I have seen Uprising since I last posted. It was pretty well done for a low budget made-for-TV movie. It's not based on the Uris novel, Mila 18, but it's the same story. About the fake Tiger...not even the high budget movies have a real Tiger. This tank could be the same Czech made mock-up used in Kelly's Heroes. The soldiers are Russian actors who probably took a week-long course in marching or else they're real soldiers paid scale. Boy, that Erika is a real toe-tapper.

From what he's told me...he was very reasonable with his workers. He would even give some of them a few drinks of his coffee when the snow got really bad.
He also used more sense. If a worker was unruly, he would just assign them extra duties. Most SS guards would just shoot them...which is why the army has a horrid reputation.

I have seen Uprising since I last posted. It was pretty well done for a low budget made-for-TV movie. It's not based on the Uris novel, Mila 18, but it's the same story. About the fake Tiger...not even the high budget movies have a real Tiger. This tank could be the same Czech made mock-up used in Kelly's Heroes. The soldiers are Russian actors who probably took a week-long course in marching or else they're real soldiers paid scale. Boy, that Erika is a real toe-tapper.

if you've ever seen the movie you'd know it was based on a true story. sure, they may have just been farmers and ordinary citizens, but they stood up to full ranks of the SS during the war and even beat them back a couple of times.

The jewish people did indeed put up a stiff resistance but not even a power drunk general would or could march men into a situation like that. Years of heavy fighting and common sense says recon the area first. But for street fighting tactics its not a bad film actualy its very good. I dont know about the woman on the chimney though with the petrol bomb. Also the tactic of pretending to surrender and then shooting the enemy would promote panic, so pointless a method.

From what he's told me...he was very reasonable with his workers. He would even give some of them a few drinks of his coffee when the snow got really bad.
He also used more sense. If a worker was unruly, he would just assign them extra duties. Most SS guards would just shoot them...which is why the army has a horrid reputation.
