax. You're suppose to get a tag for the dog so they can keep records for it I guess, but I've never seen that enforced. I've never payed a tax for owning a dog. Maybe it depends on what state you live in.

On the bright side, places like pounds or places they sell pets are getting stricter with making sure people neuter/spay their animals. It's not hard, almost painless for the animal, and ensures less animals end up in the pound in the first place.
