Clint Eastwood will be a legend. Charelton Heston was a legend. Some actors that heve been around for a long time as the above are legends. Ledger was a good actor but not a legend. He has not been around long enough.
he was not a drug addict... he was a man.. who gave his all and was so young.. and he had more to give.. and he had a little girl.. adn yes, he made his mistake.. but he is a legend in his own right.. u cant think of him as a drug addict.. that is awful...have some shame
yea because he died you idiot! heath had been doing plenty of movies right up until his death! plus heath had died at a young age! all those other actors have actually lived a long life!! jeez go find yourself a brain!

The older actor lived a long life because they had their cocktails not cocaine and sleeping pills. He abused drugs for a long time. Well known. It is sad that he died but most people know that you can't mix drugs to a point that it kills you.
I'll say! ^^ He and Heath are my two biggest inspirations along with Johnny Depp! I WILL be an actress one day, and they are the ones I will thank for it. All the things they have all said, and Johnny will continue to say, are my drive. ESPECIALLY James Dean's "Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today..." and Heath Ledger's "When I think it's good, that's when I stop and do something else."
Even though it was extremely short, I think it had a powerful effect - the lack of music made it so haunting and set it apart from others - it was so lovely, i think it was perfect.
i think it is amazing how you can become so attached to a person through their body of work. and even if you did not know the person personally, you feel a sense of loss when they finally pass on. I have grown to love these characters that these actors and actress protray that I mourn them respectfully. And I don't care when some people tell me it is stupid to cry for them, b/c i did not know them.
Every time they show Deborah Kerr do they have to show the sex on the beach scene? I know it was a big breakthrough and all controversial and so on, I just get tired of looking at it when I remember she made a gadzillion other great pictures.
I'm with Miss Green Day 7 on that, but that was poignant, how Heath is shown just one solemn facial shot, the music has ended, no soundbite, and just a quick look and fade to black.
I hate it when they only clap for the ones they like. It's like even in death they are still being judged. They shouldn't applaud for any of them and just watch and remember the actors with respect.
I never knew of Laraine Day until watching the SAG awards Memoriam. She has consumed my thoughts ever since. She is absolutely beautiful. Old Hollywood beauty at its best. They will all be missed.
RIP Brad Renfro! You were an amazing and gifted actor who contributed so much to the craft! Thank you for the 15 years, and for the movies you left behind. You'll never be forgotten!
Thanks for reposting this! I'll miss Suzanne Pleshette, Tom Poston, Jane Wyman, Lois Nettleton, and Alice Ghostley
I first saw Tom and Jane in their wonderful guest appearances on "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman". Lois was great as "Pat" on "the Golden Girls". I love Alice Ghostly in "Designing Women". Suzanne I know from Bob Newhart's shows and "The Birds" Rest in peace all of you.

Heath took pills and died from an accident (spelled right?) Bruce Lee also took a pill and died from that.
People don't have to be abuser of drugs to died from drugs; they can die from accidents.

Heath Ledger died of a self induced drug overdose. Why do you put drug addicts on a pedistool. (sp) Bob Hope was a legened not Ledger.

James Dean didn't live long, but he's a legend none the less.

James dean is a legend, not sure why. Bob Hope I think is a legend. I attribute a legend to what he has done, but that's just me.
Not being sarcastic.
