i just remember a longgggggggggg time ago in the summer i went to my friends(never seen her again)trailor and i couldint sleep so i was watching this!!
I heard this song on another video first, and the lyrics and music don't seem to fit the scenes. I imagined him being much more...evil and villainous.
I loved this movie, you could really tell the writers had a lot of fun with doing this with the way they keep breaking the fourth wall and the other jokes.
@WaltDisneySongs That's what it's called! I was trying to remember, but had no idea. It's the theme music for Alton Towers, the amusement park in the UK :P
@wolf604 Good guess, but no. The song is made for an old Norwegian poem by Henrik Ibsen called Peer Gynt. The song is written by Edvard (Edward) Grieg and is supposed to give the feeling of a troll that is on the approach. The entire song is a build up that gets faster and more intense as it goes on, and in the end it finishes with an epic finally.
The song is originally called "I Dovregubbens hall" but is usually called "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by most English speaking countries.
Normally I hate villain songs. but this is an exception. Not only is this catchy, but Pete isn't really a villain he's just playing one for the movie.
Yeah, for the plot. Actor's do whatever the script calls for with the exception of improv. One example of this I believe is the end of this song when Pete wonders why the music stopped. Since he sound genuinely confused I think he wasn't pre-warned of this part so that his reaction would be convincing.
If there ever was a true villain in Mickey's world, I believe it would be Mortimer Mouse. He's the only one who isn't friends with anybody whereas Pete's friends with Goofy.
@MWolfL Well, that's Goofy for ya. You could put Goofy in the same room as a serial killer and he'd somehow be friends with them and not be killed. But I totally agree with your statement, Mortimer is the only one that could be a true villian, I personally despise that mouse though. >.>
Me too, Mortimer is a big ugly jerk. You can bet the only acting Mortimer did in his scenes in cartoons like House of Mouse was toning down his insults and gags against Mickey at the company's request. If the company hadn't requested it...well...I don't even wanna think about what Mortimer would've done to Mickey.
No, Mickey and his pals are actors - hence the lack of continuity in the cartoons - so when Pete isn't acting for a movie or TV show he's a lot nicer.
@Mcmadness288 what? 0_o'' so does that mean the actors themselves are good\evil and or have a horrible rival history? 0_o HOW COME NO ONE EVER TELLS ME THIS STUFF?!
@Mcmadness288 You got me thinking about how long Pete's been at the villain game - he's been a go-to vilain for Disney's animation for around 86 years now! That's older than Mickey himself!
As for the ones in Ducktales not sure, I think Ducktales is in the middle of 'acting' and 'real life'. You know, some of the stuff is true but there are details that are exaggerated. I guess the Beagle family in Ducktales are crooks but the episodes we've seen were acted out (like anytime they got a hold of Scrooge's money it was actually fake money or something like that).
@MWolfL I'm just curious. Where did you get the 411 that Pete and the Beagle Boys for this movie are not bad guys "off-screen" because there are non-believers who want to know?
In Pete's case it's because Goofy wouldn't become friends with a villain. Goofy may be trusting at times but he's not stupid. Plus, Pete was actually friendlier in the Goofy Movies (still lacking in a moral code and lazy, but friendlier).
The Beagle Boys I'm not even sure, it's just a hopeful guess. I could be wrong.

I know they're all toons, but Pete still counts as a villain.
The creepy way he was portrayed in the Christmas Carol pretty much proves it.

What about the Goofy movies and Goof Troop? He was just a lazy father/husband in those.

@MWolfL Pete's been a bad guy since the beginning of his "career".
He's stole things, kidnapped people, killed people even.
His crimes have ranged from mild annoyance to stuff that you would get the death penalty for.
Mcmadness288 1 year ago
@Mcmadness288
Yeah, *onscreen*. Off-screen he has some moral issues but he's not a badguy, he's a lot nicer.
MWolfL 1 year ago
@MWolfL What do you mean "on screen?"
He's always been a badguy except during the goof troop era.

No, Mickey and his pals are actors - hence the lack of continuity in the cartoons - so when Pete isn't acting for a movie or TV show he's a lot nicer.

@MWolfL The whole them being actors thing is just a 4th wall breaking joke.
Pete is a bad guy.
His character was created to be a bad guy.
He's pretty much always been a bad guy.
That stuff about them being actors is just stuff they tell the kiddies.
