  • "HA-DOOOOO-O-KEN!"

  • I want to know if any of these tournaments take place in Canada because this game(street fighter II turbo) is a game ive played so much that i really wish i knew others who played it. Does anyone know?

  • @Newblish I know they had these tournaments in MN back in 93 94. I played in like dozen while in college. They used to run these at Pops Mpls and different mall arcades on Saturdays. I used chase after Ken and Ryu all day with Zangief down in Coffman Union. Those were some great days. SF2 MK2 and Tournament Cyberball 2072 all day between and after the classes

  • 0:33.....'MMMMmmmmm'

  • lol, japanese Nintendo fanboys... you really have to be into super nintendo to play sf2 with those ugly shoulder buttons.

  • Daigo getting owned

  • Commentator loves to say "Otto...!"

  • Choose another stage, jerks!

  • ui

  • sometimes I forget how fucking old this game is

  • Please upload lower ladder matches if possible.

  • Essh, I don't know. I really like Nintendo and all, and that looks like it could be fun for car rides etc., but I've always much preferred consoles to hand helds. I really need that big screen TV screen ya know? Can it plug into TV's? So that you can just play from the hand held and see it on the screen?

I was thinking about finally getting a Wii tho. Do you know if Nintendo is planning on making a new console any time soon?

  • この大会子供の頃出たくてしょーがなかったんだよな〜(´・ω・`)

    俺ならチャンピオンに勝てる!.........

    かな?(笑)

  • seeing this really shows a difference in aproaches to using SF characters...these guys are more into projectiles and heavy kicks

  • pad vs Arcade joystick ???

  • 国技館で行われたスーパーファミコンの『ストⅡターボ』の全国大会は、すごい歓声だね。

    解説付きで結構試合展開や相手の攻め方がわかりやすかった。

  • ナレーター声うざいけど分かりやすいw

  • anyone recognize the players here?

  • hehe god bless japan

  • It's kinda odd hearing a japanese man name a chinese attack by it's english name

  • lol, mashing the snes controller...I laugh because that was me! For once it showed me, I never got a chance to play arcades.

  • @ovkenike Are you saying you are playing in the video?

  • @RandomlineProduction OOps, loll no, definitely wasn't me. Didn't mean to sound so literal. I meant I felt alone in the SNES SF world. I never got to play the arcades growing up. I've never seen a Street Fighter in the arcades before in my life.

  • @ovkenike That is what I thought lol. You going to get a Nintendo 3DS?

  • I would like to play a round with that Sagat me using ryu to show him who is the best ..

  • a bit slow for the escond one !!

  • @eggsandham11 no you are

  • super nintendo? Oo

  • sagat is a faggot

  • wow they used joystick, its hard to used joystick

  • @asyo22 99% of competitive fighting game players use a joystick.

  • @asyo22 Not if you grew up in Japan, were the majority of their Fighting game community play and practice at the arcade. Their joystick is our pad equivalent.

  • Dubaru Headbutto

  • That Ryu player played really awkward at times, random hurricane kicks that could have easily of been punished yet were left unpunished.

Plus he was jumping in WAY too much, especially against his match up on Sagat. In the Sim match up there was many times he could've Shoryu the Drill and gain the position but just opted to block instead.

These guys were solid players, but not Japan's best during that time period. The arcade players were vastly superior by far. Still a fun watch.

  • the SNES version of turbo was a lot different from the arcade. Ken still had his cheap redizzy hurricane and Chuns air throw was godly. (as you can see in the video).

  • OGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

  • Pad playing, hell yeah ; P

  • if you look down at the fighters' feet they always have a shadow of an upside down heart.

  • in the old sf2, dhalsim used to wear the mcdonalds brown bag as his pants. he upgraded in CE to something else i can't make out here

  • Wow, first SF4 japanese tournament,

    it's still Sim vs Sagat.

not much has changed, thank God the SF scene didn't sell out and go MLG.

  • lol what sim players

  • first match

  • in sf4 dumbass

  • arturo, iyo, utj

  • thats really nostalgic...the music, the sounds, everything.

  • ryu................ken

  • I really liked that Dhalsim player. Great seeing how he manuvers in pre-ST. Less rushdown centric. It was much harder to control space with his drills back then as well. I'm a career Sim player, and played a lot of HF on the SNES. But I can see I played him all wrong. Man, if I know what I knew then what I know now, I would have smoked people in arcades back in 1993. Looking to smoke people on HD Remix whenever I overcome this unemployement

  • Hey, I'd like to see you do better in freakin' SF2 CE.

  • Why ?

  • Yeah, Sagat is one character I'd love to see left out of the next SF.

  • なつかしいね~15年前か...戻りたい。

  • Why are they playing the Super Famicom version?

  • Why not.

  • おれのほうが強い気がするw

  • Chunli's air throw had a lot of range in the SNES port.

  • LOL fucking scrub. Oh noes, someone is taking advantage of the corners and pinning someone up in them. Oh noes, thats so wrong, thats only how nubs play.

Not everyone can be great like the awesome AoiSkywalker huh.

  • they would kick your ass with only one hand.

    its call strategy.

  • this bring back memories. good times :-)

  • It's funny you mention that Toneman because I also have that EGM issue. It's also the same issue where they preview SSF2 for the first time.

  • I still have the EGM issue with the article that covered this tournament (October 1993) . The Sagat player (Takahiro Nakano) won a SF2 jacket, SF2 mountain bike, & a trophy signed by Capcom's president. Anyone who wants to see the scans PM me.

  • Also, the announcement for "SF2: The Animated Movie" was made at this event.

  • wow what a hater

  • I would flog those guys :)

One of the best games ever!

  • I made history in this game.

  • Very cool vid. I wish HF had a bigger following on SNES.

  • A pads-only tournie? Interesting!

  • I wanna participate there, I neesd money and Im the best player, no one win me

  • wow Japan must be a fun place..where can you find a show that'll hype up a simple tournament..but in a good way..

and please do not mention ARENA from G4 channel

  • You got mail.

  • that's why it isnt aired anymore a least where I live..LOL

But you are right that show only emphasizes those FPS games....

  • @platano214

    any us tourney stream?
