  • Lol, I love how he sounds awesome while not really even trying to sing:')

  • WOA He's gorgeous. lol

  • Great choreography for a high school production. Count me impressed. And good costumes too! An all around good job, I think :)

  • this was fantastic choreography but the guy needed to get way more into character. he sounded bored the whole time

  • This is impressive choreography, I must say.

  • Why is there a goat sound if there's no goat fucking from the original choreography? It makes no sense in this context.

  • GREAT!

  • That is a wonderful set you have there! I don't believe high schools should be doing Cabaret. I love it, but there are too many restrictions to do a decent rendering of it. Also, parents get mad, don't go see it, and then you lose a good portion of your ticket sales.

  • I can see how this is hard to do in High school lyrics choreography and dialogue would have to be changed and you guys did an awesome job at it thumbs up :)

  • My teacher wanted to do Cabaret as well, and we had some Sallys but we have too many Mormons in our community who would of revolted.

  • Very nice for a High School production. Some actual talent. One of the best of a H.S. production. Thanks

  • This is really good, even the substituted lyrics fit well...it's like a cleaned up Cabaret, but more than the average HS production.

    Bravo.

  • Oh my goodness! I wish my high school would have allowed us to do Cabaret. We wouldn't even be allowed to be as sexual as this. We had to censor our production of Grease.

  • ew so did we... we actually used a pre-edited script i felt like i was in the 5th grade version.... i mean the stage production is already bad enough w/o being chopped up... o it was Terrible!

  • He is a fantastic emcee!

  • I wish my school did cabaret! My teacher wanted too, but she said we didnt have a Sally.

  • I've seen some productions without a good Sally. One just lately in Rockland County [NY]. They're all CRAP! Your director is very wise to hold-out for the "perfect" lead actors!

  • Please, please, please post more of this wonderful production!!! "Cabaret", "Money, money", "Maybe this time"

    PLEASE!!!!!!!

  • AMAZING!

    I really love it!!

  • It's really easy to look past that this is a high school production, seriously. The choreography is so adorable, I've seen community theatres who didn't even have to worry about any sort of censorship that had less 'sexual' dancing in it.

  • GREAT !

the choreography was sooo cute :D

    good job

  • tHAT WAS GREAT

  • Woooow. I was like a HS DOING CABARET?!?! But it was well done for what the limitations in a HS setting are.

  • this is awesome. the innuendos are almost better than the outright bawdy stuff.

  • THe person who got fired also OK'd it from the schools administration guy... it's cool tha tyou guys get to do that kind of shows without being worried baout that sorta thing.

  • I love the part where they are doing the hand clap games. I wish one of the two ladies was a guy. Because that is usually how htey do it isn't it? And it is more comedic especially because the guy is doing falsetto the whole time untill in a low voice welike it comes out it is sooo funny! But good job for an HS a school in our area did Cabaret and the director got fired because of it.

  • Hi,

As I wrote many months ago.. The original script had 2 females. Mendes changed it for his slutty revival. This is a HIGH SCHOOL, so the gender remained XX & XX.

As far as getting fired.. the school's administration ok'd CABARET before the director started rehearsals, so his ass was covered.

  • BADbADBAD

  • WHATwHATWHAT

  • although the set and acting style was not that of the original; this is one of the best performances i've seen for this. i am searching youtube for the original but finding all these stage acts

  • Me too... Alan Cummings was odd... likable but was just not Joel Grey...

  • Great emcee (cute too), but I have to say he was more from the Alan Cumming mold than Joel Grey whom I preferred.

  • The actors did a great job, although the set....well that design isn't exactly "original".

  • This is one of my favorite versions of this on youtube! I love the choreography!

*Added to my best of list*

  • Great job! Added to our "Best of High School Musical Theatre" playlist.

Most of our playlist focus is on college performances. The high school playlist is fairly new; suggestions for additional videos are appreciated.

  • Exactly how do I find your BEST OF HS MUSICAL THEATRE playlist?

  • Go to the BestArts channel on YouTube (just click the blue "BestArts" link here), then click the blue "Playlists" link at the top of the page. It's currently the ninth playlist on the list (of about 75).

  • Woot! Fabulous! Best highschool rendition I've seen, and better than some colleges. Yeah, seriously, y'all did a great job with this. I clapped when it was over. Lol.

  • I thought this was fantastic. Cabaret in general is risque for HS.

I have to admit I like the Rauchy version but as I said it's fantastic even if it's PG ;D

  • Oh my god... This is REALLY good!! I mean, high school students, to be so comfortable with eachother for a sceene like this. I think it is a VERY good production! :)

  • This is messed up - Two Ladies is with a guy and a girl - thats the point of the song - this destroys the whole point of the musical. Why are schools still scared of the GAY ISSUE - damn it to hell this production sucks!!!!

  • Don't state emphatically what you don't know! Kander & Ebb wrote this song for a male Emcee & TWO females [typically scripted for Maria & Rosie]. Mendes' revival changed it. This school made Cliff Bradshaw TOTALLY GAY, no holds barred! Are you daffed? - This issue is NOT "the whole point of the musical" There is a-hell-of-a-lot more to the piece. Geezzzz!

You're judging this entire HS's show by viewing a lousy 3 minute clip.

    {Well, that's my rebuttal-rant. Whatcha think?}

  • Really? They even had the scene where Cliff and Bobby kiss?

  • As with the revival... Bobby moves in to kiss, but Cliff turns way. Then at the end of the scene, Bobby says, "This is Berlin. Be yourself," but unlike B'way [Cliff running to Bobby, and they kiss], this school went into a blackout. Thru dialog in the earlier part of the scene, it was made clear that they hopped into the sack together!

  • Wow!

  • You guys did really good for a high school production!

  • i agree, and you guys made a pg rated version work, so a great big CONGRATS!

  • As much as the local HS would love to do this, the musical director (I spoke with) had fears the parents of the girls would spaz (ha-ha).

    Good Show guys!

  • Unlike the B'way revival, at least both the girls in this clip have XX chromosomes!!
