  • I AHEV HAD MINE FOR ALMOST 6 FREAKING MONTHS AND I HAVE REDNESS UNDER MY EYE

Question: How do I get rid of the redness UNDER my eye

  • @SuperNickBowser I think after a week or so, you should of went to the doctors.

  • @CALIBOi1997 Said it's nothing to woory about

  • @SuperNickBowser Good.

  • @CALIBOi1997 Ok good

  • my stye appeared last friday and i tried many remedies like the tea bag thing and applying hot compresses. it is now currently wednsday and my lower eyelid is swelled up like hell and my upper eyelid is starting to swell up to! imagine a big eyebag filled with pus and is very red! my eyes are also red because of irritation and im tearing all day long! went to the dr yesterday and she gave me antibiotic capsules and adviced me to continue appying hot compresses. but i think the hot compress is t

  • I have a stye at the moment and I have had it since Christmas (i still have it) but i had 2 styes. one closer to my eyeball and the other closer to my tear duct, it didnt reach it though. i tried heat, didnt work and ended up going to the doctors. I have been given antebiotic tablets and antibiotic ointment for it but it still isnt going away and its been there for a really long time.

  • It went away within three days. Going through this, I learned that getting rid of a stye requires constant application of the hot compress; don’t just apply the hot compress once or twice a day and expect the stye to go away, follow through with the application of the hot compress. I decided to share my experience since it might help some of you with multiple styes decide to visit your doctor or not. In my case, visiting a physician proved more than worthwhile! Stay stye free! Good luck!

  • Even though I tried the hot compress for this one, it wouldn’t go away, so I decided to visit my doctor. She said she wouldn’t give me anything for it; I simply had to keep doing what I had done with the previous styes. I did, but the stye was increasing in size, so I decided to go see another doctor. I was immediately given antibiotics to treat it.

  • I had my first stye about two months ago. Fortunately, I was able to get rid of it in about a week and a half with the hot compress technique outlined here. Soon after, however, I got another stye, but I still refrained from going to see the doctor, simply because I thought this stye was no different than the one before. I did the hot compress for about a week again; the stye disappeared. Unfortunately, I got a third stye about three weeks ago.

  • My eye thanks you :)

  • Well crap, i'm pretty sure a eyelash got in my eye.

  • Thank you po. Maraming salamat.

  • Thank u so much!!!!

  • ugh I hope this works my daughter is 2 and has a stye and I'm scared the doctors will try to drain it surgically :(

  • I had a stye before and it got bigger and bigger so i used my own hands i popped it. i thought it would completely go away but after poopping it i still have a mark on my eyes. i feel so insecure about my looks. Can somebody please help me what should i do to get rid of the mark in my eyes. i would rally appreciate it.

  • @ajaytulachan1 you should exfoliate the skin with some sort of gentle material, you could also try some sort of peel that would be safe to use by the eye, or some sort of skin lightener that's safe to use by the eye. I really don't know what to say but I feel your pain I have a scar that makes me self conscious but before doing any of those you should really try to consult a dermatologist they could really help good luck!

  • i have had this sty for like 3 weeks and i just started using eye liner about the time the sty appeared (( i am 13 )) so i stopped using it and its getting bigger so i hope this helps!

  • thank you . you really help my eye :)

  • Thank you for the very helpful tip! Keep up the good work!

  • I had one and I popped it, now I have two and they're already taking 3 times as long to heal and I look like a fucking monster I hate these things!

  • @thegr8pulido your not alone :(

  • I had one and within 3 days it was so bad my eye was swollen shut and almost the whole side of my face was swollen too it hurt to touch or even sleep. on 5th day after 2 days of antibiotics and warm compress they had to cut it open to drain it. My eye will be forever be deformed now and have to have reconstructive surgery. Please everyone keep your ducks clean! Don't let this happen to you!

  • No No No! Use A tea Bag! Hahaa ...

    Ehts Comes Off Right Away!

    Well Not Right Away ...

But Like In A Day ...

Just Get A Hot Tea Bag

Place iT On Your Eye for a few minutes

Then Do iT A Few More Times Then Wala No More Stye!:)

  • i use "ofloxacin" which usually dries it up ,but the last one i had -did have to resort to the dreaded hot compress ,it works

  • Chery youre not the only one some of the styes that I've had last for months but they suck. The first time I got one was about 10 years ago, im 24 and I was a teen back then and would get upset because they are ugly. I guess we just have to learn to live with em.

  • In a way its goid to hear that im not the only one who gets them all the time. Right now I have one in each eye. They hurt really bad but what helps me is baby shampoo and the wet hot cloth. It stops it from getting any bigger.

  • My sty is inside my upper eyelid >.<

  • I just wait till I see it turns a bit yellow, pluck the eyelash where its at and squeeze till I remove the infected blood.

  • my lil brother has a stye too its disgusting ewwww

  • I have a huge bump on the middle if my eyelid and I don't know if it's a sty because it doesn't hurt or anything it just feels puffy and my mom said it might be a mosquito bite cuz there was a ton around us but it doesn't itch or anything so idk I'm scared

  • try putting hydrocortizone 1% cream on it. It goes away in about 5 days.

  • I have tried everything 3 different doctors and was even given eye drops and I still have them. I have had them for about 6 months. They are horrible and painful and UGLY. I can't even wear makeup. I tried the compress and it did nothing. I am convinced they are never going away. I don't even know what caused them in the first place. :-/

  • @Cherylyiyi you might have to get it lanced, try a hot tea bag if you havent that made mine come to a head & i get them all the time >:O & also change your makeup because that can cause an infection and you want to make sure it is clean so it will reduce the chance of getting infected again.

  • Ive gotten styes once a year for the last three years, i usually used a hot compress 2-5 times a day but it takes 2-4 months for mine to go away. is this normal?

  • @scarface7117 i have them all the time as well with them lasting ages.. some people say its from picking your nose and the bacteria there but i dont even touch my nose and get them.. im really looking for someone to tell me why i get them and whats the cause? rather than remedys to get rid of them

  • @HeidiPie88 styes, from what i have found out, when on the outside (lashline area), is caused from things like an infected eyelash folicle, or just build up of bacteria. all they really are are little bacterial infections. i get them seldomly inside of my eyelid, so if you get them there or on the outside, its probably just infection in a little eye pore or hair folicle. being a girl, ive found out using mascara alot causes me to get them (probably because of bacteria buildup on the brush).

  • bad eye. bad stye! D:

  • this is the fourth time im having this T_________T

the first two times i got surgery

the third itme it went away with medicine

and the fourth time is above my eyeball?!

  • I keep putting the cloth in the microwave. Works.

  • THANK YOU!

  • it hurtsss:( but the warm compress actually works:P

  • How long would the process take?

  • thank you very much

  • i have school 2morrow i need 2 get rid of it now

  • You a lifesaver!! Thanks doc!

  • @ danijel303 really pls dnt recommend if it's gona cause u a fees...I might as well go c my dr...pay $15 copayment and few bucks for my anti...no offense...

  • it`s my first time to have an stye! snce yesterday my eye has a little stye on it i didn`t know that it was a stye i just thught it was bitten by a mosquito but i was wrong >< today i went to a doctor and he said that it was a stye i`m freaking out !! coz` he said tto me that he may cut my stye in eye

  • @yuto18hearts that hurts like a BITCH! I had to have it done when i was like 12..NOT FUN -_- Hope things are well for yu!

  • So do you just put it over your eye when it's closed? Lol. this is my first time having a stye. and if so, will the pus get in your eyeball?

  • @CindyOmgx3

    5/10 nt though

  • THANKS SO MUCH LADY(: .. THIS HELPED KINDA !

  • Ive Had My Stye For Over A Year IveBeen To The Hospital But I Never Keep Treating It Is It Too Late Or Should I Go Back To The Doctors ?

  • the compress did absolutly nothing for me, i had to have mine surgically removed after my eyelid started to tear.

  • what really helps is eye drop and warm cloth

  • eww so when it comes to a head the puss comes out and then it gets all over your eye?? 'o' ewww!

  • i have a stye too .. and its the most embarrassing thing possible! i hate it, but there's surgery that takes about 15 minutes and then its gone... its a tiny bit painful but then its gone! :) i would also like to know how to prevent one..

  • Man, I always get those!! I hate then, I am 37 and I been getting this since I was a little boy.

    this is so embarrassing.

  • Thank you!

  • how do i avoid a blocked duct

  • put some ice on it. ive been doing that and it really helps. applying heat makes it worse most of the time.

  • what if the eye stye is inside the eye

  • i have a stye inside my eyelid will this help too?

  • I can confirm that this method works really well. It healed two of my styes. Thanks so much for this vid.

  • @darkshadow12345P

will it hurt whenthe stye pops?

  • @xiMaFiiAz if you mean pop as in the using the needle, then it might. If you meant pop as in using a hot tea bag to get the pus out eventually, then no. Both needle+alchohol and hot tea bags seems to work tho XD

  • my stye is white not red and its not really hurting me or stinging its just sitting on my eye and its annoying me soooo much and people keep trying to touch it and that doesnt help :-(

  • i hav a stye from last month...its not paining but its luking weird...i contacted a doctor n he gave sum anti-biotics tablet n a ointment...but still its not decreasing...nor its increasing....wat shud i do??

  • i have a stye right now im using a hot teabag and it is working great

  • @RoCheesey its possible that you dident hav a sty but a chalazion

  • @xiMaFiiAz what is a chalazion ?

  • @RoCheesey a chazalion unlike a stye is not caused by a blocked hair folical or bacteria infection, and generally these will not dissapear over time or come to a head, its much like a small hard lump that will remain there until it is surgically removed, like a small hard cyst.

  • I've been doing that for the past 2 months on my stye but it has gotten worst! It's swelling over my eye, it's getting purple, crusting, and it looks disgusting! Should I go to a doctor for this?

  • @sankyuujanice go noww!...ive seen videos & people be saying it lasts a year or so. go to the doctor & they will take care of that monster..ugh i hate styes.

  • hurts v.v

  • i have had a bump on my eye for i dont kow how long, but i dont want to use medichal attention, i have used hot/warm compressed water but it only made it smaller, but never fully got rid of it. if it is still ther for one month i will seek medichal attention, but befor i do, does any one have sugestions?

  • I had Stye like 2 months ago then after treating it it seemed to disappear but few days ago it came back! and i don't know what to do i don't wanna die I'm just not ready yet!!

I think it came back because i forgot to replace my contact lenses after the Stye seemed to disappear in the first time , so they might have been infected ever since

  • i rubbed a copper coin on it and it went away no joke

  • Nobody has information on how to clean it when it does bust!!!! Why??

  • @KOBEinLA4 pop the yellow pus coming out, clean it with rubbing alcohol, with a small dabber and then apply a little bit of neosporn

  • thanks that really helped =D

  • can you die if it gets bigger than 1 cm and all the bacteria will go to ur head

  • i love u bevs!!!

  • Thanks, ill try that on this small lil stye

  • quick questin: is it common for the eye to get really bloodshot? that's how mine is right now. i think it joined the dark side. shame, lol. well if anyone could plz answer, i thank them.

  • I'm not an expert, but from my previous experiences with styes, I can tell you that bloodshot eyes come with styes because the bump is irritating the eye as if you were to poke it throughout the day.

  • @sonicvail well i don't think mine was a stye, but it 1st appered to be one. i think it was some other eyelid infection. luckily a much less serioes one(thank you God =]) it just made eye red but now it's pretty much gone. it probably should be gone by now but i have failed to keep a warm compress on it. i'll probably be doing that soon.

  • I have a pretty big one, its been on my lower eyelide (nose side and it seems its internal) for about 4 months now. How the hell is a hot cloth going to get this big sucker out of my eyelid???

  • If a stye lasts for more than 4 days, you need to go to a doctor. The purpose of the warm washcloth is to promote blood flow in the area of the style. With increased blood flow, your body's immune cells are better able to reach the area of infection, in order to combat it. However, if the body has not been able to fight the infection in four days, you need to see a doctor. 4 months?! Sounds like a more serious infection.

  • i look like mike tyson. i went to the doctor for having a sty under the top portion of my eye lid. they fliped my eyelid backward incisioned it open and now i look like i got knocked out. a small ball came out.

  • I have one right now....I feel like Popeye!

  • Boil some water add to a soup bowl, put handful of parsley in the bowl, let it sit for 10 mins, get a clean flannel or cotton wool & bath the eye with the parsley water for 15 mins.

Its a sty for god sake, deal with it & go to school, as long as you dont touch it your ok, its not about how you look, already your conditioned to think you must look in a certain way to be accepted, thats sad unfortunately for someone so young, give yourselves a break & live life.

    Peace

  • I have one right now. Got it because I've been playing w/ my cat and been exposed to too much dust and rubbing it.

    God it hurts! DX

Gonna try the warm compress though. ;3

  • i get sth like stye on my inner eyelid for the 2nd time. The doctor said its due to bacterial infection. Is it possible that a stye is caused by em dirty contact lenses? or eye makeup tat just doesnt suit your eyes?

  • you can get eyedrops that has medicine in it. I use the sty eyedrops and they clear right up! I have never squeezed a sty out in my life.Yay for the over the counter eyedrops

  • Boil an egg. Rap it in a warm wet wash cloth and apply to the eye. Constant heat.

    Once the egg cools...eat it.

  • @FaceInTheRain good idea

  • You can also apply a warm wet tea bag. Once the bag cools, simply reheat in the microwave. Along with the heat, the antioxidants can aid in healing.

  • @FaceInTheRain It funny because I'm allergic to eggs.

  • i read a great site that helped heal that you should touch the styes or itll spread. after the pus comes out, massage the eyelid gently. this will promote the circulation of blood to the eyelid and helps reduce fluid build up in the stye. wash hands frequently, close your eyes and use antibacterial soap, wash the outer eyelids daily. if stye doesnt heal in 10 days, contact a physician for an antibiotic. itll prevent the spread of the bacteria. doctor will prescribe an eye ointment or eye drops

  • also avoid wearing eye makeup or contacts when you get stye, if you did throw them away immediately

  • you SHOULDNT*** touch the styes or itl spread (sry bout that)

  • mine looks like a piple DX

  • Im 12 and i've had it for about 2-3 days. It scares me becaue i dont wat to go to school looking like a wreck. UGHH, i do apply hot water to it alot tho [;

  • @jokesterjenna ,dude same here

  • dude thats happened to me, my stye did that like 3 days ago!! it doesnt hurt at all trust me, you just wake up and it feels like your blind in the eye with the stye, get a wet cloth and wipe it off, then its fine.

  • i had my two styes on inside my upper lip and one outside my lower lip and i had it for more than 10 months! i just wont got away but im putting hot water..and i really dont wanna go get it scrap off by the doctor

  • WHATTT. IM SCARED NOW!

  • i have one =[

  • I got one this morning it makes my eye look like someone punch me in it.... it itch and I feel a headache coming in.

  • I hate this.

My eye feels so itchy but it's painful even touching the area.

  • im 28 years old and have NEVER had a stye and in the past 2 months ive got 3. most recently ive had one on my right bottom lid and it HURTS!!!! anyone know what would cause someone to start getting them out of the blue like this or is it just bad luck???

  • yeah me to i got yesterday it hurt like hell

  • I just got one today, but its on the inside of my eyelid, went to GP and he gave me some anti-biotics to take, but there are several and it scrapes my eye everytime i move or blink- Really painfull :(

  • Comment removed

  • get the eye drops from your doctor! trust me it heals much faster then warm compress. but do both it will help! trust me! :)

  • When I get a stye (I have one right now) the area around my eye is itchy and dry....is that normal?

  • dude i have this big huge 1...its like way 2 big it is bout 2 pop by its self

  • this is my second stye and the last one i had was HUGE! but this one is small, its on the same eye and its nots exerting any pus thankfully...

  • i have one and its been there a month ): idk what else to do to get rid of it!!

  • ya da puss does come out in the night every morning i have to try to open my eyelids i hurts

  • i have one right now

  • yes, ceylon, raspberry, black, and green tea bags will work! it's also inexpensive

  • I have one of these at the moment. It is so annoying!!!

  • @rowan1802 i use to get them after i start eating mackeral fish you get in tins, i think it's because of the mercury not the fish. i have started eating manuka honey and i never get them now. you can use honey mixed in water and then use them in your eyes aswell. honey is antibacterial and is the best thing. rose water is also antibacterial and can use that for your eyes aswell, i hope this helps.

  • you should seek medical help either the doctor or the hospital...either way that's not a normal symptomof a stye...

  • This is the best method I've tried, Only instead of a Hot cloth , My Dad , told me to Use a Tea Bag, and after one Night My Eye was almost completely healed up and the Pain was gone!!!! So heres the miracle cure for a STYE!!

  • meh heh.. tea bag

  • hey how did u use the teabag?soak it in hot water right? did u apply it continuously for 10 mins or did u soak it evry time it went cold?pliz reply!

  • yea put it in the hot water and then squeeze out all of the extra water. then put the tea bag on your eye. then every time it got cold i would put it on a paper towel in the microwave to heat it back up. i know you asked a few weeks ago but i hope this helps! :D

  • i had to get mine drained by a neeedle from my doctor but now my top right eyelid is soooooooo swollen

  • iv had 3 ( one on my left eye and 2 on my right, one of the top, one on the bottom) for the past thee or so months ! wha do i do ! i start college on tuesday an d i dont wanna look like a freak haha

  • you cant see a red bump on mine but its sore on the waterline and a little undrneath in the middle of my eye, it hurts everytime i blink 2. Its a little swollen underneath 2. is it still a stye?

  • ok listen take a green chili pepper hold it over a candle and get it hot (dont burn it) hold it to ur eye. do this 2-3 times a day and it should go away in a week :D BTW i did this and it workd this technique comes from south america

  • dont worry lol, it went away on its own in 2 days :P

  • thats my problem to !! :(

and do u see a lil whit patch over ur eye

    ever so often ?

  • I recommend applying castor oil on your stye after the warm towel. Just dip a Q-Tip in the castor oil and apply to the stye 2 times a day after applying the warm towel. I Also recommend that you pull out any eyelashes that are on your stye. You can buy castor oil from your local pharmacy.

  • If one or more eyelash hairs are growing from the stye, take a tweezers and pull them out.

This will hurt. How much will depend upon the individual's pain threshold. But pulling the hairs from the stye will also facilitate its subsequent draining and healing. I speak from experience:) --

AND the eyelashes will grow back, never fear:) --

  • i start school in two weeks and im really worried about my stye =(

  • bwaha! i start school again in 2 days! (*o*) i hope urs get better!!!!

  • SAME THNG WITH ME!!!

last week(when u posted that) my skoll started in two weeks well now in a few days and its stil in my eye!

  • ughh i got mine today it hurts D: i hope this works :p

  • I'm sorry to tell you... using a cold compress reduces swelling but makes the pus in the gland solidified. with a warm compress, you hope to allow the pus to rise to the surface in liquid form, then drain. good luck. sry.

  • This sucks. I got one and it came to a head and popped, but i couldn't get it all out. now it's sealed and swelling again... some styes look small like a pimple. mine looks bigger than those mine has swollen my whole bottom lid. I'm a teacher teaching right now. it's so embarrassing.

  • ok I just got one..I think. You can't tell it's there but I feel it. It's the 22nd and hot towels here I come!!!!!

  • did it work did this hot towel thing help cause i have a small one to and i want to know if i should do this

  • Hey yes it definitely does work pal...I noticed that I couldnt feel it after 2 days then after 5 the swelling was gone and aDios stye=] mine was ultra small and I was the only one that knew about it

  • is yours gone now? cuz i go back to skool in 5 days..

  • it was gone within that same week...eeek hope yours goes away by then

  • Goes away easily with anti-biotic and warm compresses. Don't wait for it to go away as the bacteria will only cause it to get bigger and swell even more.

  • the optometrist I went to told me to avoid anti-biotics because of a risk of allergy. if you develop the allergy due to use on a minor infection like a stye, you close out a large family of medications for later use. She said it happen to her son. I'll guess you are or have already taken the meds, so I hope this information is helpful to currently afflicted looking for answers.

  • i just got one today n my b-day is 2mrro along with me n my b/f 1 year anniversary.... sucks im gonna be doing this all day untill it goes away

  • i want mine to go away!!! :(

i cant makeup and i look really weird U.U

    it hurts x_x

  • I KNOW!!

  • mee too :C are you alright now? D:

  • im soo upset its just the beggining of summer and i have this stye and im going to a festival the day after tomorrow, does the warm compress thing have to be damp coz ive been using my hot water bottle from when i was a kid....

im really confused coz my eye is really puffy and i can feel the lump where the stye is but its just so swollen it looks like ive been smaked... :S

  • i have three styes now it sucks i dont even think i look pretty anymore because people look at me and now im trying the stye eyedrops and ointment both at the same time and hopefully it goes away oh how do they num it when you get surgery i need to know

  • if i just put really really really hot water on this will it go away faster?(mine is sooo small now). cuz putting a wash cloth on your eye is so boring and i dont get to do anything lol

  • I've had a stye for 9 months :(

I've tried everything and nothing's worked...

I even got surgery and I still have it D:

  • I have had mine for 2 years and about a month ago another former in the opposite eye. Its a pain huh? If they find out whats wrong with yours tell me, i'm worried about mine too.

  • Haha I've also had a stye for 9 months now. And I've also tried everything... one time they drained it and the other they did surgery. And it seems to randomly get worse. It's really annoying.

  • I remember when I was young my mom would put pink blush like eye shadow on the opposite eye when I had a stye, so my eyes would match and maybe it would just look like makeup! LOL

  • I have one right now. I haven't had one since I was maybe 9 years old (I'm 22 now). I've been using a warm compress (cloth soaked in chamomile tea). I know it will go away in a day or two. I've noticed that my eyelashes are sparse where I got these styes, has anyone else had that happen to them?

  • Yes, I have that. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Hope they grow back once I get rid of this damn thing. I've had it for couple of months now.

  • They dont grow back, I've lost many from when i was a child! Thinking about getting some lash growth med like lattise or liLash

  • Nooooooooooooo... worst news ever. It can't be true. :( I'm gonna look into this matter.. I'll let you know if I find out something worth sharing. Same goes to you :) Thanks.

  • are you okay now?

i need to know what to do with mine :(:(

  • I have a stye now and im going to the xfactor auditions tomorrow! =[

  • i still have one after 5 months :(

  • i had one for 5 years and i was doing the warm thing for one week and it went away im only 12 and i have another one it sucks but its going down more faster

  • me too and i hate it soo much! i got surgery and its still there!

  • The best way to clear it is to go to a eye doctor and perform a surgery...

I done tat 2 yr ago after suffer for 8 mths...

    It clear once and gone...

    Now it bad after 2yr...

The warm water theory jut help to reduce it but after a few days, it back again...

I guess i got to cut it again if it not clear within this 3 days...

Being around on and off for 3 wks...

  • ahhh i have one right now i want it to go away!!

  • Not always that easy. Some styes are stubborn and get hard enough that they need to be cut out by the physician because no amount of warm compresses or stye ointments help.

As a teenager I had one of the stubborn ones. It was cut out after the area was numbed, and has not returned 25 years later.

  • it needed to be warm not cold
