  • mine i got from my dad, he said it was a champ but i pulled it outta my garage and powered it on, keyed it up! annnnnd a horrible noise! it will transmit the same noise on air but wont get words out.....any soloution? i wanna be able to get the run out of it as my dad :P

  • I bought mine in 1991, an awesome CB! Unfortunately the bands are very quiet these days.

  • very good video.

  • I just bought mine for $20, made in Philippines, all LED's work, and in excellent like-new condition. Awesome radio, receive is extrememly sensitive and has great modulation like the PC122XL, which I also have. I think these two radios are one of the best CB-based AM/SSB radios that were produced by UNIDEN, unfortunately, they don't make them anymore. Nevertheless, an awsome gear and can get them dirt cheap on line.

  • I bought mine locally here in NJ for $20, and mine's like brand spanking new, and it was made in the Philippines, not Taiwan. Fortunately, the LEDs all work fine, and I run it in DIM mode, not in bright mode, so that will provide some assurance that they won't burn out. Now, DIM and bright settings really makes very little difference, I am looking for the +8VDC source to the LED display so I can drop the voltage even further. You can technically add a IC based regulator in line to proivide..

  • how much do these radios go for? and where could i get one?

  • Great Review! Like you said, unfortunately the display comes to a major problem now days since Uniden has discontinued this part and is no longer available. If you're lucky enough, you'll find a display on line for a outrageous price.

I own 7 of these. on 2 of them , display works perfectly and before one of the segments burn out, I change the transistor that regulates the power to it. They work great now! but the other 5, still need to replace the display. 73's

  • Again thanks for the review! It's nice to see some of the more rare radios. I never knew about the 122 until your 122 XL review. I was lucky enough to buy a brand new in box on eFee.

  • @Bologna4u

    Just like to know,

The FRX75 works good on the Cobra 29 but that is just a am and I like to do some ssb with the same out put as the 29.

  • Very nice Radio ........nice and "Tidy"

  • Nice looking unit....are they still in production?

  • No longer in production - I bought mine on a CB forum. They are on eBay from time to time. This radio is similar to the base version - the 810e.

  • Will the RFX75 work on this raido?

  • interesting radio. where did you get yours? how much do they usually cost?
