A lot of this is populist talk, which is needed don't get me wrong. However, you must take it with a grain of salt. However, the populist talk that is going on here, needs to be going on there. You win a war with ideas and help...
Sup Aerotides. The Kool Aid phrase... "don't drink the Kool Aid" and things like that... stem from the religious serial killer - Jim Jones. He formed his own town in Africa... named Jonestown... and to make a long story short... he cooked up a batch of Kool Aid mix... mixed Cyanide with it... and over 900 people commit mass suicide.
There is an excellent documentary on it. He claimed he was god and convinced mostly Black people to - well - kill themselves.
"We kept our troops in Iraq to help establish a sovereign government, and you got the job done. We went to Iraq to find Weapons of Mass Des- uh.. never mind"
Pulling out the majority of forces might not be the best thing for the people of Iraq.
Do we really need another Iran?
Whos to say extremists wont take charge in Iraq a few years after the US leaves? If the locals, both army and political structure, isnt strong enough to stop a extremist push.
Like in Germany after ww1, or Iran after the fall of the King. The world will end up with another Iran like state.... and that would be worse than secular Saddam Hussein, I think.
I think it'd be chaotic. You got the Kurds in the north. You got U.S. defending the oil fields (the very reason why we're there). You got the insurgents but are they Sunni or Shia? If Shia, then it would go into Iran's favor but if Sunni, it could not. I don't think it'd be any real difference from Afghan and Pakistan. The Taliban strangely still exist.
So what would be your solution? Staying in there indefinitely? If our justification is that if we pull out of Iraq, then extremist militants would take over, then there are only two courses of action: either stay there forever, or kill every extremist, which is essentially genocide.
The invasion was on wrong grounds and I dont wanna say "I have the solution.", but my point of view is that there should be enough "controllable" forces, like US troops, in Iraq until the political structure is strong enough to withstand simple revolutionary strategies like infiltrating the local military etc.
How long will that take?
Thats a wild guess, even by experts, but the point is, at least looking at the US needed resources down there, it might just as well be less expansive to stay.
The way Nazi kill Jews same way Israeli systematically kill to the people in Gaza. For what? because Israeli can not kill Nazi in Germany that's why you take revenge against

They spoke about Ayers for maybe a week and ususally in defense of him or dsimissing Obama's association with him as irrelevant. While anything they could drag up on Palin or McCain was shown through the whole campaign. Regardles this isn't about Bush or McCain or Palin or Fox.
thats bullshit... talked about him for a week my ass. ayers wright and rezko were discussed all throughout the primaries and part of the general election as well. hell, even msnbc's debate moderators (russert and williams) pressed obama on the issue.
you're sick. you think Bush had experience? He ducked out of his last year at the National Guard and got his Daddy to smudge the papers...
"Bush asserts that he turned up and did his duty. However, no one on the base remembers seeing him, including the commanding officer and several other officers who say they were actively looking to network with the hot-shot Texan with the influential father--but waited in vain."
was bush in the military? did he have experience? since when do you have to be in the military to be president of the united states? thats why he has military generals.
Yes Bush had bipartisan support. But both parties had strong Jewish influence. No representative voted against, because they would be targeted/defamed/punished by strong Jewish lobby. Israel wanted to get rid of Saddam, at Americans expense. So everything was devised, so everything worked.
"we sent our troops to Iraq to do away with Saddam's regime"...REALLY? and heres me thinking it was the WMD- we all know the true reason was OIL!!! stop lying for Bush Mr Prez, i don't wanna lose my respect for you!
So they F'ed up, in the end it's the same as full support. They shouldn't have weaseled out over some political losses; they should have attacked the policy based on clearly inaccurate information.
Yea with fear when you tell people that they had something to do with 9/11 . All those who voted for this War with out actually paying attention to the 9/11 reports should have been voted out.
B ecause he scared everyone to death with the WMD bullshit and the democrats didnt look into it as well as they should have.. Also they didnt want to be wrong. The republican party is very good at manipulation.
"didnt look into it as well as they should have.. " The whole world could smell the BS in Collins speech miles away. And the people deciding to send young men and women to die "didnt look into it as well as they should have.. "
Yeah I agree. The only reason we are staying longer is to make republican happier... but neither the democrats or republicans want that kind of withdraw making both parties unhappy... which I find totally hilarious: They seem to be only together when it comes to say NO.
No the troops didn't do a good job, no they didn't come to end saddams regime, no the Iraqi people are not better off. No job done, no mission accomplished, no improvement and a lot of lives unnecessary lost.
And Cenk thinks he is exactly right? You got to be kidding me.
Obama inherited what we have in Iraq now. And these people need to come back having felt that they accomplished something. Classic Obama Compromise : "Clearly defined goals ""Costs of action"
Sure he inherited the situation in Iraq, but he doesn't seem to mind much as he inherited the Bush doctrine as well.
And for some reason he doesn't receive too much criticism for that.
No, instead you read ignorant comments like "Lets hope this tone changes the course of American foreign policy forever.", while it's already obvious that Obama has chosen not to.
So telling people lies as reassurance acceptable? And believing bullshit is okay if it makes you feel good? USA seems to think so.
Changing foreign policy just after a 'regime' change is not like flicking a switch. Iraq is a mess but the troops still need bringing back. In 5 or 10 or 15 years from now Iraq will end up in civil war as a direct result of this 'invasion'. Funny! but not only Iraq has been invaded or hijacked by people of questionable motives, America was stolen from it's people when Bush and his cronies got into power.
We'll see. If not you'll see a lot of people withdraw their vote for you next election. Then again I think the Republicans you've added to your staff will make sure they do.
Why doesn't he just do what the people want. They VOTED HIM IN TO GET OUT OF THE WAR. Also, this 'combat troops' thing is BS. They've already said they'll be doing 'limited missions'.
but if we leave we "Lose" and the US can't bear to stomach losing Militarily in a 3rd world country in a protracted conflict , which is exactly what happened.
Obama is an appeaser of the Neo-Cons but with a different tone.
Lets hope this tone changes the course of American foreign policy forever.
people aren't seeing the puppet masters behind the u.s gov't, there is no democracy left it doesn't matter who you vote for the choices will be made by zionists, yes bush was half retarded but the choices were not his, he was a front that is now washed away to make room for another front man obama and the cycle continues until we break the hold zionists have on the U.S gov't and media. obama may be pulling out of iraq but now he is going to go into pakistan which he has been bombing.
YAY! I have a friend! Oh God, thank the Heaven's above! My prayers have been answered! Glory! I love you SwobyJ. I love you more than life itself. You are the most wonderful person in the world! Huzzah! I'm going to go and tell everyone I know about my best friend SwobyJ and then they'll know that I do too have a friend and so shut up. Excelsior!
WHEN barack obama decided to put the WHITE MAN BEHIND HIM ! in the background that was a subliminal message he is telling his fanbase ! which is its all about the black man who gives a phuck what whitey thinks ! he can take a backseat in this administration ! and his policies are right in line with his mission !
is it just me or does obama seem so much more articulate, smarter, punctual and genuine than bush ever was?
bush would have sat there and said, mission accomplished!!! used the word terror, terrorist, 9/11 and insurgents about 1000 times and all with a shit eating smirk on his face like hes a fucking cowboy.
regardless of your political affiliation......you cant sit there and tell me bush is more genuine and real than obama

funny how barack obama positioned the people in the background ! does it seem funny he is blocking out the white guy behind him ! i think his black supremecy mindset is being exposed ! we shall overcome someday ! lol !
Btw....EVERY troop is a combat troop. Every troop was trained for battle and if shit hits the fan they will fight that battle.....So when he says he's going to withdraw all combat troops and leave 50000 then he either is stupid (which I doubt) or he is lying to you.
Although it is true that all troops are trained for combat. One thing is not being discussed. All of us who have served our country in combat does not want to leave Iraq in worst condition than when we got there. It would mean that all of the time I and others who spent years in the country, went to waste. Can we at least leave the country in a good position for democracy? Instead of leaving it unstable.
I am in the military and I have been to Iraq. During my time in Iraq, I felt as though we help the iraqi people. While I was there I learned that the ppl of Iraq, felt that it was time for us to leave. I love my country and I am willing to do whatever for it. I just want to let everyone know. All of the ppl that I know, are very happy to be getting out of Iraq. Thank God that Barack has a game plan. He is being responsible and is not getting us out until all of the bases are covered.
Thank you for your service. Thank you for doing what your country asked of you. Thank you for seeing what the people of Iraq want. Thank you for seeing that our new great President Obama really does care for you and for all people. Pray for him as we pray for you. Thank you and God bless you.
hey you arent the only one.........my brother was there and he feels the same way.....two of my best friends both went and they both said its fucked up there and we should get out..........i am proud of our troops and the fact they do what they do, but the politicians always fuck it up

The US cannot WIN in Iraq and Stan.
Why?
For generations, loads of Niggers have been killed and jailed.
Till today, Niggers are jailed and killed everyday.
But the US is still full of violent Niggers on the streets.
NOTHING has changed.
As long as Niggers continue thriving, so will Islamist insurgents in their homeland. Simple logic.

Yes Bush had bipartisan support. But both parties had strong Jewish influence. No representative voted against, because they would be targeted/defamed/punished by strong Jewish lobby. Israel wanted to get rid of Saddam, at Americans expense. So everything was devised, so everything worked.
majestik143 2 years ago
"we sent our troops to Iraq to do away with Saddam's regime"...REALLY? and heres me thinking it was the WMD- we all know the true reason was OIL!!! stop lying for Bush Mr Prez, i don't wanna lose my respect for you!

Oye, true, but it looked more like like silent consent, unquestioned compliance.
Dradeeus 2 years ago
So they F'ed up, in the end it's the same as full support. They shouldn't have weaseled out over some political losses; they should have attacked the policy based on clearly inaccurate information.
wimscheers 2 years ago
Yea with fear when you tell people that they had something to do with 9/11 . All those who voted for this War with out actually paying attention to the 9/11 reports should have been voted out.
rell127 2 years ago

I don't like those bs filled Obama speeches.
No the troops didn't do a good job, no they didn't come to end saddams regime, no the Iraqi people are not better off. No job done, no mission accomplished, no improvement and a lot of lives unnecessary lost.
And Cenk thinks he is exactly right? You got to be kidding me.
TimesEyes 2 years ago
Obama inherited what we have in Iraq now. And these people need to come back having felt that they accomplished something. Classic Obama Compromise : "Clearly defined goals ""Costs of action"
poosnip 2 years ago
Sure he inherited the situation in Iraq, but he doesn't seem to mind much as he inherited the Bush doctrine as well.
And for some reason he doesn't receive too much criticism for that.
No, instead you read ignorant comments like "Lets hope this tone changes the course of American foreign policy forever.", while it's already obvious that Obama has chosen not to.
So telling people lies as reassurance acceptable? And believing bullshit is okay if it makes you feel good? USA seems to think so.
TimesEyes 2 years ago
I like TYT but they're too soft on Obama.
paganiniGOGO 2 years ago
thats because hes liberal... just like fox news was so soft on bush.
GstateBALLER925 2 years ago
my point was they should be more critical of his more conservative policies.
paganiniGOGO 2 years ago
Changing foreign policy just after a 'regime' change is not like flicking a switch. Iraq is a mess but the troops still need bringing back. In 5 or 10 or 15 years from now Iraq will end up in civil war as a direct result of this 'invasion'. Funny! but not only Iraq has been invaded or hijacked by people of questionable motives, America was stolen from it's people when Bush and his cronies got into power.

The only ones who can win Afghanistan is the Afghans themselves.
I hope Obama understands this.

We'll see. If not you'll see a lot of people withdraw their vote for you next election. Then again I think the Republicans you've added to your staff will make sure they do.
Snapscape 2 years ago
Why doesn't he just do what the people want. They VOTED HIM IN TO GET OUT OF THE WAR. Also, this 'combat troops' thing is BS. They've already said they'll be doing 'limited missions'.
mongoose7001 2 years ago
its true your right...
but if we leave we "Lose" and the US can't bear to stomach losing Militarily in a 3rd world country in a protracted conflict , which is exactly what happened.

Btw....EVERY troop is a combat troop. Every troop was trained for battle and if shit hits the fan they will fight that battle.....So when he says he's going to withdraw all combat troops and leave 50000 then he either is stupid (which I doubt) or he is lying to you.
exacerbatedtaboo 2 years ago
good point
raughn3 2 years ago
Although it is true that all troops are trained for combat. One thing is not being discussed. All of us who have served our country in combat does not want to leave Iraq in worst condition than when we got there. It would mean that all of the time I and others who spent years in the country, went to waste. Can we at least leave the country in a good position for democracy? Instead of leaving it unstable.
tubbie27 2 years ago
While all troops are trained to some degree in combat, there is a clear distinction between combat arms, and non-combat arms units.
Troops aren't goint to be left without the means to defend themselves if needed.
jesse1018 2 years ago
Or he could mean they are not there for combat purposes?
AustralianStallion90 2 years ago
No he couldn't cause to say that would be the same thing as saying Al CIAda has completely left Iraq.
exacerbatedtaboo 2 years ago
We need to quit referring to it as a withdraw and start referring to it as troop reduction which is exactly what this is.

He is being responsible and is not getting us out until all of the bases are covered.
tubbie27 2 years ago 10
Thank you for your service. Thank you for doing what your country asked of you. Thank you for seeing what the people of Iraq want. Thank you for seeing that our new great President Obama really does care for you and for all people. Pray for him as we pray for you. Thank you and God bless you.

hey you arent the only one.........my brother was there and he feels the same way.....two of my best friends both went and they both said its fucked up there and we should get out..........i am proud of our troops and the fact they do what they do, but the politicians always fuck it up

All troops out of Iraq? I will believe it when I see it.
The US has build a dozen military bases in Iraq and an "embassy" bigger than Vatican city. Clearly with long-term occupation of Iraq in mind.
