  • I agree completely, they have done as usual there nonsense and creationist loopy lies at the start of origin of species which is all it is just lies! BUT the thing is as Richard Dawkins said he was handing them out at a university campus and people at university are smart enough not to fall for that rubbish tear out the first 50 pages or whatever and you have yourself a good book :)

  • Oh yes, that's exactly what we need. One of the greatest scientific tomes ever written shit upon by fifty pages of religious garbage! I bet Comfort and Cameron didn't even read the damn thing, I think they just copied and pasted the book and added their moose turd of an intro to it.

  • Damn good video. By the way, in my opinion, you would make a good Lucifer in a movie. Lol. Not saying you are evil or anything, just saying that you've got that kind of cool look about you that would present a good Lucifer in a movie. Maybe Kirk Cameron will give you some work in an upcoming Left Behind 23 movie or something. Heh Heh. Anyway, I'm gonna check out your channel and some more of your videos, as you seem pretty cool. Peace.

  • dude, if you do not believe in god, then what do you care?? really what do you care? U only have one life to live once your dead and its all over right? why r u wasting ur time with this? when you can be having "FUN" and all other kinds of stuff. even stuff that is so called "SIN" but that word has no meaning to u. Why r u wasting ur life with this if u dont believe in god?

  • @barbarianerik Because I still believe in truth and freedom, and Christianity - along with other religions - has often twisted, distorted, and defiled those for its own selfish gain. If it didn't really affect me, I probably wouldn't care, but you're commenting on a video wherein I discuss a PERFECT example of why Christianity is dangerous. Ray Comfort is a propagandist spreading FALSE information and censoring the truth. It doesn't take a belief in an imaginary friend to care about truth.

  • Its not a regular copy a few of the chapters are removed.

  • Evolution has far too many flawed, unaccountable problems built into it. Fossil records do bare evidence of a global flood----life suddenly trapped & pressed by layers of strata compounded by extreme water pressures. If the animals merely died, their body gases would have them float up to the surface while other living creatures would have eaten them to pieces. They wouldn't have stayed "intact on the bottom" as evolutionists suggest. Nice guitars---carefully designed...or evolved?

  • @TPhil777 Their "body gases"? Do you even understand the process of fossilization, or do you think a carcass just lays there in tact and gets buried? The fact that you bring up the different layers of strata undermines your entire claim. If a global flood had occurred, we should find a layer full of all organisms, with little to nothing before it. We don't find this though. We've never found marsupials in Alaska or polar bears in Australia. I suggest you do some more serious research.

  • (cont'd) Guitars are man-made objects, by definition, and biological organisms are not. Clearly you haven't thought through this stuff.

  • Obviously, your hostility tells me a lot about you. The world hates its Creator and would gladly try to crucify Him again if He were to allow it. Funny, but Evolutionists just can't seem to explain the existence of "Evil", nor can they explain the miraculous preservation of the Jewish race. And oh yes, Evolutionists go "nuts" over the inevitable law of physics that deals with Entropy. Even Einstein agreed here with the concept of a Creator God to explain the creation of Universal Laws.

  • @TPhil777 Yep, I am hostile to lies. And now that your global flood lunacy has been addressed, you change the subject. Bravo. Evolution need not explain evil, because (listen closely) evolution is an explanation for the diversity of biological life, NOT the origins or content of morality. The miraculous preservation of the Jewish race? Don't make me laugh. The Egyptian race still exists too, is that miraculous?

  • (cont'd) Your comment about "the inevitable law of physics that deals with Entropy" shows you don't actually understand what the second law of thermodynamics is. It's not a predictor of disorder, and it applies in a closed system, which Earth is not (look out your window at that big ball of flame in the sky). Einstein called nature his god, and it had nothing to do with "universal laws". A creator god is not incompatible with evolution, btw. All these statements about such are irrelevant.

  • Guess who is actually to Heavan.

  • Well, it can't be Jesus, cuz we all know he's roasting in Hell... I dunno, who?

  • I LOVE seeing Kirk Cameron & Ray CumFart get their ASSES handed to them!! lol ;-)

  • Wow, you sound just like Seth Green doing Chris from Family Guy.

  • lol i thought the same thing

  • Where can I see the fossils? Darwin was a racist, read the original copy. I can send you a photo copy of my copy. LOL

  • Calling black people less evolved shows utter ignorance of evolution. Evolution is not a ladder or hierarchy. It is like a tree with many branches. Even if black people are less intelligent as a whole, this doesn't mean shit. What about the fact that they have the ability to run faster and jump higher (generally speaking). In that way they are more evolved. It is about animals adapting to THEIR environment.

All animals alive today are survivors, and are here because they adapted best.

  • Lol.

  • @guitarplyr2255.

Lets talk about specific quotes from 'Origin' and then lets compare them to the absolutely RAMPANT racism and sexism in the bible... Or most other "holy" texts I can thing of...

  • Actually that's just a lie spread by creationists. But even if he was, prejudices don't automatically invalidate all other unrelated ideas a person has. I'm willing to bet you Newton thought lowly of women and other races - should we throw out his theories then?

The funny thing to me is that the bible is irrefutably racist and sexist and supposedly comes from God, whereas Darwin was a man and nothing more.

  • You didn't have to say you're a Christian when you've got "Family Sings a Gospel Song" as your top favorite on your channel. However, if you read my comment again, you'll see that I never accused you of being either a Christian or a creationist. The irony to me is that you suggest I don't attack people at first glance if I want to convince them of something, while you post a comment accusing Darwin of racism and sexism and provide absolutely no evidence for it. Did YOU come "armed with facts"?

  • Lol. Just because my family sings a gospel song doesn't mean I'm a Christian. It's not even my top favorite. Just a experimental mobile upload.

I didn't attack Darwin. I said he was racist, because he said black people were different and even a sub-species. I agree with him that there are huge differences in races. I did not attack him.

I shouldn't have to quote the fundamentals of Addition when we are discussing Calculus.

  • Fair enough on the song, but if you're not a Christian, why not come out and say it? If you are a Christian though, shouldn't you be ashamed that you haven't just blurted it out by now? Lol.

We're all asking you to show us where he said black people are different and a subspecies, and you ignorantly say you need not quote addition fundamentals when discussing Calculus. This is not a fundamental of Darwin's life or theory. You're holding back because you've been busted making assumptions.

  • Also, if you think Darwin's reference to "favored races" is racism, that's a common misconception. If you actually sourced these allegations of yours, we could get down to the truth of the matter, or you could prove us all wrong and shut us up immediately. Still you hesitate. Could it be that you're bought into that propaganda I talked about earlier, and now that you're being pressed for evidence of your accusations, you're sinking away because you don't have it?

  • Shows what you know.

By our modern standard, all white men in the 19th century should be considered racists and sexists. But if you accually read anything Dawin had to say of these topics, he several times expressed how he liked spending time with different tribes, and that he showed them great respect. He also treated his whife as an equal, and for her sake waited twenty years before he published Origin of Species.

  • Please provide evidence for your claims about Dawin. I don't have to go further that the Wikipedia entry, though I can list lots of books by real historians if you want.

But even IF you are right and Darwin even was the most evil man in history, it would still not affect the Theory of Evolution the slightest. A scientific theory stands on its ability to explain the relevant facts, produce confirmable predictions, and by constant being tested and reevaluated by scientists.

  • Do you happen to have page references for the "racism" and "sexism" in Origin of Species?

  • Once again. Show your references. Quote if you want. And please note that Darwin used the word "race" as a synonym for "species", and as the word is usually interpreted today, and that he never mention the evolution of humans in On the Origin of Species.

And once again, you have to put things in perspective. The most tolerant man from his time could still be considered both racist and sexist by todays standards.

  • Now I will provide some first hand references. "The Autobiography of Charles Darwin 18091882", p.47-51: Darwin describes how intelligent his close friend, the former black slave, John Edmonstone is. p.74: He nearly lost his position on the Beagle when he criticized FitzRoy's defence and praise of slavery.

"Journal of researches" (1845): Darwin condemns harshly his fellow Christians for the massacre of a South-American tribe.

  • Yes. You are correct. Darwin did not hate black people. Evolution would not be flawed even if he did.

He did imply that black people were less evolved. That they had lesser "mental facilities." By the act of assuming black people are different based on their race is racism.

Quit arguing with me about random things. Don't tell me to show you references, so that my comments will sound invalid. You need no quotes. You just need to fundamentally understand evolution.

  • Fundamentally understand evolution? Do you?? Lol, it sure doesn't seem like it. Evolution in NO WAY considers blacks to be somehow "less evolved". Different races exist only as an adaptation to climate in certain regions of the globe. If you're using that basis to cry racism, that's a judgment call on YOUR part, not on Darwin's part or in the understanding of evolution. But you seem comfortable to just make assertions without regard for evidence anyway. Don't waste our time any longer.

  • @guitarplyr

i did read Origin of Species front to back and saw none of the ideas to which you're referring. did you read it?

  • @guitarplyr2255

If it were possible to obtain a photo of the most recent common ancestor of black people and white people, the most recent common ancestor would appear black. Black people HAVE evolved less in some aspects. Women, on average, are not as strong as men. Female comediennes, on average, are not as funny as male comedians.

Your stupid-ass mouth just got SLAPPED. You can sit the fuck down and shut your Goddamned MOUTH.

  • What the hell? I never said whether black people evolved more or less. I simply said that Charles Darwin said they were less evolved and that constitutes racism for many. I'm no race baiter but when you judge a whole people based on race, that is racism.

Your stupid-ass fingers just got CHOPPED. You can quit TYPING and climb back into your pool of primeval soup and evolve a little more.

  • When you call a historical person person something and attribute the person with some quality or flaw, it is always relative to the time and culture the person lived in.

For example: Alexander the Great had one of the best educations possible at the time ( he had Aristotle as his teacher). But compared to modern standard, it does not even come close to the basics.

So, do we call Alexander uneducated, or very well educated? The answer is of course that we should consider him well educated.

  • thanks for the t-shirt link! ive ordered 10 of them!!!!

  • Wow, thanks.

  • How old are you?

  • I'm 24, but what does this have to do with anything?

  • Nothing, But you look more 30 than 24.

  • I've been told that before, but I think it's the beard, lol. If I shave it off, most people seem to think I look no older than 24, possibly younger.

  • lol! I'm only 22 but I grow a better beard than most people in their 30's lol.

  • I really don't think you know English. And you're 34? Wow...

  • If they only added a prologue and did not actually censor anything that Darwin wrote then, ideally, you just tear off the first fifty pages of Comfort's bullshit and you got yourself a perfectly good copy of Origin of Species.

On second thought you might want to keeo the pages and read them whenever you need a good laugh.

  • Fundamentalist christians see no harm in lying if it suits their purpose. They are just like the muslims in that respect. They believe they are "saved" so lying and other sins are not a problem, they can behave any way they want and believe that God said it was allright. It is you and I who try to maintain some intellectual honesty and rationality that are at the disadvantage in a world of religious crazies.

  • "Poisoning bibles, maybe by inserting real science into them or something."

    ROFLMAL!

  • And you think of fuddies as being the straightest people, these two are the worst.

  • Is there a pre-modern day Richard Dawkins or something? Did I even bring him up in the video?

The law is not love, my delusional friend. If you really think it's love to kill people for using God's name in vain, for not observing the Sabbath, or for simply being homosexual or an adulterer, then you need your head checked. Selfrighteous arrogant pride is more likely to be found in holier-than-thou pricks like yourself.

  • Actually it seems Ray Comfort didn't write the intro all by himself. There's evidence that he plagiarized major portions of it. Google 'Ray Comfort plagiarized' for more info.

  • You missed one thing, Taylor. There are two missing chapters from "Origin On a Species" from the Kirk/Comfort version. Even if you tear out the intro, it's still not a complete copy.

  • Actually chapters 9, 11, 12, 13 and 14 are missing from the original.

5 frigging chapters man. How low can they go? Apparently not low enough!

  • Never thought of that, great point about the Bible and if someone released copies of it with a foreword written by an atheist.

  • Good job, TaylorX04.

  • Kirk: "I believe that Darwin was absolutely ... that the end game was to make God ... was to remove God from the world view of .. I think that that was the end game."

can a species really evolve to be so dumb? maybe he was intelligently designed to a retard?

  • Kirk is at the bottom of the bell curve apparently.

  • this guy is a real idiot

  • I agree, Ray is a real idiot.

  • Men like Comfort and his puppet Kirk Cameron are vile evil people.

  • why do you say that

  • Do your research!

  • To alter a science book, a book of knowledge, one of the most important books ever written, removing chapters and adding a 50 page introduction to sway people into believing religious BULLshit, that IS evil.

  • Tearing the 50 pages out wont help to much. The new creationist origin has half of the chapters missing. The probably did that to make darwin look like he was just writing blind speculation. Creationists or as I call them, Cretinists, are the biggest ass holes the world could ever know.

  • THEY DID TAMPER with the original. They intentionally deleted over 4 chapters of Darwins original text demonstrating evidence of evolution.

Essentially, the Comfort version of Origin of the Species is WORTHLESS.

  • Sub to wayof the master to stay pissed off.lol

  • I too am irritated by their action but I don't think this will poison Origin of Species at all. Nobody who accepts the fact & theory of evolution will be swayed Comforts silly intro. And, few creationists will bother to read anything but Comfort's intro. Darwin is quite safe from the Way of the Master Fool.

  • religion is for the weak minded

  • I wouldn't say that. Don't forget the lazy. Many people get into religion because they can get money without having to do anything original in their entire life. And if they do it loud enough they get private jets cocaine and sheboy hookers.

  • OMFG! You made my shirt!!!

Ken Miller would be proud :-)

  • The more christians are forced to think about it, drawn out of their lazy chairs the more wil examin facts to counter in debate's the more wil loose faith. And hearing his dumb as interviews about woman not having the right to vote and stuff the faster the world is rid of this farce.

I say let the idiots rant.

    Debunk the rest.

  • Banana Man and Captain Kirk will once again parody themselves.

  • great vid... thx for posting this

  • No hate here, just disdain. Comfort and Cameron are intentionally misleading with their release of "Origin of Species". If that's not worthy of disdain, I don't know what is. Isn't there stuff in the bible about not being deceitful? Would Jesus really do something like this?

Don't be so quick to judge me (that's in your book too, fyi). ;-)

  • why does confusion mean hes filled with hate, u don't have the answer to his questions, so u suggest arbitrary belief, is that all Christianity has become

  • "I hope you seek God! You seem filled with hate"

I hope you seek reason! You seem filled with stupid!

  • How are you deriving this probability? Do you know how long it took life to evolve?

Btw, I have to laugh about how you just rushed to attack evolution after I stated that it has nothing to do with my disbelief and doesn't really even conflict with Christianity.

  • Natural selection is not accident.

  • Watch the first part of the The Zeitgeist, you Christians it's really mind-opening.

Can your only counter-argument be, "The Devil did it" Lol!

Also watch Kymatica, another very interesting documentary.

  • Ya know what pisses me off?

Folks like Comfort and Cameron try to claim teaching both sides, Evolution and Creationism, to kids is fair because it allows them to decide for themselves!

But the problem is this! You teach them all everything about Evolution, then someone tells them "Right, now forget everything you've been taught, because they are all sinful lies and you're being turned into Nazis! God did it, that's all you need to know, don't question it!"

That is not fair and balanced!

  • Actually, the Bible tells people to QUESTION and THINK.

I can provide versus is you wish.

  • Sure it does. Question all religions but your own and think only about the truth of your religion. At least that's what millions of believers take it to mean.

  • I find it troubling that people feel they can denounce and criticise the informantion being distributed when they have self admittedly NOT READ IT!!!!

    Decide for yourselves!

The only reason to take and destroy these books being distributed is if you are so afraid that your view is wrong that you don't feel comfortable letting the other side be heard.

  • I find it troubling that you fail to realize that creationist arguments have been virtually the same crap for 10-20 years now. And actually, some of us HAVE read the forward. ZOMGitsCriss' video that I referenced has a link to the entire forward.

Maybe we would take and destroy the lousy, unscientific forward, but the rest of the book is what matters. It's not about being afraid. It's about having heard Comfort for years and knowing he's full of shit.

  • Satan has been trying to DESTROY and cover the TRUTH up sense he was cast down to earth.

It's just sad he has so many people fooled and they are headed for a painful eternity.

It hurts me deeply to see people so confused and lost as I was once.

  • For the record, evolution has nothing to do with my atheism. It saddens me to see so many Christians act like evolution is an atheistic theory and accepting it damns them to hell. There's really no excuse to be that ignorant.

People like Ray and Kirk are the only ones here trying to cover up anything. They're just fighting against something that really isn't detrimental to their faith.

  • I can imagine someone not knowing about the transitional fossils, or understanding how evolution works. I can even understand people comparing everything they don't like to Hitler (every single president's opposing party). But holy shit, these guys are STILL SAYING THAT EINSTEIN BELIEVED IN GOD?!

  • Although never coming to belief in a personal God, he recognized the impossibility of a non-created universe. The Encyclopedia Britannica says of him: "Firmly denying atheism, Einstein expressed a belief in "Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the harmony of what exists."

  • This actually motivated his interest in science, as he once remarked to a young physicist: "I want to know how God created this world, I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts, the rest are details."

  • Einstein's famous epithet on the "uncertainty principle" was "God does not play dice" - and to him this was a real statement about a God in whom he believed. A famous saying of his was "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."

  • Shut up you whackjob.

  • It seems to me that the idea of a personal God is an anthropological concept which I cannot take seriously. I also cannot imagine some will or goal outside the human sphere.... Science has been charged with undermining morality, but the charge is unjust. A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties and needs; no religious basis is necessary.

    - Albert Einstein, "Religion and Science,"

  • This is a false dichotomy. The third option is "we don't know yet". Maybe neither is true. Stranger things have been observed at the quantum level. It just amuses me that Christians think an eternal god who created matter is a better explanation than believing matter has always existed. Newsflash: both offer nothing to the table for evidence, therefore they're both sheer speculation.

  • True, but either way you have to believe "SOMETHING" has always existed. God, Matter, Dust, etc.

I choose to have "FAITH" in a GOD who created with great design and purpose.

You may choose what you want to believe.

Personally I think it takes more FAITH to believe everything exists from NOTHING with no purpose than my belief.

  • When I said it's a false dichotomy, I meant that there are more options. You don't have to believe one or the other. I reject the notion of a god for reasons completely unrelated to the existence of matter. I see no evidence of one, and saying that you can't imagine how matter could always exist, thus god exists, is an argument from ignorance.

I choose to say that I don't know about our origins, because it's the truth. Matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed, only switch states.

  • (cont'd)

So maybe matter is technically eternal. But even if it's not, that does not in any way mean a god created it. You choose to go beyond saying, "I don't know" and fill in the gaps of your understanding with a being that can supposedly do anything. Call it faith if you want, I call it intellectual laziness.

  • Why do christians think that's some kind of achilles heal to atheism? YOU believe that everything came from nothing too. What did god MAKE EXISTENCE OUT OF? It's almost like EVERYTHING CAME FROM NOTHING with your beliefs only now nothing loves you and must be cherished. You're just as confused as the rest of us (can an omnipresent being change his mind?) it's just that the non-religious admit what we don't know, but hope to eventually find out. Your position unquestionably requires more faith.

  • Actually, there are some "Christians" who believe God used Evolution to create everything.

I think most Christians feel if you think if you believe the world just Evolved you must be an atheist. But some people believe in GOD and Evolution.

Most Christians take Genesis 1:1 literally to mean GOD CREATED the Heavens and the Earth in 6 days.

  • Yes, I'm well aware of these Christians, they're called theistic evolutionists. Believing the world has evolved is not atheistic thinking anymore than it is theistic thinking. Evolution is just a theory about the diversity of life, not the ultimate origins of it.

Most Christians who take Genesis 1:1 literally also believe - despite all evidence of geology, archaeology, biology, and the likes - that the earth is a measly 6,000 years old. There are TREES on Earth that are older than that.

  • Why put the word christians in quotation there? Those who believe in evolution (Ken Miller comes to mind) have no problem believing in the death and resurrection of christ.

  • Sorry but you are so wrong. For one thing I notice you mention only one name and secondly, every evolutionary biologist I know, every one not some not a few, but every one I know has a huge problem with jesus' existence especially as the son of a god. Everyone I know is pretty much an atheist. One invariably will be an atheist if one has a degree in any of the sciences. There's just absolutely no way to wed scientific principle as the crux of your life and belief in a magical creator.

  • I've also seen those charts that show a decline in religiosity as one becomes more educated (I'm an atheist btw). That's why I only know the name Ken Miller when it comes to biologists.

  • and not only that but doesn't one scripture say that a day to us is like a thousand years to God, the story of Jesus is the story of human transcednce from its evolutionary origins, Christianity is more like a tree that develops new branches rather than a box that never changes, what about Copernicus who the church wanted to burn at the stake for saying that the sun was the center of the solar system, Christianity is more powerful than ever, I agree with u, those who don't deny God

  • the reason most Christians have more repect for agnostics rather than athiests, is because u believe that life does not matter, has no point, no endpoint, nothing, everything happens because of blah, I mean its such an easy position, and yet its reach is as limited as fuedal Christianity, the reason people get so mad is because they percieve these people as lazy, its just a poor framework for what people really feel and what they want to feel, no work required

  • @Aptopdog352:

Not blindly believing rash assertions made by a 2000 year old re-written, translated book is not "being lazy". Asserting that you know that the universe was created is being lazy.

There's no work required in saying "God did it". You're being a hypocrite.

Furthermore, you may not admit it, but there isn't anything that proves that we have some sort of higher meaning. Our egos/survival instincts are what power us. We are, after all, animals.

  • With such a finite human understanding of physics and time mechanics, I don't see how you can seriously conclude there are only two options, and it becomes silly if one of the options must be a sentient being who occupies no space, contains no matter and is not affected by the passing of time; ie by any interpretation, cannot be said to exist.

  • Believing in a god who has no bearing over one's life is a worthless and discouraging belief, and the way Cameron and Comfort are quote mining Einstein is disingenuous.

"The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this."

Letter to philosopher Eric Gutkind, January 3, 1954

  • Like you.

Really sharp picture. You don't have to but what camera and what kind of lighting. Subbed a few weeks ago.

  • "Maybe by inserting real science into them..." LOL!!

I think you're right that no serious protest is necessary - this project is crazy enough to speak for itself. Still, after I watched Cam's video I needed to watch Louis Black on evolution until my head stopped spinning.

  • I'm ordering one of those shirts - far to cool. Of course I'm in the heart of the Bible Belt so I'll probably get lynched.

  • Lol, thanks. I live in Texas and I've survived so far. No one's actually said a word. But maybe they're just plotting my demise silently.

  • haha whoa i'm in texas too, near dallas. glad i'm not the only atheist here.

  • All I can say is, it's almost October ;-)

  • People, don't hate on the monkeys, which makes me think of that musical:

"Oh my God, I was wrong, it was earth all along, you finally made a monkey, yes we finally made a monkey, yes you fin-ally...made...a monkey...out of meeeeeee

    I love you Dr. Zeus!!!!!"

aah, how good it feels, ha ha

  • Not toilet paper...It will play hell with your plumbing.

OTOH, if you can use the rest room in Ray Comfort's church....

  • "I like your Christ, but I do not like your Christians, your Christians are nothing like your Christ."

    -Gandi

  • Kirk Cameron is an idiot

  • think ill getta couple copies, tear out the first fifty pages, and throw them away right in front of whoevers handing em out.

  • nice poster back ther!

    or what is it?

  • It's a Maxim calendar.

  • A good idea. How do I get one.

  • 50 page crap-toduction.

  • Holy crap guys, look at the first sentence of the introduction by Ray. It's back to the same old tactics. THE EXACT SAME TACTICS

I'l post more about this on the forums in a little bit.

  • Post Made

  • TaylorX04, are you implying that Comfort and Cameron have integrity or honesty?

  • I assure you it was not my implication, lol.

  • Wow, looking forward to Ray's preface for Einstein's general theory of relativity on it's anniversary in 2016. Should be a hoot.

  • why are my "reply" comments not being posted in the right places? The first was my own comment, the 2nd was a reply to RodHull...and my 3rd was to the douche that said "evolution is done." Thanks for letting me clarify.

  • Looking forward to having Kirk & Ray's opinion inside all books...what a couple of egotistical cunts.

  • They have described their version of Origin as 'abridged' but I'm not sure what that actually means nor am I sure which edition they have taken to abridge

(Later editions of Origin had some references to Creators and such like added in deference to some public commentators of the time. I can easily see WOTM exploiting this.

I notice also that their cover page abbreviates the title of the book and makes no reference to the "Forward by Ray Comfort"

    Take Care and RAmen!

  • Ah Ha.

I've just been over to Rays blog.

Apparently he's been taking more than a little flack over this and he's began to notice it.

He is reprinting his book including an unabridged version of Origin and has re-written his introduction.

He's not yet posted the new intro on his website as he did with the old version. I'll try and get a copy so I can compare the two.

How ironic that, faced with the selection pressure of a hostile consumer base, his book has had to evolve.

    :D

    Ven

  • Well, I'm sure there are more than a few Christians who have a problem with what Ray's doing, and they may be pestering him about misleading people with the book.

  • Probably, though, on his blog, he does blame the changes on "advice from Atheists(sic)"

I'd post a link to it but seems you can't do that in Comments anymore.

    raycomfortfood=dot=blogspot=dot=com

You should find it via there.

  • i'd love to know the Ed. i have a 1st Ed with forward by Mayer(sp?) that we could compare against.

  • I ordered 40 books to be given away at a local University. Lucy is not a T-fossil. Evolution is done.

  • Your personal evolution might be done but don't speak for the rest of us.

  • Oh Man! I never thought you were this beautiful !

I have been watching your videos because of the amazing content. But I had never seen your face. BTW I showed some of your videos at my congregation. It was great seeing their faces!

  • Whatever. I'm getting one and keeping it in its original packaging. The shit will be a collector item in no time.

  • at least some people will get a free copy.

  • Lol, You look so different, Your like thunderfoot you look cooler then you acually sound.

  • five stars

  • Don't stear out...

    STAMP!

    "CREATIONIST STUPID" on their pages...

Rubber stamps, very cheap, google them...

  • P.S. You ruined my illusion...! I always saw you as Chris from "Family Guy" talking sense but now I have a real face to work with...

    I hate change ;-)

  • haha...my first comment on one of TaylorXO4"s videos was that he sounded like Chris...guess I'm not the only one...I find it very endearing but you're right...the face is somehow incongruous...

  • The difference is that a forward to the Bible claiming that it endorses slavery, mysogyny, racism, etc. would be accurate. Ray and Kirk's forward is a load of their regular bullshit.

  • I plan on collecting as many of them as possible and giving them to the local homeless to burn to keep warm during the winter. (That is, is Cornell is even one of the "50 top universities" they plan on propagandizing.)

  • LOL Poisend the bible by putting actual Science ROFL!!! Thats a Good one.

  • Quick note about giving credit where credit is due. It was actually a viewer on Junosden who suggested ripping out the pages several days ago around 09/15 or so. His name was notinmyname2050. It was a good idea and he deserves the credit for it.

  • If some kind if skeptically annotated bible were to be passed around university campuses I'd contribute to see that happen.

  • I actually e-mailed them to see if I could get a list of the "top universities" they were planning to do this at. they e-mailed me back telling me they weren't publicizing the list, but I have a sneaking suspicion they will pick a major university in each state. I hope they go to UW-Madison, so I can pick up a copy.

  • How about a chapter entitled "Banana fools creationist nut-job?" I'd like to see that in it.

  • nice callender thats hot!! haha

  • They did cut out chapters, but now they say that due to complaints they are going to print the whole book and rewrite the intro.

  • I think they have tampered with the rest of the book, which, public domain or not... isn't that illegal?

As people have pointed out... them handing them out to university students is the one place this is likely to do the least amount of damage.

  • Yeah, and I am so hoping that one of those atheist professors uses it as an example of the lies creationists will tell.

  • Wolfau5: It's not illegal if they're giving the book away. It would be if they were charging for it--it would be fraud because they wouldn't be providing what they claimed to be selling.

One can give away any collection of non-copyrighted words one wishes.

  • I have heard that it is also been abridged...That is the problem

  • I don't have a problem with Ray Comfort having freedom of speech and expression.....

.....but MOST people shouldn't really BOTHER reading Darwin today--the book is 150 years old! Evolution has come a LONG WAY since then. I'd advise anyone who wants to learn about evolution today to look at more modern sources....

So the PROBLEM is that while Ray may argue with THE BOOK, he's arguing with 150 year old information. Kinda like an OLD straw man...

  • Well, you're absolutely right, but part of the problem is that so many people (especially in the US) have no clue of the contributions to evolution that came after Darwin. That's why morons call it Darwinism, out of their own ignorance. I'm really hoping Richard Dawkins' new book will help dispense with some of these misconceptions, but what Ray and Kirk are doing is dangerous because it certainly isn't going to help these misunderstandings, it's just going to make things worse.

  • I agree; Ray Comfort stands proud (among the proudest) as a purveyor of ignorance.

The only useful weapon against people like him is educating children adequately in critical thinking--material that gets very little attention in schools even now.

  • For fun I decided to go looking for a skeptic-annotated copy of the bible. I found something interesting. It's called "The Apologetics's Study Bible: Understand Why You Believe". It is a bible that has been supplemented with articles by apologetics. This grates on me. Shouldn't you have a basic understanding of something before you are able to proclaim it to be true? You don't decide something is true and *then* find your arguments for it. Ugh.

  • It's another example of their childish & dishonest tactics. They will obviously use any means possible to try and get their creationist agenda out there. However they fail to realise that it's utterly apparent to all how laughable this whole thing is.

  • That video makes me sick. I cannot believe that these people are inve
