No huge number, but perhaps it is the myth that matters more than reality?. In any event, the falling man image in the opening of MM appears to me to be inspired by the falling man image from 9/11 rather than the Wall Street Crash.

@sensfan98 That looks right. Promotional posters for Vertigo (a 1958 Hitchcock film) look strikingly similar to the Mad Men opening. Obviously, they have the same period ambience. I acept your view that Vertigo is the inspiration for the MM opening.
