less than 14 inches, unless you angle the gun, then you might make 2 1/2 feet.

I think you could add another "snowflake gear" and lateral slide/gear to the side, but change the timing, so while the slide on side is being released, the other is being pulled. So instead of the motor pulling a slide back roughly half of the time, it will be always bearing a load. This could double the fire rate.

I realize that the motor is pulling the slide back longer than the stage where the rubber band is pulling the slide forward, but it may still work.

Just food for thought.

that is one of the best ive seen not the looks of the gun but sure is a pretty good design. i have seen a shapened black rod go through a CD and 2 pretty good sized beer cans but it was a sniper rifle with medical bands and that is a motor.

It is not, the weakest motor is the tiny grey motor. It looks exactly the same as the black one, but the only difference is the color. It goes fast but you can stop it so easy. (I am not talking about the Trekker, that is the most powerful...)

Tried that. One of two things happend: The longer teeth got stuck in the firing pin, the motor couldn't take the stress.

I don't think they count reload time when measuring rpm. I think the way they do it is count how many rounds it fires per second then multiply by 60.
