I so was mad when Barry Windham became a heel. I understand that sometimes it has to happen if a wrestler's career needs a new storyline but Windham was pretty much a heel for the rest of his career and it steadily declined. Proof Barry Windham was better as face was when he and Mike Rotundo were the US Express they were definately some of the most popular wrestlers at the time. When Barry Windham returned to the WWF as a heel it didn't work
This moment on World Wide was really what defined 1988 for me! Tony Schiavone put it best on that World WIde episode...."you talk about intensity and emotion at an all-time fever pitch"....i think at that very moment JIm Crockett promotions reached it ultimate apex, and the buisness afterwords, IMO was never the same!
The match with Dusty vs. Barry gave me a much better appreciation of Windham in general. He made that match good, even though Dusty did everything he could to kill Windham's finisher (probably not intentionally....I mean, Dusty's ego is only twice the size of his girth).
@anthony1468 WWE Classics on Demand shows NWA Wrestlng. They are at the beginning of January 1988. They have just started The Barry Windham Heel Turn storyline, so they will get to this footage probably late December or early January. They put up new NWA Footage every week.
I saw that match on the WCW DVD...Very disappointed, not the great match i thought it would be, Dusty was not in good shape at all. And Dusty should have lost the match clean, no interference. Hell Windham was almost 20 years younger than him, give me a break, Barry should have won clean.
This was back in the waning era where things were settled in the ring, not with a bunch of schmucks streaming out of the lockerroom to break up important matches. Nikita with hair is a total tool. Windham is the human slinky. The guy had it all, except the rap. In ring, no better wrestler
I just bought this on DVD...it was AWESOME...LONG LIVE THE HORSEMEN!!!! FLAIR, ANDERSON, BLANCHARD, WINDHAM AND DILLON!!!! :) WRESTLING ROYALTY...THE FOUR HORSEMEN!!!!
I remember when this first aired. It was aweseome....This was my favorite fight I've ever seen in the wrestling biz. I miss when wrestling was like this. No stupid "five knuckle shuffles" here.
I would still be watching wrestling if it were presented it this manner.

This was a great follow-up to the storyline of Barry Windham turning on Lex Lugar and joining the Four Horsemen. This truly was Must See TV!
